Look at ME

Kitties, I am happy as can be.  I have been on Brother's lap a lot since he got here.

See?  And there is the one I put on FB too.  But Brother is going away tomorrow morning.  I am furry sad.  I love having him here to visit his room, follow him around, and join him in my lounge chair.  He's a cat man as are all my brothers and knows how to pet and scritch!

Here I am at the V-E-T yesterday even though my brother and Mom were with me! I cussed more than I ever have and left no doubt as to their ancestry~!

Happy Monday

A great good meowning to all of you Kitties and Woofies.

We had good family time..or Mom and the brother from over the mountains sure did.  They went to the other favorite brother's home a few miles away, and they all had a wonderful family time.  They had a delicious meal.  Mom said out of respect for the Tabbies, we can't say what the main dish was...but we had that and all the trimmings. Mom took a cake she made with her and they ate on that too and brought home 2 pieces for her and brother to have later.

So many kitty friends had funny cartoons about us kitties on their bloggies!  We enjoyed every one of them.

Mom asked Santa for a faucet that would not keep dripping but Santa laughed and went on with his usual business.  So Mom will head out today and buy one to have ready if she can find a plumber willing to install it.  Plumbers are hard to come by here except the one who is the most expensive of all.

We hope each one of you had a warm and wonderful time for Christmas.  Here it was and still is bitterly cold outside and a windchill well below zero.  Now at least the temp has risen above 0 and 2 for the high.

Let me show you where I have stayed to avoid chill in this not well insulated old house.

See my tent mom brought out?  Keeps me very warm! And a sun puddle appeared too.
Me, typing this blog

Merry Christmas again in the twelve days of Christmas and love and hugs to each and every one of you.

An Answer to my Dilemma

Kitties!  Mommy and I have decided in the past several weeks that she will cut the bigger chunks in my FF up.  AND for the dry seeming wet foods, she runs the tap until it's warm and adds a teaspoon of hot water to my food, stirring it up.  I have been eating much better.  She always has slightly warmed the food that was in the refrigerator, but now, she warms it a bit more.  That helps too.

Mom will be a little bit busy this morning before she heads out to freeze her nose off.  It was 24 f when she woke..it'll not be 30 yet when she heads out to the track.  But, she's going.  FIRST she'll get that pie crust done.  She mentioned 'blind bake' with beans, and some kitty was confused.  They couldn't understand why she would put dry beans in the crust.  Easy Peasy.  One rolls out the crust, puts it in the pie plate, lines that crust with parchment paper,  fills the lined crust with dried beans or other things like marbles or smooth small stones,  bakes about 15 minutes, takes it out, removes the beans or whatever, pricks the crust bottom with a fork, and returns it to the oven to brown.  The weight of the beans will help keep the crust from shrinking and causing the crust to fail in covering the sides of the pan and rim.

What is Blind Bake

Anyway, I have naps to take, brushies to get before Mom heads out and comes home to blind bake her coconut cream pie's crust.  See ya!

Finding Foods

Kitties!  There are a decent number of foods out there but not a lot of what I want to eat.  I can see Marinated Morsels are no more but I told mom not to give up hope (she has). I don't like the bigger hunks and chunks they have out now in FF and I usually let them lay there drying.  Mom gets "grilled", but they are dryish in consistency,  Not wet enough.  I don't like pate.  For a while in desperation I had some, but not my favorite.  Other foods are sort of chunky and I just don't prefer those types.

Here is Admiral.  She should put it in her own blog, but only a few come to see her now.  She understands because she doesn't get away from her Cafe up there on the Bridge often enough to make a blog for us down here.   The Tabbies of Trouttowne are half-partners with her.  It is strictly a fish cafe.

Anyway, Mom said she is headed out here in a few to buy some coconut milk, shredded coconut and a pint of cream, extra eggs, and some coconut extract...she is going to make a coconut cream pie. She's going to use dried beans to blind bake the crust.

Let's get ready.  Oh!  Did you see this on Mom's FaceBook?

Happy Selfie Sunday

Kitties!  Donkey and I decided on new Donkey's name.  I will say too that the decision was thrown open to my human brovvers as well.  My Client who used to steal my foods and try to get in my litterbox got the final word on the topic.

