In Mamma's Chair...Like it or Not, I told her.

Kitties!  It's raining hard again. Mom wants to head out again, but she just washed her hair and  she said she doesn't want to get it all messed up with windy rain.  Like that would bother ME! Not.   Her hair is long though.  Mine is too, but not like hers.

So, here I am, and here I will stay instead of my own chair...the recliner. Mom'll have to deal.

Yes?  Is there something I can do for you?

She wants to drift off if she gets into the recliner and I am on her lap which-- is why she doesn't want to do that. The warmth and the purring just knocks her out of "D" and shifts her into "N".  She won't actually nap.  She opens an eye between  my purrs and sees what the minute hand says.  She'll close her eyes and look every couple of minutes until 10-15 minuets tops, is up,   Then, she gets active again because to fall asleep means lying there in the bed at night waiting hours to go to sleep she said.  Me, don't have that issue.

All chairs in your house belong to you, Katie; your mom should know that!

Our biped laughed about her hair (not unkindly). Before the pandemic the biped fussed over her hair all the time, fretted about it being a mess in the wind, etc. Now she doesn't much care anymore, other than it's clean and not a rat's nest. She's actually growing it just long enough to tie it back so she won't have to think about it. That never would have happened during "normal" life. LOL.

Take care, Derry sends purrs to you both.

You look very comfortable. You mom will have to find somewhere else to sit.

Our Mom loved afternoon naps, but since she has retired, she has hardly had one! The days she does want a nap are the days she has been travelling! We hope you guys have a marvellously happy week!

I don't have that issue either. I am a sleepy sort- I can nap and sleep fine at night. XO

It looks like you were there way ahead of your mum anyway, Katie. Tell her that there are other chairs...

You look very comfy on that chair, Katie. No way should your mom make you move.

What can you do, Katie? Humans just don't think like cats do.

Dearest Katie Isabella,
Oh, there is absolutely NO doubt that you are the queen of the house and you own it!
Lovely photo and as I type here, Speckie girl is right in front of me.
She was hindering me from working on Mom's letters for arranging them in a Pdf, was working on 1985... But she told me to stop!
Speckie can become quite bossy at times but I do love her.
Big hugs from all seven of us, humans and kitties xoxo

TBT likes us (Marley and Ayla) to be on his lap. Not that he doesnt want Laz, but Laz isn't a lapcat (yet). But HIS problem is that his legs get pained after a while and he has to switch from left to right (or right to left) and that bothers US so we hop down.

Iza used ta sleep on The Lap like a baby Bein and could be lifted while he changed legs. She would hardly even wake up and resettled immediately.

Your recliner made a perfect substitute bed! A throne actually!
Petcretary has the same issue with naps...

Well, that looks just about right, Katie. You on your throne, and all your toys spread out before you, ready for You, whenever you want them. Just right for a rainy day...

Too bad humans cannot go to sleep as easily as we cats and just enjoy a catnap ;)
MOL!

I say whoever claims a spot has a perfect right to be there and should NOT be made to give up their chosen SPOT. You may have to resort to giving your Mom the "stink eye" if she acts like she's going to make you abandon ship.

Oh Katie you look like you had the best seat in the house. Lynn is just like you Mom and doesn't want to nap during the day. Lynn has to go to sleep early so she can get up with me before Dawn and start my breakfast. I don't worry about mom here but I do worry about getting my hair combed every day of the week.

You look settled in Katie, and I suspect you won't be disturbed!

Katie you look so very comfy there I cant imagine Mom asking you to move. She will just have to tough it out and maybe set an alarm on her phone. Come on Mom you can do it!

Thank goodness moms know that if chairs are claimed, there's no further discussion. Your mama has a strict no-napping policy, so that would definitely leave more chair choices for you, KI. My mom doesn't nap either, but she will often claim a comfy chair and read or meditate or do computer work in it. Rude!

Love and licks,
Cupcake

Katie Isabella you might need to remind Mom that what is her is YOURS and what is yours is YOURS too.

Yes, we kitties have no problem sleeping anytime of day or night. We're sure happy to be cats and not beans!
