Good Night Nurse..or Something + An Update re: Washer!

Mom is having a not terrific time.  The door salesman who came yesterday quote over 8 thousand dollars for a plain front door.  He showed her a nicer one with glass in the design.  Pretty.  Mom liked it and me too.  I could see out of some of it.  Eight thousand bordering on 9.  He had all the geegaws and furbelows in it.  Mom had to say buh bye!  I'll make her go to Home Depot  to see what they can do~~~ and she'd rather run nekkid down Main St. than go to them, but...I will make her.

Then while I was whining for my usual boatload of treats and following her everywhere and helping while she washed her hair, did the usual with it, dried it, ironed it..blah blah and me whining constantly to have my way...she heard a sound which turned out to be the new washer knocking as it was severely unbalanced...with a light medium load of T shirts, undies, hand towels, one bath towel and the microfiber sheets and cases.  NO reason for a several month old LG washer to go crazy BUT!  it did.  Not her best day.  She called someone and they are on their way to see what the matter is.

Now I know.  The Suspension Rod died.  It is still under warranty so I went to the store and asked about what to so  They said since it is under a year, they will do it.  Maybe any time from Saturday to Tuesday.   I will get ready to go to a public dryer  :-(

I'm napping but dictating nonetheless...and she woofed down something to eat before they get here.

Grrrr is what she said.  I said " I want my treats."  (she gave them to me several hours ago, but more would be nice.)

The washing machine is a major headache, but the million dollar door is ridiculous. It'd be cheaper to build a time machine, go back to the Middle Ages and have a carpenter build one for you for a few shillings. What on Earth does a door need with any kind of accessory?

WOW Katie Isabella that door man sure thought he had doors made of gold.
I think HD or Lowe's are good ideas.
What the heck with the new washer. I sure do hope the repair came lickety split. March went out like a lion at your house. I hope April is nicer

Katie, that's a ridiculous price for a door, and I shudder to convert that to my country's currency. 😲

Tell your mom I'm sending lots of good vibes and hoping the door and washer issues get resolved to her satisfaction.

Katie, tell yer mommy to get a metal wash board and a bucket and don't let it tip over. Then git a sheet of plywood and hammer it onto to old door and slap on some white wash. Viola! New washer, new door. 'course both at today's prices may still cost her her eye teeth.

OMC looks like you have a bad start of April, you sure need some extra treets for it, sweet Katie😺Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to you and your mommy too🐾😘💞

Oh, that sounds like a dreadful start to the month, Katie and Mom. We are sorry, and hope things get better from here. That door estimate seems outrageous (though we do not speak from actual knowledge about such things). We are glad that the washer is at least still under warranty. And that you, Katie, got your treats. Love and hugs to you both.

That's a crazy cost for a door, yikes! Poor Mom, I guess LG stands for Long Gone. Nothing lasts long these days. Hooray for treats sweet Kate!

Sorry your mom is having a bad week. That is outrageous for the door. Our dryer was broken last week and i had to go to the laundromat- it was a learning experience. I had to purchase a card and use that to run the dryer instead of coins. XO

It's always something that either needs to be replaced or fixed!

Yikers, Katie, I can't help but wonder if the date doesn't have something to do with this .... If not, wow, we sure hope it all gets sorted soon. You wanting more treats, Katie, that sounds good! We love to hear that you want to eat!

That's some serious do-re-me to spend!

I'm hoping you can get a door for a much more reasonable amount and hoping the washer gets fixed quickly. If it's not one thing, it's another.

I sure hope this was an April H+Fool's post...otherwise, well, never mind. It's also a full moon...which seems to make crazy things happen, at least it does as far as life rhythms at the nursing home are concerned. One staff lady said sh e thinks there is a permanent full moon hovering over our campus, LOL! (I am glad I didn't have to work on the first...but I do have to go there later today.)

WOWZERS.....that front door quote included a gold plated welcome mat right? As for the LG washer - that's usually a RELIABLE name brand. At least it's a freebie fix but should not have happened. "They don't make things the way they used to" is what we say. Again we say "WOWZERS" !! Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

That is a ridiculous price for a door. The salesman sounds more like a conman! I hope the washer is fixed by now. Happy Easter to both of you.

Java Bean: "Ayyy, for that price, the door had better open onto something that's bigger on the inside and travels through time and relative dimensions in space!"
Lulu: "We had one of the rods go on our washing machine. The machine is pretty old and the rod would've been hundreds of dollars from the manufacturer, but Mama and Dada's repair guy suggested getting a third-party one online so the washer could limp along for a while longer. So far, so good!"

Darn, Katie. Your mom sure wasn’t having a good day. We hope she can find a less expensive door and the washer fixers come sooner than later. Glad you finally got your treats.

That's a crazy price for a door! #1 looked it up here and they're half that in France! What are your favourite treats, Katie?

We owned a window, siding and door business and that is an exorbitant price for a door unless you are looking for something really spectacular with leaded glass, etc. I'm with Katie-Go to Home Depot and see what they have. You can also look online for Home Depot doors before you even go there. Sorry about the washer...that's too bad that it already needs to be fixed. Diana

Whenever we've needed minor repairs on our washer or dryer, those folks advise us to do everything in our power to hang onto them. These Kenmore heavy duty units were installed in 1994! These days I only wash in cold water and dry on low. Oh, and I stopped leaning on the open dryer door to reach inside. lol I'm sorry for your sweet mom's troubles. Best wishes, my dear.

What in heaven's name is that door made of? 24 carat gold???
That sounds like a scam!
Katie, We hope you get lots and lots of treats. Happy Easter!
