The Little LadyCat next Door

My mom loves all cats.  There were two, now one it seems, cats next door.  They don't take good care of her.  They have a whippet and it stays in all the time.  Comes out for potty breaks.  This little Ladycat is always out.  Perhaps they allow her inside for harsh weather.  No way of knowing.  They are unfriendly.

She is over here a lot.  Makes me crazy but..mom feels so sorry for her.  She has food.  We can see that but she is here many many times.  Mom won't feed her because it will make her dependent on Mom and possibly cause her to leave her house.  Mom WANTS to feed her but she's not starving, so better not to.  I will not allow any other cat in my home.  Nor share my mom. Mom came out of the house and saw the little lady on our sidewalk enjoying a really fat lizard type she had caught.  She even allowed Mom to take her photo.

Mom and I hope they aren't feeding her dog food.  We wish we knew if she'd been spayed. We want her to have had her shots.  No one will answer Mom's knock on the door. So, another baby out there to worry about.

She's never afraid of Mom

Mom would love to pet her

she is so trusting of mommy.

Thankful Thursday

Mom said she always means to remind me about  Brian's Thankful Thursdays but she never does until today.  She and I have several gratefuls.

Mon said she is thankful that today I flew around the living room and up and down the hallway several times with the best of thunder rumbles!  You would have been impressed.  I crouched at the threshold of our bedroom and looked her straight in the eye she says, with a challenge intended- while she was in the bathroom putting on a face.  I looked at her!  She looked at me!  Then, I stormed around the house. Her own blog tells what happened right after she caught my eye as she was ready to put on some mascara.  (she can't catch a break!)

Mom and I are also thankful for Mom's daughter-in-love.  She is all mom could have hoped for and wanted for my brovver.  Mom whispered to me many times that even at the first meeting in a restaurant for lunch with our family and Christi, Mom was so impressed by Christi.   She has been a blessing from moment one to this second ~and we are all grateful that she is all we could have hoped for.  Today is their anniversary.  May 25, 2013 till this beautiful day.

We both are thankful that we get through each day doing what is needed and for the friends, that we have added to our family in our hearts.

We are thankful for family and friends as well who come to the rescue when mom is too short to reach things really way up high.  I see Mom just smiled.  There are other reasons--- but right now she needs someone to get to that high-up shelf in the linen closet.  She has a step stool but still...too short.  I think she has cat length leggies!

This is, I hope, a Blog Hop.  Thankful to Brian as well.  (I never do well with blog hops).

Busy Around Here

Mom was been a busy bee.  She's doing the jobs no one would notice if she did- or not have done. But she knows where it needs to be cleaned so every now and again, she just starts doing them.  She just got up off the bathroom floor after washing it on her hands and knees.  She said she refuses to have another mop to store just for that tiny space.  Hands and knees do a great job.

Me, I seem restless in a way.  We're playing more because I come up to Mom and yell. And she watches me walk...where my tail stands when I walk, how I hold my head, what my whiskers are doing, to see if I feel badly.  I have taken to lying on the floor more than I am in my bed or tree or the backs of the chairs and couch.  It worries Mom,  she hopes I'm not in pain.  And yet she thinks I seem to be normal otherwise.

I did a great job watching her clean out the microwave again...re-clean the wooden kitchen floor that got soiled not even one day after she had cleaned it and skated round with rags under her feets to buff it.   Part of her dinner got all over it.  That story is on her blog.

I'm fifteen so I hope what I am doing is for a fifteen-year-old. I'll be sixteen in September.

All Better

Kitties!  Mom and I shook hand and paw and made up.  You might remember she scared me badly by screaming when I tried to walk up to her as she lay in bed.  She must have been actually asleep by then and I woke her somehow even with my soft step.  The next night, it took a while for me to try but I finally did.  I walked up..she was awake, and the light was ut...and hesitated at her chest.  I walked around the pillow...hesitated again and finally settled on her.  I actually fell asleep which I usually don't do  It was hard on her as I am not featherweight--- but she gladly did the suffering, and bore the challenge.  Eventually, I left.  WHEW!!!

