Freezing Friday

Kitties and Woofies, mom has had to go out and cover the tomatoes and petunia again.  Last week we had 5 in a row frost warning nights,; and yesterday, another came in on mom's watch so she hauled the covering things out again.  Coldish in the house too, though the furnace still comes on some.

I have had brother here over night and he will go home tomorrow.  Mom and I will get the housework done after he leaves, and I will take an exceptional bath  in all the sunpuddles because I have had my furs smooched off.

Just wanted to wish every kittie and woofie a good weekend.  Enjoy it.  Never take beauty, and nature's gifts for granted.  Be grateful.

Coming Soon

Mom was contacted by the surgery coordinator at my own Doctor's office; and the second Monday in May I get my dental.  I know mom worries.  A lot.

Mom saw the first hummingbird at our home yesterday.   She gets so happy when they come to the feeder.  She loves cooking nectar for them and watching them at their "table" enjoying their meal.  1 cup of white cane sugar..not brown sugar, and not ever ever artificial sweetener, to 4 cups water, bring to a boil...take off heat and cool.   No food coloring.  It has been positively proven that the red on the feeder itself is sufficient to draw them.  Mom has seen that is true year after year.  Store in the fridge.  Doing it this way , bringing to a boil, helps preserve the nectar a while longer  out there in the warmth than not bringing it to a boil.  When it hot, change the nectar and wash the feeder out every 4 days, tops.  Make sure the feeder holes are clear.  Tiny brushes to run through and clean the holes while cleaning the feeder, are available at the larger pet supply stores-or Amazon.

I made mom put that in as she is usually asked at least once each year what she does to feed them.  And by the way, I LOVE hummingbird TV!

Leopard DID come back.  Mom tried hard to not have him between the pillows,  but it was necessary.  We'll keep trying.

Not looking forward to the dental.  I wish I didn't have to do that.  My lab bloods came back good for my senior exam a week ago.  Thyroid values have barely begun to be in the 'gray zone' (not into the 'red')  so to speak, and will bear watching.   No physical signs as yet...increased thirst etc. Mom will take me for Iodine 131 as time passes if need be.  The separation will be hard on us both when that time comes. When Robin went for the radioactive iodine in the late 90's it was 10 days.  I think it's a little less nowadays.

That's our Family Newsletter today.  XX

Well, Foo!

Kitties!  I say FOO!  Or even RATS! Or even Grrrr.

Two nights by Mama's head.  I loved it.  Leopard had gone on a vacation.  Packed his bags, left a note and said he'd be reachable by cell phone if an emergency required his attention.  That first night, I was perched on mom's chesticles, but left when the light went off  I came back a little while later..walked to her head as I had indeed noticed no Leopard.  I got between the pillows and rested my forehead against mom's.  Heaven for both of us.  She went totally straight to sleep.  Each time she woke in the night, I was there with my warm forehead attached to hers.  The next night, the same.  Heaven.  Last night however, I was back in that old position that causes trouble for her and is uncomfortable for her as well.

When we rose this morning, I had a bad feeling she had sent a VM to Leopard for his return.  I have a feeling he may be here tonight.  Between the pillows.    But Kitties and Woofies, the first  two nights were just sublime for us both.

Just telling of my weekend.  Please, remember and purr and purray for TW.  Mom and I are sending much love and prayers for her, Pop, and CK.

One two, I'll Chew Your Shoe...Three Four, when you're Out the Door...

Kitties, I decided to nibble mom's shoe this morning.  Like to keep her on her toes!

My sunpuddle today

BOTH arms stacked and in the box

Mom always smooches my cheek

Mom...ever hear of mowing?

Mom doesn't care where they've been.  They get smooched.

The Day of Reckoning!

swiped from Face Book

Kitties!  I went to the v-e-t and guess what?  They allowed mommy in with me.  I had to get there an hour early so I could be given the syringe of gabapentin.  The tech came out to do that in the car with me in my PTU, with mine and mom's approval.  We waited together in the car..mom sat in the back seat with me.  We were hotter than an egg in the frying pan with the sun beating in on us.  Mom had to run the a/c half of that hour wait time.  (Having to sit around inside without me would have been too stressful and the gabapentin didn't work the past two times because of it).

So, we sat and I dozed.  After an hour mom was invited to bring me in and to my suite. I was in a towel but I was not 'burritoed'.  I was hissing, but as I was being examined mom lifted the corner of the towel and said "Mom's here".  I looked at her immediately and quit fussing.  When the time for the blood test came I hollered some and cussed .  Only one loud shout though.  The cussing continued with me telling  them their ancestry.  Mom kept speaking to me and touched my face.  I swore at them when I got the vaccines too. They were certainly aware that they were violating the QUEEN.

They remarked that it was noted that while I engaged in sailor talk for the blood test,  I  had never tried to bite or scratch.  Ever.

Kitties, I have to have top right fang removed.  Really, my left one too. They both "dropped" a bit, one more than the other,  and the right one's tip shows when my mouth is closed. Mom will have to schedule the dental and the excision.

Things went very well and I'll have that drug that starts with a P when the dental is done...  p-r-o-p something or other. So, I won't have worry about that horrible reaction to the other drug.

Here I was day before yesterday, asleep with my headie on my puzzle box.

Good Times

Kitties!  Good times are here for a little longer.  All my brovvers off and on,  and mom to pay attention to me.

The brovver from over the mountains and Mom have gone up to the park each day.  They're picking 'em up and laying 'em down.

Today in half an hour mom will take me to the v-e-t.  I am supposed to get my shots; and if they can, my physical.  Mom would let them make me doze, but after last year and what happened, she is scared to death of that.  It took me months to stop being afraid of everything and act normal.

Look at me hard at work at my puzzle box.  Mom used to put toys in it but now, 6 or so kibbles and I pick them up with my paw and bring them to my mouth, or bat them out and eat them.  My paw goes in and out of those holes so fast that mom is going to make a video of it.

We'll be headed out soon.  Mom and I will have to sit in the car being too hot while the gabapentin takes effect.  Then,  I go in by myself again for the treatment.  I wish they would get OVER that!

Here I am  completely exhausted after diving for fuds late afternoon...I fell over  exhausted with my hand still in the box. Brovver's foot is there. And a wiggly sunbeam.

Riches

Kitties!  I have riches to come!  One favorite brovver is coming to see me from over the mountains.  The other just left me, but he'll be back and we will ALL three brovvers be there for my Client's 6th birthday.  It was on March 30, but we were having his family only pawty on April 3. Everyone will be here then.  My client no longer eats my foods or tries to swim in my water bowls.  Or tries to excavate my litter box.  I have had little to bring the Supreme Cat Court!  Nothing really.  So I have been concentrating on other feline cases that have been brought to me.  My Client has me on retainer however.

Other brovver will be here tomorrow and I will be the only Hostess to greet him at first.  Mom will be in the big city with another brovver until mid afternoon.  Then she will come home and see this favorite brovver.

Here is my Client...swiping my food!  Mommy isn't seen in this one...that's my Client's mommy.
