Kitties! Woofies!!
It was the best of times, it sure got to be the worst of times. Jiminey Crickets! Mom got up a bit earlier and thank goodness I was on heavenly business and not at home (even if not seen).
Two fellers came over and they did not leave from 10 am till 7pm. Working the entire time. The first not Handy Man left a lot undone but took money for it anyway saying he'd be back. He never did and ripped up some of Mommy's carpet too.
She saw a recommendation on Next Door and called the guy mentioned. He came, gave an estimate and with he exception on one side of the kitchen door failing to be painted (he forgot and Mom was busy) everything else got done!! WHAT a difference. But so glad I wasn't there to have to hear all the loud noises.
The awful hole in the wall where the first guy ripped off (it needed to go) an ancient thermostat and left an eyesore is fixed..the hall area where the air return is for the HVAC has been cleaned out wonderfully (it was embarrassingly badly filthy) The louvered doors with no knobs were washed and painted and new knobs.. Office room door painted both sides, now match every door in the house, AND he weather- tightened and showed me how he was doing it, my new front door. Fixed the dead bolts space to lock, so it would be in much deeper and more securely. The work on fixing the new door took one man's entire time he was here. The helper did all the rest. More stuff, but Me and Mom said enough.