As a baby, he loved Trotro...a French donkey.  So much so, that is all he would watch when he wasn't watching Buzzbee!  So he decided that among all the suggestions-- TJ {middle name Keydon}, (Trotro Jr.) would be it.  Donkey agreed, as did TJ.   So.  Donkey is cozy at his retirement home and getting well-deserved rest.  No more being thrown across the room.

Here I am,  monorailing and well satisfied after all the brouhaha yesterday. Rest for the weary.

Which I might meow, I have been getting better rest at night  Mom is not tossing me off accidentally with loud prolonged coughing.  She allows me on the chesticles for a while now.  Whew.

Let's HOP!

New Era

Header by Ann

Kitties!  I, Katie, made the decision, and mom helped, to encourage Donkey to retire and enjoy his remaining years.   Here we are, braying it over beforehand.  Examining all the ins and outs.  He lost his front leg last year and it was never found so he could have surgery.  His attacker must have eaten it.

Donkey was brave but agreed that he was tired.  He spoke of the many adventures we had experienced and said he hoped I would come to visit him in his retirement home.  He chose that to be the big drawer in the curio cabinet where he could have room to entertain his other family members, Mousies, Duckies, new Donkey the twin, and Turtle.

He doesn't yet know his name.  He was wondering if he should take his brother's name, Donkey.  Probably not.  Not nice to Donkey.

His back was broken and he had surgery a number of times, so I don't want to stress him. 💗💗

Joy in the Morning also hope I just added video.

Kitties!  I found Donkey this very morning.  This time he escaped total disaster as he is so old and infirm he could not have taken what was coming if he hadn't been found. .

He was tangled up at the bottom of the top sheet in our bed.  Mom saw his tail only as she pulled the sheets off.  Mom is making the decision as to whether he goes lovingly into retirement.  She found his twin brother who had been marinating for years!  as she bought him the same time she got Donkey... just in case.  She brought a new Donkey out and I had a BLAST with him.  Mom has a video.  Bet it won't take just as the other but she will try again.   Nope.  It won't appear except as an error.  I have a still picture but that doesn't show me rolling, biting, kicking, and having the best 30-second movie ever. OH!  Thanks to Mariette, see the link below!

Mom also got Plague Ratsie out.  I love him to bits and haven't had a chance at him for months.

It rained all week last week and will do the same all this week, all of it-- and some a third week.  It has warmed, which mom said she wishes it had not...and just rain, 60 degrees, more rain.  Ew-glee. Can't get our leaves raked.

Wishing mom could upload to YouTube.  That would help but her iphone seems to have lost the ability though it is a brand new one.  Mom isn't good with technical things so she'll never find that app again.

I just went to bed.  Mom is too busy for brushies that I want so much...for now.

I hope this does it, thanks to Mariette!

HA!

HA!  Showed YOU mama...and...Donkey is really missing.  Can't find him.  NO he is not in the trash.

It was much worse yesterday morning.  You wisely emptied it..that is picked up, and threw away what *I* emptied.

Good Grief!!!

Mom here:   There was this thump!  A big thump. I had become awake as I am more or less trained to wake at 3, and again at 4:30 am through years of attending to Katie's brother.  I just wake up at those times and cannot stop.  Hence I was awake to hear a loud thump.  I will add that I have white noise going on through the years because shift workers need their sleep, especially off midnight shifts when everyday noises are occurring outside.  So, all I heard was a loud thump.

I went back to thinking..hoping to doze (I did some) and it wasn't until I woke and turned on the light that I saw the heavy wood waste basket in my room...OUR room, was turned over and its contents inspected thoroughly.  That little gorgeous nuisance!  As I went through the house opening and raising mini blinds...MORE!  The spare bedroom was re-decorated with its trash turned over--- and the contents thoroughly gone over, picked though, and judgments made!  I never get mad..not ever.  It always makes me smile.  Very soon after her excavations, I felt little feets at MY feet.   I knew she was on the oak chest at the foot of the bed.  Now that I have a new standard-type mattress I can't feel every footfall so I wasn't sure if she had joined me or not.

I wonder if any other pet parents are like me.  I don't fall asleep or sleep as well when Katie isn't there.  And while she is always on me or pressed against me, my bronchitis is keeping her away.  I miss her.

Koz doesn't complain...
