I Caught the Culprit.

Cold blooded (literally) and swift to attack.  I found who bit off Donkey's hoof!  See those vishus teefs?  All of Katie's little family will have to be seperated from this fiend.  Well,  maybe not fiend to be fair.  When a fella has to eat, he has to eat.  But DONKEY?  Sharkie could have gone to the fridge, but Nooooooo! Poor old  doddering Donkey was in his way.  Katie will seriously have to look for a prothesis for Donkey unless she learns that they can get along well with three hooves.

We have apologized  sincerely to Lion and Leopard.  They in turn thank you for..well, some of you, for believing in them.

Whew!  Mom needs to watch her feets at night when she puts them outside of the bedding. Oh and Donkey is braying weakly but...more frequently... so he is much better.

Apologies to Lion. Has Sharkie been gnawing on his leg too? Perhaps donkey can have a prosthetic leg made. I bet he would get along well then.

Oh, and PS, Mom, watch those legs and arms! No dangling!

Well, it makes sense: one cannot deny one's nature. Don't be too hard on him, but still...

That was really a surprise! I'm so glad Donkey is recovering.

Dearest Katie Isabella,
Sorry for having accused Lion... Maybe his hair-do was out of panic!
Wishing you all well and hoping that Donkey gets 'healed'.
Hugs,
Mariette

That's cool that you found out who it was!

Why didn't Sharkie just eat a salmon patty. There's human 3 legged races,
maybe Donkey will have his own.

I am glad you caught the culprit. I am sorry poor donkey is still in pain. I hope you can find a surgeon to sew that back on. XO

I would have never guess sweet Katie, but good for you catching the culprit!

You can’t trust a shark, Katie!

Excellent bit of deduction

Sharkie, you need to ask for tinned food; it's very tasty and safer for everyone involved. ~shakes finger *far* out of reach~ Some living snack foods fight back, you know.

And Donkey, are you milking this for sympathy? A few stitches should make you even stronger than before. :D

A shark's gotta eat, but we're with you, Katie. He coulda just went to the fridge!

Well you solved the question of "WHO" but what's to be done with poor donkey's pending loss of a foot or leg or both heaven forbid. Maybe what donkey needs is one of those little cozy PJ thingies babies wear with feet in them??? Leg protection and coziness all in one? Sharkie looks harmless enough but OH THOSE TEEFS....perhaps a fingernail file would render him less likely to chomp?

Hugs, Teddy

@ Pam and Teddy! BINGO! Great idea!!!!

YIKES we never would have suspected Sharkie! We think Teddy's idea is a good one.

I think we should cut Sharkie's belly open and see if there's a hoof in there. Then there can be a re-attachment surgery, and everybody will be as good as new.

Love and licks,
Cupcake

It's a cruel, vicious world out there!

That was a surprise but it makes perfect sense. Hopefully Donkey's foot can be repaired.

Maybe you need to put out a little bowl of crunchies for him so he doesn't bite on anyone else!

Good to hear that Donkey is on the mend. It clearly does seem that Sharkie was the guilty party. Yep, the mom bean better watch her feets!

Sharkie sure had bad manners....Ya'll best watch your own tootsies!

I'm sure Sharkie has been properly chastened and promises to never do anything like it again! He might even help Donkey get around until he's back on his hooves again.

Got to be careful with a shark in the house! Especially a land shark!

Yikes! Sharkie really does have sharp teeth!
Just make sure he does not use them on you because you have some pretty good fangs too ;)
