Kitties! I have never had a worse time than I did Christmas Eve. Mom went to the front door to check for mail and the burglar alarm went off with all its decibels roaring. It was horrible. Brother came running...she slammed the door shut and went to the panel. Mom said I should keep this short and cut to the chase. The phone was ringing and it was answered by brother who told the alarm company that nothing we did would silence it. And the shrieking was horrific. They finally helped us silence it after going thru words and whatever was set up before.
Mom went to the door while brother was talking and re-opened it, only to have set it off again. She saw me about then, and I was petrified. They silenced it again, and mom opened the door a third time and the same horrible thing happening again. No...she did not set the alarm nor had she for some time. They silenced it and mom had to go to the side door and try. It was silent. We told them we couldn't be trapped in the house without moving for days till their office opened with techs being dispatched. A tech called and it would seem that the remote in my purse was accidentally set to "alarm"by my rummaging around in my purse...at 1728 the former day. There was no count down on the side door to warn mom that the alarm was set. There was no delay on the front door hence it went off instantly.
Mom and brother who came from over the mountains were very concerned for me as I was showing fear and anxiety and you know that hurt my ears terribly. Mom was finally allowed by me to love on me a LOT after an hour or so. I always get lovins but the next 24 hours were packed with them and snug hugs...plenty of them.
I seem OK now she said.
