Girl Day

Mom had her girl day yesterday with my Client's mom.  I'm her bestest girl, and she didn't take me!

They went to Pandora first.  She has so many charms on her Pandora bracelet that she couldn't take it up onto her arm.  Too many rounder charms.  So she bought yet another silver bracelet but this one is open so that one can quickly get it on.  She has small wrists and hands but just too too many charms.

They window shopped...always fun us for girls to do.  (not that I was invited or anything!!) Then, they went to Applebees for lunch.  Mom had the grilled chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli.  She went through all the pictures on her Client 's mom's yelly-o-fone to see the vacation pictures they took in AZ.  There were so many, that Mom took the longest in YEARS to eat her lunch.  The knife and fork were set down after each bite to keep scrolling and talking about the pictures.  Mom's occupation was such that she never got to be still or silent for any but a minute maybe (really) so she and her colleagues were used to stuffing something to eat into their mouths..and continuing with that they had to do.  Hurry Hurry.  This was a pleasure...eating slowly the way you are supposed to do.

I'm making mom go out.  She bought a new brand of food for me.  I ate it as though I had been starving for years... I licked the bowl clean each time.  BUT-- the other side of the coin is:  LOTS of horking.  Lots.  It is not agreeing with me.  Mom is stopping the food now.

Bye.  Making mom leave.  I'm back under the silly bed.

Brovver saw these while taking his early morning walkie before he gets into his vehicle and drives to his school.  His text to mom under the picture said "Class started earlier than I thought!"  (it was 6am by the way)

Yesterday

Mom got to take me in for my claw cutting.  She closed the doors to both other bedrooms and I had to stay in my room most of the day.  As a consequence, I am again glued UTB, but coming out for meals and some loves.  We'll have to go through it again and that's only if I quit with the UTB stuff.  It isn't out of fear.  It's just where I love to nap.

We badly needed rain.  We got a little..maybe quarter of an inch maybe  Mom said the yard is browning.  We went from continuous rain to NO rain.

I'm even UTB this evening and last night I was there till bedtime Making up for being shut out all day.  I wish for Mom that I didn't feel the compelling need to do this.  But I do.

Not today

Mom was gonna have a girl day with her DIL till about 15 minutes ago, but my Client got sick so...mom is about to head out alone and get into something! Wish you kitties and woofies were along! Keep her from being lonesome.  The stores may be surprised, but we don't care!

Happy Birthday to mom's sistah Pam of Two Spoiled Cats.  Mom and Pam's birthdays are the 25th.  They are two peas in a pod in a lotta ways.  Teddy and I will have our own celebration in this great sunpuddle I have here! We don't need them!

Teddy....I'm waiting for ya.........

Hoo Boy again!!! Wow.

Mom and Brother went off to lunch Saturday with the other brother..we ate at our fave restaurant.  Then, we headed to other brother's home and had cake and gifties!  Mom had one and a half pieces of cake and she foundered!  Her belly didn't recover till about 7 p.m.  She had two of the chicken fingers then, that she made for supper and a spoon of mashed potatoes & that about did her in.  Now today, she is back to normal.

Brother went back to Charlotte and Mom will miss him so much.  Me too.   I brought him Floppy Mousie.  Mom got Donkey.

Mom told you I take up a lot of bed!

This is a tad fuzzy.  But it is a gift mommy got yesterday among others.  It's all three of my brothers- and her grandson's birth flowers.  And the red stone denotes the ruby birthstone of her daughter-in-law.

Mom said her cake was her fave...yellow with chocolate icing.

Oh BOY!

Oh BOY!  My brother is coming to see me, er...us tonight.  He can't leave till after the school day, so it will be about 10 when he gets here this evening. Unfortunately, he can't stay except till Sunday morning but it's for a little while and we can't wait, mom and me.

Mom is making him chicken fingers for Saturday night after we return from my other brother 's house mid afternoon.  We will try to stream the football game so that we can have each other to cheer for the VOLS.  The thing is, always through the years when they get all worked up watching the games- even if it's just mom & me here...that screeching and jumping up scares the fur off us cats! If I am on her lap, she has to be still and quieter

But look at me!  I will join them this time!!!

Sunpuddle Day,

Kitties!  The sun is out though it is still kind of cold in the house from the low of 53.  Mom set the heat not to come on during the night unless it got to under 68 in here.  It was just that when she finally got up.

She set up a baffle so I couldn't lie on her head for a while.  She was sleepy during the day as I don't allow undisturbed sleep.   I was very disappointed by the baffle and I still tried to get around it which made mom feel badly.  BUT she slept till 7!!! And she was not sleepy the entire day.  Last night was the third night with the baffle.  Mom said sometimes she has to do something to survive.

This was Admiral, the Tortie who came before.  She was careful always to sleep on Mom's side of the bed.
Notice my, Katie's, side and the Admiral's and Robin's, and Hopping John's side...untouched.

Kitties

Kitties!  You may recall me making Mom write about a pretty girl cat who used to come over here frequently, rest on our deck, and lie out in our yard and sidewalk enjoying the sun.  I made Mom take a picture of her and put it here.

It worried all of us here because we didn't know what was up with her over here so much.  She seemed to belong to the unfriendly people next door.  And mom and I rarely see her now. Just occasionally.

I made Mom post a picture of her here.  She was unafraid of mom and never ran from her, which made me think that though she may have lacked inside care and we wondered about a Vet when needed...still, she looked fed and not abused.  Mom tried to engage the kids, but they told untruths.  The grandma did too as did the mother of the kids.

