Kitties! It has come to this! Behold this harbinger of old age! I will find a way to make mom pay for this embarrassment! What will the mancats say!?!
She bought it last Sunday for me when she heard (and saw) me struggle a bit leaping to the table where my brushies stuffs were laid out. I came flying in, made a leap and my poor shins were barked. Mom heard them hit the wood. That's twice. And sometimes getting into the bed, I struggle just a tench. So mom paid a horrible (I'm worth it) wad of green papers for this squishy set of steps She put Kong nip on them, and it didn't take long for me to climb. Now...whether or not I'll use them for now remains to be seen.
BAD night kitties. For a good reason, mom had to prop three pillows behind her back and mostly sit up for the night. That won't happen tonight thank goodness. But imagine me trying several times to climb up and snuggle into mom's neck and ear and shoulder. Ain't happenin'. Not when she is sitting UP! Holey Moley!! I tried THREE times...purring so hard, but she would not relent and lay DOWN so I could snuggle in!
Here I am this very afternoon enjoying my sun puddle. See my initials, KI (in orange by my shoulder) on the mat Miss Stacy made for me...Angel Stella's mommy? Mom said her girls have all had such beautiful mats quilted by Miss Stacy for them...they are still in use. Admiral's however is in an old oak library card case. With her other things. This is a new photo. I am just up here a lot.

Did your mom have heartburn? I sleep on 4 pillows and Sammy manages to get up there to play with my hair :) How sweet of your mom to get you those steps. XO
It's ok, Miss Katie, this sort of thing happens to us all. I have to use a step getting into my bed, but that's because I'm short and the bed is rather tall.
I remember Toby's need for his bed steps. He had a slow start but I was so proud the first time he used them without coaxing. After that it was just routine to him.
Dearest Katie Isabella,
You are getting the royal treatment ALL the time we see here!
Wow, those steps are so clever and I bet they will work and become your second nature SOON.
What a beauty of an initialed mat you got there!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Don't feel bad Katie...I'm not as nimble as I used to be.
Katie, how nice that your mom is thinking of you. And we bet even younger kitties would like to have their own stairs.
Don't be embarrassed, Katie. We have steps here because the human bed is pretty high. Gracie, who is 19, uses them, but so does 2 year old Ava. :)
Boodie could probably use stairs like that. But my human doesn't encourage her to jump on the bed - she is the one cat where sleeping with the humans was not a requirement. Even so, my human will wake up sometimes to see that Boodie is on the bed with us.
Oh, Katie, ♪♫♫♪those stairs are made for walking♪♫♪♫ I know, because Granny bought them for me last year. At first I didn't want to use them, but now I always do...I have to😸They are such a relief for the old bones, aren't they? Love the quilt...and you too💗 Pawkisses for a Happy Thursday sweetie🐾😽💞
Nice stairs Katie! You know I have stairs up to the sink in my Mom and Dad's bathroom so they don't have to lift me up to the "water bowl" (sink). Stairs are handy for WHATEVER reason they are there so use them and enjoy them. Doesn't mean we're old - just means we need a little help making things EASIER! Love the photo of you in the sunpuddle in the window. Comfy?
Hugs, Teddy
The steps are a great idea, Katie. I have only the one set in the basement for Nicki, but I think they can manage the new kitty condo in the living room, with the great way it's designed.
We're sorry your mom had a bad night and that you were able to snuggle. Sometimes it happens, we're all getting older, human and four-legged! :-)
Purrs to you both from Nicki and Derry
Weren't able to snuggle, I meant to type. :-)
Katie, we think that is a very nice addition and very kind of your mom, and remember, we're three boys who crush on you!
Those steps are rockin' cool, Katie!
Think I'll find some for our Angel too...I've tried to stack up heavy books for her to use, but she hates them...
Aww your mom is very thoughtful to get you those steps. Don't worry, Katie san, they are not embarrassing but something you deserve to have as a princess :-)
We use the mat made by Miss Stacy, too. It's getting ragged as it's been here for a very long time.
Have a wonderful day xo
Katie yoo lookin purrty so no worriez bout dem steppies. Ah got me one'a dem storage things next ta da bed an a steppies (not az nice az yers) for da kitchen table. Oh yez ah gotta storage thing next ta da Cat Lounger (hooman couch) too. We not gittin older we gittin better

Good idea with the pillows. Hopefully Katie will find another way to cuddle soon.
Dad Pete
Katie Isabella you are a lucky kitty to have such a loving and inventive mom.
I know some young pugs (and old) that have similar stairs...No need being embarrassed
better to have steps than a broken leg or being LEFT on the floor.
Angel Madi had a step stool up to her favorite love seat.
Hugs Cecilia
That bed looks awfully high, KI. I think the kitty staircase is just the thing to work smarter instead of harder. I hope your mama was able to get to sleep sitting up. If she has to torture you with her separation strategy, it may as well be worth it!! I lie against Mom's tummy or chest. Maybe you can leave her head alone and try that....
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Mom bean has put a stool by the side of her bed too, for Sasha. But it isn't as fancy as the one you have. We bet those soft stairs will be a great place to nap too. But, that blanket that Miss Stacey made for your is pawsome, especially in the sunpuddle! You is one lucky kitty!!
I think it was very considerate of your mum to buy that flight of stairs, Katie. It will save you a great deal of energy that can now be used for snoozing.
Katie, what a BEAUTIFUL Grand Staircase you have got! We can just imagine you gracefully walking down it, like Belle making her entrance in Beauty and the Beast!