Mom noticed that in the past several months that while I am happy and well, ...and as a matter of fact  I tossed Donkey into the air four times in the hallway a few minutes ago where I left him in the night----I seem to sleep an awful lot in the day.  I played with my fishing rod toy for a good 10 minutes (I usually don't that long) just the other day.

I will bring Donkey and Floppy Mousie in most nights but not every night the way I did.  Time was I would bring in five of my family in,  and announce each one.  I still love Donkey.  I wish I was as new and firm as he is...since my original Donkey rests now in a special place.

I am about to send Mom out to buy some strawberries and half a gallon of milk.  She nommed a bunch of blackberries yesterday.  Oh by the way she said my food is a dollar a can now.  Walmart has it 10 cents less.  The Pet Food stores have a certain unchanging small variety of FF foods, and none that I like so for a year now, I have had to do all my food shopping in Walmart or the grocery store we go to.  Both places used to have very very little cat food.  Mostly aisles of dog food.  Now they are providing more for us.  Thank Cod.

Happy Sunday Kitties and Woofies.

Last Night

Kitties, I scared the hair off my mom's head last night.  She was in bed. And having a hard time she said to me later, going to sleep.   Now me, I was still resting in her platform rocker in the living room when she turned out the lights and went to bed.

Her eyes were closed the entire time she waited to fall asleep- so she finally drifted off.  She must have been right on the edge of slipping from a light doze to a  real sleep when I up got on the bed from the foot of it... and started stepping on up to get onto her.  That soft stepping and the faint movement of the sheet were just enough to bring her awake.  She saw (she thought but it was totally dark) a shape seeming to be bending over her, and screamed!  Loudly!  She realised it was me then, but I ran away.  She scared me.  I never came back.

Bad things happen.

Mother's Day for Mommy

KITTIES!  Look what my favorite bruvver in NC sent Mom for Mother's Day?  It's a pair of socks! Look who's on them?  Five different pictures too.  He also called me and mom and talked for over two hours.

Other favorite bruvver gave mom a beautiful lunch at a good restaurant and a lovely pair of sparkly earrings that dangle.  And hours of his company before he went home to his wife and son.

On Duty

Kitties, Woofies, I have been terribly busy this week.  A mousie has moved in and I have been patrolling since.  I don't even get to sleep with Mom.  I come in long enough to keep her chest used to me lying on it...then leave for the night.  So far no luck.  Mom has heard me take off like a freight train occasionally and I leave furs behind, but...nothing.

This is me a little while ago.  Exhausted in the front doorway.  I had my arm over my eyes.  First time.  Keeping the daylight out. By the time mom tiptoed around to get the phone and get close enough I moved my arm!

Out and About. (Well, Mom was)

This distinguished lawyer was walking about in his office lobby. Mom spied him through the plate glass and was trying to snap his picture.  His receptionist invited Mom in to make it easier.   She did want to ask him about that heart on his side...and if it conflicted with his profession...but, she didn't.

Barrister in Dollywood.  Mom was impressed!

About That Circle

Kitties!  Several kitties asked me about my newest toy that I really enjoy.  So I made Mom get some pictures and info.

My toy is a circle!

Here's another view of it

This is the maker (US made)

Awfully blurry, but made in CA.

A New Toy

Kitties.  I would never have thought that I would love this thing but I do.  Mom stood in the store  looking at it a long long time before she bought it.  It was on sale, half price, and eventually, she thought she'd just give it to another cat if they would like it and I didn't.

It only took me a few minutes to walk over to it and get right in.  It's only 13 inches across.  Mom did the calculation and it is approx. 42 inches around.  The sides are claw worthy but I haven't explored that yet.  The sides are about 5 inches high.  Outside of the sides surrounding,  makes the claws think it's upholstery. and inside, close-clipped carpet. Of course, it's a circle with no bottom.  Just whatever mom puts it on.  I love the thing and sleep in it for an hour or so.