I made mom tell you she saw the cat run across the street following the boys when they went over to the bus stop for school.  One of them immediately dropped to sitting on the sidewalk cudding and loving on the cat.  Who loved it.  Since then, I have seen both boys pick her up gently in their yard and baby carry her inside-- I am guessing.  She allows and welcomes the contact.

I meowed to my mom here to tell all of our friends that we needn't worry about her, as she seemed to have the boys in her paw.  Not sure about the girl child, though she certainly doesn't dislike the cat.  But the boys seem smitten.  I'm sure the family needs a lot of guidance about cats, but they are unfriendly, so....

Today is the first anniversary of the day my favorite brovver flew away to Heaven.  We remember him lovingly every second of every day.  Just blow a smoochie to mom and me.  That's all we need; no response about him  XO 💗

Oh Good Grief!

Mommy told me there is no such thing as good grief! But still I say it!

The man came by to measure the verticle blind...96 inches...and he told me that a new valance was in order too.  Sigh.  Extra money.  But, the worst thing he said that struck my kitty heart (mommy calls it a Valentine) was it will be a good MONTH for Pete sake before it is changed!  A  m-o-n-t-h!!! What will I do to see my birdies and squirrels out there on the deck?  That stinks.  And mom doesn't like it either on accounta it's darker in the living room. All the zillions of huge very very tall trees out there make it darker.

My whole family will remember this forever.  Mom had to work.  But she was on a day off when she was standing there watching GMA and saw it happen.  I wasn't thought of yet, but Admiral saw it too.

Sunday Selfie

 Kitties!  Woofies!  What a week.

Mom finally got over whatever it was, and she's full of energy now.  Me, I am full of wanting some of those cinnamon donut holes with the custard filling.  Oh, Mom's mouth is watering just typing for me.  BUT, she doesn't eat that stuff she said though she happily surrendered and had "I'll have just one" and that turned into four before I could snap one up. (if she had let me)  She said of all the junk food she has ever had, those were the top of the top!  She quit stuff like that years ago.  She sees how easily she could get into it again if she didn't have the nerve and the will of steel.  ('Course, she knows as do I, that steel doesn't have either, but it expresses how hard it is not to go to that fast food place and get a bag of the suckers, they are that good.)

Mom said to tell you that it is true.  You can get over sugar addiction if you do without for two weeks.  Then, you cease craving and can easily walk on by.  Worked for her.

Welp. Here I am for the Selfie with Cat on my Head.

Who Turned out the Light?

Mom can't open the verticle blinds that look out into the woods and the deck.  They closed and left about two feet still open.  I guess after all this time, it was going to happen.  I hate it.  Mom does too.  But I do even more,  I have had so much of my universe here changed with this and that when the blinds stayed mostly closed.  There went one of my favorite 24 hrs observation posts.  The blind's person was supposed to come and measure etc. and mom already paid for that part..but they never called.  It's a box store so "I am not concerned too much" she said.

My other thing is not being used to mom's grandson being here many days of the week the past 5 weeks.  My routine has completely changed, so I have taken refuge UTB.  Mom washed the blankie on my recliner (grandson's scent)  and now, finally... after a month, I lay in it last night..had a long luxurious bath, and went to sleep.  Been too long.  Napped next to Mom on the couch too.  Didn't spend as much time UTB either.

Meanwhile, a colleague of Mom's stopped by the other day to give her an early birthday gift.  And, brought some custard-filled cinnamon sugar balls along as well.  (Taco Bell) .  Mom never eats that kind of stuff...not in a long time, but I watched her have three.  There were nine more in a little bag! I couldn't get enough of that fragrance in the bag, ever.   And for the first time, I almost raided the bag...over and over I tried  They finally had to fold it tightly closed but I stayed to sniff and ask for some.  I circled them on the couch and followed that enticing scent.  And licked fingers.

what's IN there Momma?
Mom was here Tuesday getting a flu and covid test.  But she didn't have either.

The cinnamon smell is
 so alluring!!

No one gave me any of those little donut-hole-sized scrumptious things!!

My Stepping Stool

Gosh, I heard mom say that what with having to get onto a stool to get into bed, she feels like royalty in the 1600-1700's. The edge of the bed does come up to her waist.  Oh,  If anyone ever wondered, behind the head of the bed that is an animal parchment from Spain.   Real parchment. Got it while still there.  It is a manuscript, in Latin and has some music notes on it.

Mom said she was sicker than two dogs yesterday and through the night and when she got up this morning  But she does feel some better now.  She even washed her hair.  I'm waiting for her to go into the bathroom and blow dry it.

I know she wants to go get all the stuff into her hair, so, I'll let her go.   Happy Day, furriends.

Whew! A Lot Going On.

Kitties, there's a lot going on...or was, that needed my attention but I gotter done!  All mom's used-to-be-beautiful lavender azaleas died of some  type of lichen.  They barely had a few blooms this Spring.  The Dogwood died too of old age.  They don't live much past 100 years of age.  Mine was about that age.  So a man has been here removing all of them.  Ten bushes, which makes us sad.

Over by the mirror is Fat Pink Mousie.   Near the bottom left is my Skinny Floppy Mousie! Fat Pink Mousie has been sadly neglected for a long time but!!! Last night I brought him and Skinny Floppy Mousie in to our bedroom! I announced it too.  An Announcement per Mousie. Admiral and her two watch cats are on the dresser keeping watch.  Donkey was busy in the living room and declined coming in.

We are going to join the blog hop Cat on my Head with Sunday Selfies.
