We'll See About That Mom

Kitties, I am entitling this Now and Later.  Mom did actually.  We will see about that.

Last night at 0335 I reached to pat her eyes as I always do, and my nails are so long and sharp I scratched her eyelid and woke her.  It stung a lot.  So she got up to look.  When she came back to bed she made a decision to use a sleep mask until I get my nails done.

She drags her feet because she hates stressing me but she can't allow damage to her eyes.

I had my face all the way up to hers when she came back...face to face...and I tried to gently pat her face, but she woke instantly from the doze she was in, to block it.  She called and they had room at 1245!  So in half an hour, mom hopes to scoop me up and take me in.  It's a 20 min drive on a good day.  Gonna be a Burrito.

Katie, a sleep mask?!? Wow!
Am thinking that I need ear plugs, since someone somewhere in our neighborhood starts banging on something at 5 am every morning...eeks!

Dearest Katie Isabella,
LOVE that pink tongue out, so sweet. Our Bandido does that a lot too!
Good grief, this is dangerous and YES you have to have a manicure and a short one.
Tell Mom that yesterday when I was in the office seriously studying all about self-publishing a book (what a TASK!) that I heard a kitty talk...
I got up and saw Spunky looking up, she was in her beddy on the the stool next to the office door. Speckie stood in the hallway looking and there comes MIYA the neighbor cat walking out of our bedroom, past me and talking still and then running! Could not believe my eyes.
Feel so sorry for this kitty that gets NO love, no CARE, no attention at home and he probably hears from ours the story how life is here.
But also hate the smell inside our garage... where he constantly sprays and he does it also against our car windows when he's up on the hood... Pieter told me to be quiet as we don't want to endanger our babies out of fear for revenge. There is nothing what we can do!
So Katie Isabella, keep that in mind that a burrito means only CARING LOVE! There are others that would want to break in to live your life...
Hugs,
Mariette

Ah yes, the spa treatment. You don't want to hurt your mom, do you? Sometimes kittehs just have to rise above.

We hope you didn't get too scared or worked up and that your mom's eyes are okay.

My human is so glad I'm good about claw trims, so she never has to deal with the sharpies.

Hope the pedicure went ok. I don't mind mine - my momma does em.

OH! The betrayal! You show your Mom love and then THIS! How can she live with herself? My Momma is super lucky that we are so "easy" when it comes to clipping claws (and easy is very relative in this case - we both make her bleed - it's just not a major smackdown). I claw Momma's eyelid too - but what really gets her going is a claw up the nose. I'm brilliant. However, perhaps I could get some pointers from you to make it impossible for my Momma to clip my claws? She HATES taking me and Smellie anywhere so she'd probably never take us to get our claws clipped ... at least not until I pierce her nose. ~Bear Cat

Oh Miss Katie, you are so fulsome with your love for your momma! A bit too fulsome, maybe, but what the heck!! ❤️❤️❤️

Well you can put up with the burrito treatment for the sake of your Mom's eyes right? I know she loves that you are UP CLOSE AND PURRRRRRSONAL when you sleep with her but scratching her face accidentally - well - that's not good. PLUS you'll get your nails trimmed and won't have to go through that indignity again for a long time. It's a win/win for both of you!!!!!

Hugs, Teddy

So Katie Isabella do tell us how the car ride for your pedicure went?
Did you and Mom sing the song of your people or did you just sing first soprano all the way

Eye mask is a great idea until you have your nails done. Your mom is wonderful to always make adjustments on her side for you :-) Love the photo if you with your cute tongue out :-)

Poor mom. We know you didn't mean to hurt her but with long nails you can cause some serious damage. Good luck with your appointment.

No medication??? So brave of you. And SO SO brave of your mom. I hope things went well. Mom did my nails today with the grinder. I didn't love the whole ordeal, but she gave me a Cheerio after each paw.

Love and licks,
Cupcake

Oh, Imissed this one. I hope the deed went smoothly and quickly, Katie. It needs to be done, unfortunately. You could have inadvertently caused something severe. Let us know how it went, please.

We hope that nail trim went well, Katie. You don't want to accidentally scratch Mon's eye. XO

Oh, dear! That has brought back to Mummy a worry She has often felt - about getting her EYE scratched by accident one night. Because We all have furry sharp talons, you know...

If you want to keep your front claws, then occasional pawdicures will be necessary!

Oh Miss Katie Isabella! We know you didn't mean to scratch your mom's eyelid. We bet it still stings. Purring that your appointment went well and that you don't have to worry about scratch your mom again!

We know that was an accident. It happens. Our mom is lucky with me because I sit right on her lap for nail trims. Lexy, on the other hand, is very difficult.

We have had a few close calls with Rufus when he pats me awake in the morning. Fortunately he lets me trim his claws, so it's my fault if they get too long. Katie, it would be so much more pleasant if you'd let Mommy do the job.
