Why? Because even though there is no i.d. on this little one..no collar, no nothing. She obviously belongs to some home in the near neighborhood.
When mom stepped on out, the cat immediately head bonked mom's legs, wound in and out, made sweet little high pitched meows, purred. And broke mom's heart.
I am inside only and I am older now and never would tolerate a sibling. Remember how mom and I blogged quite a bit about how she had to keep the windows covered in opaque film so I wouldn't see the outside cats? For over a year? I screamed horribly and tore up blinds in all the rooms with windows facing the street.
Too, if momma went somewhere over the mountains and had started feeding this baby, she couldn't depend on a sitter. AND this loving youngster deserves laps, love and more love, more laps, beddies, toys..everything.
Mom will ask a few neighbors if they know this young love...and who she belongs to. Maybe she can make friends with the people. She will pay for a chip for the cat if her persons will do it...collar and tag. Whatever she needs.

We understand! She knows that she has to do right by YOU, Katie...and even though she would scoop this baby up and walk around with it on her head for the next 15 years, she'll find the owners or find a rescue that can help.
Oh Dear Katie Isabella...your mom is the bestest BUT you know that.
I know how she feels about not getting 'too' close. As I'm sure you would be like Angel Madi...really liked being an Only CAT!!

I'm so sorry for this situation. I know how tough it is to walk away when they reach for you. And I know how Miss Katie would absolutely not allow it.
We hope your mom can find out where that cute kitty lives. We wish humans would keep their kitties inside. It’s so much safer.

What a little sweetheart! And how sad that she doesn't have a family that cares enough about her to put a collar and ID on her, or better yet, keep her inside.
Oh she is cute.....and obviously asking for help which your Mom is being kind enough to give her. Hopefully your Mom can find her "real" home for her. Whoever she belongs to needs to keep her inside and safe. She's been lucky so far but that might change if a dog or predator finds her!!! Sending lots of hope for a home......that little one needs to be loved.

What a sweetheart and she may be perfectly OK. My cat Snowball used to visit the neighbors. She had a nice little racket going. Across the street to Mrs Dandridges for bacon then next to Mrs Dandridges at Miss Opal's for biscuits (she always brought a biscuit home with her) and then back home because by that time I was up. Snowball had a much better breakfast than I did because my Mom didn't do breakfast. Then we would go over to my neighbors for me to play with Tammy and Michael (Tammy is the one who rescued Yin and Yang) and their cats (funnily enough Snowball was fond of Fluffy and Stricker at their house but would not allow them in our yard). And since my Mom didn't allow cats in the house at night she would go over to Tammy and Michael's and Michael would let her in and she would sleep with him and Stricker. He had to get up early in the morning to let her out so she could go get her breakfast. And she always went walking with Me, Tammy, Michael and our dogs. Everyone in the neighborhood knew her.
No one is as beautiful as you Katie, but she is pretty cute. I wish she was safe inside a home though. XO

Your mom is straight up the sweetest, KI. Good that she isn't bringing in the new kitty, but she is going out of her way to help it. We love her!

A friend of mine was in a similar situation. She had a spare break away collar and she. was going to put it on the visitor with a note attached to communicate with the owners. I don't know what happened...
Recently Mickey saw an orange cat at our back door and he SCREAMED!!! No more orange cats, two is more than enough. But Mickey did adjust to Ernie after a month or so.

Oh boy! I wouldn't be able to resist so sweet and plaintive a request for loving. Hopefully your Mommy can find her people and maybe she just got lost. It's very kind of your Mommy to offer to get the girl chipped if she's not already. Do hope she's spayed and got her shots. Prayers she has a good home and pet parents who miss her.
Oh, I hate dilemmas like that. This little one is clearly socialised but does she have a home? Was she abandoned?
And Katie, it may be that seeing a cat outside is uite different from seeing one inside. It may not seem like it would be so, but it happens all the time. I'm just sayin'...
