Dad Pete Cusack

Today we bloggers are going to honor our friend, Pate Cusack.  We will point out our favorite blog.

I have a lot of respect and care for Dad Pete.  I am still reeling, knowing that he is gone.  It seems as though he is right here still among us all.  I wonder if I am the only one who feels a presence, so to speak.

I wish we could know how the cats are doing in their new home.  I do trust they are cared for and together, but I miss Dad Pete's unique and loving way of writing about them.  They, and Pete as well, were so familiar and close to us all.  He never failed to help us when we got into a problem with our cats.

My most favorite blog was about the Cardwood Derby the Cat scouts had.  Timmy of course was among them.  His Dad posted that video on utube and each time I look at it, I still roll laughing.  I loved it then, and I still do.  Please watch and remember that sweet time with Timmy and his Dad.  If it doesn't "take" I will try again.  The sound in the video just sent me to the floor rolling.  Thank you Dad Pete.  Sending you love.

NO Mom. Don't do It.

She wants to rant again but I told her N-O spells no.  She ranted in her own blog a few minutes ago.  I said stay out of mine.

It's cold cold cold.  I have been sealed to the warm air blowy thing all these past weeks.  And when I am not sealed to it, I am sealed to HER!

Did you all see this?  That is adorable!  How beautiful, and what a cherished sight and family that is.

The chili smell is out of the house thank goodness.  Well, when it was cooking...EWWWwwww.  But then, later she'd take some from the fridge and heat it up..here we go again.  YUK.

Mom's face hurts a bit where the sinus's are.  Just a bit on one side.  Hope it's not firing up again.  But if it is...we will deal with it.  The bronchitis is about done which I am grateful for...she about knocks me across the bed once she gets to hacking and coughing.  Her chest heaves me OFF of her and I would swear, half way across the room! I'll call the police if she does that again.

I think I will make home made candy...chocolate (and marshmallow) covered peanuts bars.  Once they cool, I can break them up a bit.  OH it is so good.  Fattening, but delicious.  I'll give it way except one piece.

See mom?  I knew I could keep you from carrying on again!

Stuffs in my mind

Kitties!  Mom just made chili.  Ew.  I smell it all over the house and on her too.  Bet *I* smell like that!  I should call the police.

Do you kitties feel like telling poor mom how to schedule her posts?  Seems like there is no longer the scheduler we used to have before Google pulled the plug on our follow one another feature.  She can't find it.   Please tell the poor thing!   She felt like she HAD to write my Gotcha Day a day ahead of time because she couldn't;t make her feeble mind (sorry, mommy) work hard enough to find any instructions!  Poor thing.

Mom said she's brushing me (she is) and using that really cool curved tines thingy-brushie that she bought from Amazon.  I LOVE it.  She showed it to me from the doorway of our bedroom, said "Katie" and I looked up from her pillow and believe it or not, I said "Um"? in a questioning tone.  I did.  It really was a questioning tone.   I jumped straight down and ran for the bathroom where I monorail on the tub and get scraped and brushed.  I have two brushies, and three combs.  If I am lucky I get a taste of all of them.  But she said to tell you for some reason I am looking a bit unkempt.  (*I* say, "AS IF"!!!!!  Boy furs aren't glowing as they were and I have some skin flakes.  I'm not eating odd things but mom can't find my regular good-for-me-food anymore.  She thinks the manufacturers quit making cat food. We're eating leftovers that were stores.  In any case, her doesn't believe at all "aluminum shortage" and all that.  I remember she went down that road a few blogs ago with you. So I made her stop now.

We aren't sure why my furs are looking a bit off.  I get brushed all the time. Maybe because I am a Grande Dame now?  (older).

She is much much better now from her acute bronchitis and sinusitis.  She said she didn't see a cute thing about it.  She was in misery, but her better now.

Oh and I won't get off the bed hardly at all.  Or her pillow. Or her.

Mom and I will see ya on the other side.  OH!  And all four of Micah's tires were practically flat this morning ( he is a handsome shining black Toyota Corolla LE!) ( very prideful, he is) when she left to go to the dentist at 0830.  22 degrees should not have  done that but, it did.

BYY!  I'll wave from the

porch as you come by.

It's my Gotcha Day Tomorrow. January 16th.

On  January 16, 2012 I came  home to live with mom.  One of my brothers happened to be visiting that day that I came home, and I bonded with him as well.

The day Admiral picked Mom out for me, and me for her was the happiest day in my life.  I have never stopped being grateful for it; nor has she. We were truly made for one another.  Mom thinks I had a very kind and loving mom before my mom found me.  We heard my before mom passed away.   Mom fell  hopelessly in love from the first few minutes.  I did the same toward her.

As mom and I have written so many Gotcha Days before, from the second I was put in mom's arms, I was all over her...under her T shirt mostly...I almost wouldn't come out.   Purring in ultra high gear...head bonks and face rubs that never stopped for several weeks!  Seriously.  I was so desperate to have love and a mommy. I could not stop thanking her for it.  After she went to bed that first night...she slept well enough that it wasn't until 0630 when she woke, that she discovered me stretched all the way from her underarm to her ankle.  Well, she said it seemed that way.  I was stretched as long as I could make myself, sealed against my mom.  We both looked at one another as we woke, and the rest is history. I haven't let her go since.   Thank you mommy for choosing me, and thank you Admiral for choosing mommy for me.  I was washing my arms here.

