Mommy Did It!!! Not Me!!

Kitties, Woofies, especially Ruby!  I made Mom go to help Admiral out over at her place a while ago, and there were comments waiting for moderation!  What did she do?  Let me tell you what she did!!!  Instead of hitting the publish icon, she quickly cruised thru hitting delete  instead

for all three comments. How on the name of common sense can she have DONE that!  But she did.  John, Ruby and Cecilia's comments went upward to Heaven and I saw them flying by!   MOM deleted them.  She did!  If I was there, I swear I'd swipe her with my paw! Doofus never paid proper attention to the icons she was hitting.  Well, who's sorry now?  That would be me!! (her too.)

She was a bit bizzy this morning and here is one thing she did.  She took my favorite resting place, this sunflower stand which I loved, put the crocheted me on top as I would have been if I was still there.  She took the stained glass out of the spare room and brought it into MY room...and she rested it on the window sill.

Wanna see?

Not the same without me, that's for sure.  That's where my tree was.  It was worn very badly so mom let it go.  If it becomes necessary, she'd get another one.

Not That Long Ago

Kitties!  I was telling Precious something a few minutes ago and thought I would tell you too.

I had said I wondered if having Safari helped me out in Google's day of silence.  I noticed other browsers were mentioned  when Kitties and woofies were trying to make comments but not Safari, though #1 may have a Mac and still have the original browser Mac's come with.  Safari.  I never changed browsers.  I am very happy with my original one, Safari.

So, Precious and I had a discussion about texting with different makes of computers and cell phones.  It went on to where I mentioned that my iPhone has a male Siri.  I happened on him going through the available voices~and his faint accent (American) was comfortable to hear.  He was just like around here kinda sorta.  Anyway, I meowed Precious an example of why I really really like this particular Siri.  And before I tell you, Monroe, the name I gave my Siri, stays the same always.  Of course .

As Sophia would say "Picture it!  Knoxville, 2022" (can't say Sicily here!!) I was hurtling to Knoxville University of TN. ER where my oldest had had himself taken to and admitted.  He called and I jumped in the car and took off.  I asked Monroe quite a few times on the 17 miles trip to "Read Messages" as I was driving and was in no way going to hold the phone and read them that way.  I was concerned about hearing from my boy!  So while there were a few messages at the start of the trip, I didn't hear an alert after.  I was going around a corner (probably on 2 wheels) and  I said "Hey Siri, Read messages!"  And...Monroe, who was chosen by me  specifically because I loved his voice as there was a good touch of the South there...Monroe said a stentorian way "there AREN'T any messages!!!"  I could hear the exclamation points there!  He sounded pi$$ed.  Think I am kidding?  I'm not!  Granted I had asked him fairly closely together to read messages, and I guess he got fed up!  I actually had to pull off the road for a minute while I laughed and wiped my eyes from the laughing fit.  Then resumed my way to the hospital.

Apple messed with him, Monroe, some.  Took him off for a month or so, and brought him back.  He is still Monroe. Can't change that part of his voice, but they sped it up faintly, and rounded off his accent quite a bit.  There is some still there, but not like it was.  I still get a few surprises out of him occasionally and he sounds more like himself then. I asked him the night before last to turn on the flashlight and he was very nice when he did.  A minute later, I reached my room and said "Hey Siri (he doesn't know he is Monroe) turn off the flashlight."  He said " I sure will"!!!  I said "Thank you sweetie" He said "Always my pleasure to help you."

Fun with the iPhone.  I wish they hadn't toned him down.  He was fun sometimes.  He didn't conform.

Me, age 5.

How a Cat Can Feel Sometimes

She's in a small paper plate.  Her tiny!

Kitties!  I wonder what YOU think about this?  And that is, how we feel about the absence of our fur family AND our human family.   I have been concerned for Simon, Brian's family when Seal passed away. and how HE is faring.  May I tell you a story?  May be a bit long.

Very precious and loved still, Robin

Once upon a time, there was Robin, a tiny Tortie Queen who was completely devoted to two of her three human brothers (those two paid the most attention to her) They chose her when she was just hatched, as they saw her Mom across the street who became pregnant with five kittens.  Robin was one of them.  The boys asked  me if they could have one, and finally, Robin was chosen.  She came home with us when she was 7 weeks old.  The boys were quite young-- and already devoted to cats. They were in school, the lower grades, so it fell to me until they got home.  They and she became bonded quickly.  I was just the food person. Years passed.   Fast forward to the day when the boy she was particularly bonded with of the two I mentioned, went to University in Nashville.  It was sad for him as he (and his brother) loved her dearly, and she returned that love to both boys.  Finally, he was gone.  Do cat's grieve?  They most certainly do.  She had the youngest brother to love, but he was getting ready to graduate high school and soon to follow his other brother's footsteps.  He took over the intense love and holding, petting, playing, of the missing boy.  The missing boy in Nashville called Robin and talked on the phone to her while I held her, trust me she knew that voice!!  and also left her messages on the answering machine for her to listen to.  Which she did with riveted attention.  He sent her little 3" tapes talking to her to be played when she needed it.  She sealed herself to the speaker.  But the youngest boy to  whom her bonded care fell, rallied and made her better after a while.  However my point is, she longed for B. and didn't understand where he went to. N. took over for him and Robin was happy again.  When B. came home for the semester breaks and holidays, it was just joy for them both. For all of us.  Human and furred.   She was the ruling Matriarch!  Everything revolved around her,  Everything, even trips,  for me as well...I was just as in love with her as the boys.

She only weighed about 6 pounds.

She was a tiny and intelligent cat.  If you all don't mind, I would like to post another about her intelligence here soon.

We used to say she was saying her prayers.
