Mom had her best best best best friend in the entire world to visit us today. A fellow colleague whose friendship is one of those you read about. That was wonderful enough for her...but for me...I was all over her like paint on a wall. I always do. I LOVE her...don't know why. I am not usually a cat who is demonstrative toward women...just men, but while I always greet and give side rubs to ladies, Pat was one I practically adopted right on the spot.
Mom meant about the friendship- that theirs is a friendship that transcends time. Meaning if they don't see OR talk to one another for a few years...the minute they do..it's like they were never apart. I wish I felt that way about my cat friends and acquaintances out there in the yard!!! But it's "Goodbye Charlie" to them whenever I see them. Now, Kozmo, Austin, Spitty ...Oh MY! I was about to have a little romance with Rumpy but he has been away from his tunnel, so I haven't seen him for several weeks now Maybe he will drop by.
I just wanted to drop by your homes before I made mom get into bed. I will start pacing any time now.

Katie, you are a brave Kitty to visit with people that come into your humans house. I would never let them see me hey, I'm just a ghost, a gray ghost. It sounds like a lovely visit for your mom and her best friend.

I have 2 friends, Annette and Sally, much like your Mom's Pat. No matter how long between visits are talking we pick up where we left off. Admiral was a most beautiful Tortie.
Oh I have report on the Fancy Feast mystery. Today was Grocery day for me. There was a sign where Fancy Feast canned cat food used to be. It reads 'our apologies we have a long term shortage of this food'. There is black hole on the selves. No other explanation. I just don't understand why there are not other canned food (dog or cat) shortages.

Mom bean says she has friends like your Mom's Pat. They don't come to visit though so I don't know if I like them.

Friends like that are GOLDEN. Some people only have ONE or maybe TWO people in their lives like that. I think you KNOW that Miss Pat is special to your Mom and we cats can FEEL love and friendliness and kindness and concern and all that good stuff when these special people touch us. I'm glad that your Mom still is able to see her "bestie" from time to time. It's kind of like getting a battery recharge when that happens (my Mom says so).

Your human is lucky! My human has never had a best friend. Good friends, yes, but never a best friend. Well, except for me.
Petcretary has 2 friends like that and since we are all hundreds or thousands of miles apart, you would think we would lose touch, but nope, we just resume where we left off!