Just Because... And, Soap Box

Kitties!  I told mom after it was too late that just because she can taste her food again pretty much does not give her a license to eat too many Oreos.  She did.  Who's sorry now?  Her.

Mom left me here and went out and bought two new black tops with really cool details on them.  Both have moderate small ruffles and one top has a ruffle over each sleeve top...sticking up looking cute!  That one was hauled off to the seamstress earlier  today and taken in at the bust darts.  She didn't try it on where she bought it...she never learns. But extra material is gone now.

Mom found some 5 1/2 oz. wet food at Aldi's that I liked.  But their smaller standard size was not to my liking.  Then, when she went back to gather up more...of course there was none.  Here comes the  soap box.  Stop now if you don't want to read it.

I want to know why there is ample dog food *I don't want to hear the old saw that there is an aluminum can shortage..that's baloney*  And no, it isn't still out there on the boats being forced to stay in the harbor  and not unload their cargo these months.  This shortage was going on long before that fiasco.   All this lack of cat food only, not dogs, was going on long before that.  No, it doesn't all come from Thailand, and Asia.  I want to know the real reason why it's, the food is not made and not stocked. But I doubt we ever will.  We will have to make out own if we can afford the meat for them, with the sky high grocery prices rising every week.

Off the soap box.

Blazing Brooms and Vacuums!

Kitties!   Mom feels a good 50-75% better so she's doing her Caturday cleaning.  She's not exactly whoopin ' around fast the way she always does, BUT...she is doing some work.  She said the coughing and wheezing power her with their windy gusts pushing her to the Outer Limits...(where she sees stars and galaxies).

She swilling down a diet coke now..that ought to get her started in the kitchen next.  Scouring out my water bowls about made her proud yesterday because it's been well over a week and a half since they were scoured.  They were just listlessly emptied and refilled.   She even cleaned the inside of the microwave.  I saw her smiling when she was at the stove cooking supper...baked chicken, mashed potatoes, good carrots, chicken gravy and seems like something else...she was smiling because she for the first time in over a week, wasn't dreading cooking (or anything else) (She dreaded stuffs, because she was wheezing and coughing so much with the attendant strangling sensation...but THAT is over). Couple days of steroids and antibiotic...things are normalizing.  Today she has the bathroom done except the tub...that's next and then, the kitchen.

This is a video from yesterday but I must have done something wrong here on Blogger

Good Grief!

Kitties! Is there any such thing as good grief!?  No.  But still, mommy says it all the time.  She has ME saying it too.

OK.  Mom heard back from the doctor through the patient portal where she told each symptoms yesterday, each tiny detail and asked for the whoopty-do cough medicine as her back and ribs were killing her from coughing and she saw both lungs on the floor many times as she coughed till the last iota of air.  Dr, said he was glad mom was scheduled to come in today because it sounded like the Covid variant that started with an O...Om something or other.  Except mom had no fever whatsoever.  But she caved, went for the test and some help, and they had her wait outside after they swabbed the nostrils. 45 minutes later they said "negative".  What a load off her back as she has so much she has to do.  The massive everlasting drainage, horrific coughing, sneezing, extreme sore throat..lack of smell and taste..she thought she was toast.  But not.

The meds prescribed are already doing a good job.  The whoopty-do cough syrup about knocked coughing in the head already.  The steroid pac is working. The antibiotic is too.  I might get to sleep and stay asleep...but the tetracycline type is a humdinger and interacts with the darndest things.  So I have to be careful re: letting her take her magnesium for when her legs seize up after mucho mucho aerobics.

You all saw who  I was consigned to consort with-- or have no cuddles.  LEOPARD.  (two 'con' starting words...I am so clever)

XXXX  Thank you for holding my paw.  I was really worried my mom was gonna fly away she sounded so badly.

Mommy is Sick...She'll see a Dr. Tomorrow.

Kitties, her own blog tells the story about the sickness.  Address on the right hand side bar.

Me, look who I have had to go to for COMFORT!  I'm surrounded by sick people!!!

She turned on the overhead light to see who was snuggling me!

Just the bedside lamp is on here.

Um...What's Up With This?

Kitties...mommy saw maybe 40 cans of FF cat food and very very little of other brands...  She walked to the other side of the store and look what she saw for the woofies?

That's my cart you see up there above.  And the few foods at the very end are specialty "frou frou" foods most of us don't buy for our cats.

However:

The dogs fare wonderfully well. And four more aisles of foods  than the cats used to have, too.  They have one aisle.

Happy New Year!

Kitties!  Kozmo came by my home to get me, and we tripped the light fantastic all the way to and through New years day!  His mommy snapped this picture as we were about to hop in the tunnel to hit the pubs.

I wore my best crown, the one that Nellie gave me; and  I painted my claws red...in honor of my bestie, Nellie Bellie.  Kozmo and I had the best evening ever!  We ate...we drank from every fountain there was available, and what the heck!  Kozmo paid extra for us to have SPRING water and...bubbly water with lots of air in it to make the bubbles.  We were just the happiest couple there!  I just know it.  He puts a spring in my step and I make sure he, the Tuxie King, knows he is appreciated and loved by a Tuxie Queen.

By the way, mom bought me a fountain since I decided to sleep instead of drink my waters...and I did NOT...N-O-T like it..nor would I use it...Mom gave me a week to change my mind. When taking it up to clean it, mom dropped it on the kitchen floor and what a mess of water on our wooden floor.  It was chipped too,  so out it went.

I'm recovered from our wonderful evening out now, and napping comfortably.
