Kitties! I have never had a worse time than I did Christmas Eve. Mom went to the front door to check for mail and the burglar alarm went off with all its decibels roaring. It was horrible. Brother came running...she slammed the door shut and went to the panel. Mom said I should keep this short and cut to the chase. The phone was ringing and it was answered by brother who told the alarm company that nothing we did would silence it. And the shrieking was horrific. They finally helped us silence it after going thru words and whatever was set up before.
Mom went to the door while brother was talking and re-opened it, only to have set it off again. She saw me about then, and I was petrified. They silenced it again, and mom opened the door a third time and the same horrible thing happening again. No...she did not set the alarm nor had she for some time. They silenced it and mom had to go to the side door and try. It was silent. We told them we couldn't be trapped in the house without moving for days till their office opened with techs being dispatched. A tech called and it would seem that the remote in my purse was accidentally set to "alarm"by my rummaging around in my purse...at 1728 the former day. There was no count down on the side door to warn mom that the alarm was set. There was no delay on the front door hence it went off instantly.
Mom and brother who came from over the mountains were very concerned for me as I was showing fear and anxiety and you know that hurt my ears terribly. Mom was finally allowed by me to love on me a LOT after an hour or so. I always get lovins but the next 24 hours were packed with them and snug hugs...plenty of them.
I seem OK now she said.

Oh how terrible sweet Katie, that noise is so unpleasant. Purrs and hugs to you from all of us.
horrid, i hate that fing
Oh my gosh, that must have been terrible! Poor Katie! We hate changing the smoke alarm batteries, because the sound is so loud.
Horrible, Katie. Let's hope this means no Leopard in bed
tonight. Mom needs to be sure you get lots of hugs and quiet.
I can't stand the door bell to ring or the vacuum, so I would
just leave home if we had an alarm! Precious
Poor Katie! I can't stand shrieking noises and your hearing is so much more sensitive.
Yikes! That must have been so scary!
I purr the issue is now fixed and your ears will get some quiet.
Purrs, Julie
Oh, poor Katie! What a terrible Chrissymouse Eve you had! We hope Santa Paws left you lots of prezzies to make up for it!
Oh Katie! That sounds perfectly ghastly!
Comforting Purrs,
Tama and Genji
Oh Katie, I am so sorry. I know that just awful.
Oh Katie! That sounds horrible!! We’re glad that you now are okay.
That must have been yucky yuck yuck. And scary for the humans.
You do seem fine on the photo, mighty fine if you ask us.
Ugh! I can only imagine how much that must have hurt your ears, Katie. I'm glad you recovered from the experience without too much trouble.
A most frightening and unnerving experience for you, Katie. And to happen over the Yuletide makes it worse. I hope you are recovered now, and that it will never be repeated.
Oh no! Katie! ThT sounds like a horrible experience! I, Kozmo, shall tunnel through tonight and spend the night to protect you!
Head bonks your Kozmo
Oh Katie! I'm so sorry you had your delicate ears assaulted by a shrieking banshee of a sound over and over and over again! I do hope that never ever happens again. I'm sure your Mom and brovver tried to make things OK with you after that scary experience. I bet it never EVER happens again.
Hugs, Teddy
Dear sweet Katie Isabella...I am quite familiar with the shriek of which you speak...
that evil wench has visited here once or twice too. She sounds like an air raid siren on steroids. I thought Dad of angel madi was gonna rip the control box out of the wall...I'm so sorry you were so traumatized.
Hugs to you and your family
Cecilia
OMGoodness, KI. That really WAS a bad BAD sound. Thank goodness your mom, brovver, and the alarm guy got it squared away. Mom loves to eat burned food, so we have the smoke alarm triggered way more than we should. I run to the balcony door and wait for her to open it so I can wait out there till she makes it stop. I have a feeling the house alarm is much worse than that. When they test the apartment fire alarms in our building, Mom takes me to the park or to BigDonald's for an ice cream sundae. TOO SCARY for us delicate girls!! Stay safe.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Oh goodness Katie, that does sound awful...for you especially and the beans too. Glad it has been resolved!
Make sure you milk the extra snuggles and loving for awhile yet. :)
Good gad, Katie...how awful for you all!
And someone needs to put their purse in a cat-free zone...
How horrible!
Both Mum and I hate shrieking sounds. Humans invent the most horrid things.
Sending purrs xx
Oh no, that's horrible, Katie san. That loud, very loud sound must have been really scary. Fire alarm here went off one day and somehow "silence" button didn't work. So the alarm went on and on and fire truck came to the house. It was terrible. Poor kitties were scared :-(
I'm glad you seem OK now. I hope you have a nice and quiet week :-)
Oh my Katie that was quite an ordeal and so scary! I'm glad you are okay now, though.
Oh Katie that is so scary and not just once! We are so glad you got loving and hope you are feeling better
What a terrible noise, but thankfully not a permanent one
Goodness Katie ! We hope you feel better and everyone else has settled down too.
You poor baby! We're glad the issue was finally resolved. We can only imagine how nerve-wracking that was for all!
You poor kitty. I hope your mom moved the guard leopard on the bed that night. XO
I hate the noise of any type of alarm. Can't even imagine being unable to silence one. We're glad the chaos is resolved and everyone is feeling calmer now.
Oh you dear girl! That's horrible. Mom sets off the smoke detector sometimes and that freaks me out. You know, now that I think of it, when I read this post's title it made me think of bad sounds I hear from dad when he eats too many apples or something. Just walks around the house making bad sounds. Any way, Happy New Year!!
What a terrible occurrence - all that scary noise and humans running about.
Stopping by to send some love and Happier New Year wishes.
xxoo
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, Rufus the Red and Ernie No!
Hey Katie, tell your Mom I responded to her email if she didn't see it.
O, Katie, that sounds really horrible, but we're glad that it's over now..phew!
Pawkisses for a Happy New Year to the both of you and big twofeet too🐾😽✨
