Little Do I Know...update

Kitties, last night I came onto the living room and had my left eye closed.  To make a long story short, it took me a few minutes to open it and I rubbed it as though trying to get something out of it, or to soothe an itch.  Mom said she will call the new vet this morning to see if they can take me soon. If not I will have to go to the old on.

AND I need a pawdicure in the worst way.  Mom's collected all my paperwork to take along when the time comes to visit the new one,  including my tags.  (I don't wear a collar).

I'll let you know if I get to go with an update to the blog. 💗  Update is Mommy got us an appointment for 12 on Wednesday this week.  Nail trim and look at my eye.  It will be an hour appointment for the first one.  They are certified fear free.  I asked if that meant cats too.  As I saw just one in all their pictures and testimonials.  She said yes.  I hope it's not a dog centric place.   Dog -centric Vets and techs make over all the woofies that come in, smiles, pets, talks to them;  and tolerate the cats.  That's been our experience. We don't get loved on, cooed at and petted in our town.  I realize that other cat parents and their cats don't have to go through that.   But we have here in my town.

Have "fun" with that trip to the vet, Katie. Ha. Good luck!

RE: the eye: That does happen to Derry occasionally, but in his case, at least, whatever is in his eye works it way out. I figure it's like humans getting a speck of dust in our eyes from time to time. Hopefully it's the same with Katie.

I hope it is just a mild irritation and your eye clears up on it's own. I also hope you can soon sign up to the new vet.

Katie Isabella, here's hoping your peeper is just fine!

You definitely need a clinic that appreciates cats, Katie. The fact that they are Fear Free is promising.

I hope your eye is OK. At the very least, there should be a separate seating area for dogs and cats. Most dogs are so rude and bark at the carrier. XO

Julie went to the Vet for the same thing.
She would look at me wit one eye closed,or squinting in that eye.
The Vet did not find anything wrong and said artificial tears are OK.
I have not used them and her eye looks OK. Maybe she just had something in it or a minor irritation. She seems to be OK now.

Your poor eye. I really hope it's nothing. Best wishes with the new vet. I agree with how critical it is that they love cats, and that's hard to find.

Oh, we do hope that vet is a nice one, with nice techs and NO D*GS. Hopefully your eye will be all better soon, too.

When Bear was younger, he got recurrent eye infections. Our vet thought it might be related to his 8 months on the street. Eventually, the infections stopped. I hated wiping ointment that looks like Neosporin on Bear's eyeball. We hope you are okay, Katie Isabella ... and you are fawned over sufficiently at the vet.

Oh Katie I'm so sorry your eye is bothering you! I sincerely hope that when you go visit that doctor person tomorrow you are treated with tenderness, caring, and soothing quiet voices.....purrrhaps they have the sense to put kitties in a quiet room away from any noisy woofies around. We will all be hoping everything goes well!

Hugs, Teddy

We understand about dog centric vets. Hope the new one isn’t like this, and we hope the eye is just a minor irritation and nothing to worry about. Let us know what you think after your visit. We have never heard of an hour long appointment. Not sure we would like that. Purrayers and POTP to you on this vet visit. Hope you didn't scratch the eye with a claw that needed trimming. Several of us have eye troubles when the ragweed starts up.

Dearest Katie Isabella,
Oh good grief, again a much dreaded PAWDICURE...?!
And your eye, that sounds scary too.
Hope you will be well tomorrow this time around.

Good luck, KI. I hope your eye is fine and your nails get beautified. AND that your new vet gives you as many cuddles and kisses as you can tolerate. Plus treats! Paws crossed for a positive experience.

It sounds like there may be eye-drops in your future, Katie. Don't worry, they are harmless - except to infections. And I think your new veterinary will be a good one. Let us know.
