Kitties!! This is very much appropriate for Robin, our Tortie who flew away to the Bridge at age 16 in the late 90's. She brought her gifts, stove ready, into the house if we were careless enough to just open the door without looking at her when she knocked on the window. (And, she truly did knock. Her meows were muffled because of the supper gift that she was bringing home.)
Believe me...we have had years of loving beneficent hunting on our behalf including snakes, rabbits, chippies, squirrels, birdies, again with the snakes, rats, and mice. The field mice variety. Robin was the last indoor-outdoor girl we had, so it was she who took care of us. For a 7 pound Tortie, that girl was fierce. Dogs who came into the yard to forage in our trash learned a painful lesson. Our house and grounds were HER house and grounds and NO trespassing.
