The V-E-T

Kitties!  She made me go to the V-E-T today.

She got worried when she was combing me as I lay mono railing on the tub edge and she was feeling my sides.  I flinched and called out when she felt the left side.  I have done that before but I never called out.  Mom likes to feel my body to make sure nothing seems different.  That flinching..I have done it before as I said.  But this time she decided that was going as far as she would let it.  I got scooped up and taken in.

Mom said it scared her a little though and shows dreading the visit while knowing it had to happen.

I got my nails done, and I got a "sanitary clip" in the nether region.  NO BOYCATS ALLOWED TO READ THAT!

I had my, well, my, um,  well, certain glands examined to see if they were, well, sorta, um, full.  They were- so I had to endure THAT  too.

My temperature !!!!!!!!! was normal!!!!! Gees, Mom!!!!!!!

And my heart was good.  I gained weight again however despite my not eating great amounts.  SO...Dr. Shumpert said to give me a quarter..no more than a third... of a can of Fancy Feast for breakfast and the same amount again for supper, and a scant half cup of dry for the 24 hr. day.

Really I don't eat a lot more than that.  But Mom said she would.  I had my blood work last time so I'm good to go.

Wanted to tell you.  Mom was worried so she didn't let me blog about it.  She still doesn't know why the Dr. was able to palpate my sides and tummy and I not say anything.  But she said she'll take it.

Kitties, Woofies, I have furriends in my Rainbow page.  When I put our friends in the sidebar I also put them in the Rainbow page so please know they are there always and ever even when you no longer see them in the sidebar.  That page gets an enormous number of visits.  I am glad to have our beloved family of furriends there to see and think of with love.

Oh, those visits...!! But we are glad you checked out fine. Sometimes we are like hoomins, we have an owwie and then it's not an owwie anymore.

We're glad you're okay, Katie! We're sorry you had to endure all that stuff but as long as it makes you stay well then we suppose it's a good thing. We're sure it didn't feel like that at the time though. It's too bad you have to go on a diet.

Katie, it's so sweet of you to keep that Rainbow page. What a nice idea.

I'm glad all is well. Hopefully, your sides won't cause you pain again. The diet thing is a huge bummer and scares me silly! I don't want it because the lady says I need it.

I'm glad the vet didn't find anything, Katie! Now, if only your human can stop worrying (like that is going to happen, if I know humans).

Is she going to STARVE you? It's an outrage. I'll be you-know-where with the Gerber's. Don't tell her.

I am glad your vet visit went well even though you had to suffer those indignities. When Eric had to lose weight I gradually reduced his dried food but increased the wet and he lost weight easily. Would you eat wet only? Dried has far more calories in it.
I also have pages for my Rainbow Bridge Friends beneath my banner as well as in my sidebar.

I suspect these humans look for excuses to take us to the vet! A crush on the vet or a tech? Maybe they get a lollipop or something?! Can't they see we're absolutely perfectly wonderful?! ~Bear Cat

Well Katie I think it's good that your Mom didn't want to take a chance that you MIGHT have a little issue so off to the vet you went. Sounds like you got off easy (!) so that's a good thing!

Hugs, Teddy

OMGoodness, KI. I’m sorry you had to endure ALL of that. Your mama is smart to be vigilant. No surprises is good. If you get hungry between meals stare and beg till you get a treat.

Katie, it's good your mom keeps a close eye on you and has you checked out right away at the first sign of anything amiss. We're glad everything was okay! (Anal glands notwithstanding, which Nicki has to endure being expressed every 3 months. Ugh.)

Leo says: Katie!!! Ok mom covered my eyes in certain parts of your post, but I can imagine the horrors you endured! I hope that yowl you gave your mom was just because you were done with the brushies and wanted to be left alone? Paws crossed... Now listen.. that diet is for the birds! Heck, birds eat more! So I'm smuggling in some treats and half of my snack, ok? I'll be there in a flash!

We're so happy to hear you had no major issues at the vet--just a spa trip ;-) Vets and doctors always say we're too fat :(

A trip to the vet may not be nice but it is needed when your mum thinks something may not be right with you

Katie, you may rest assured that we didn't allow Marley to see this post mentionin "clipping your nether regions" and maybe some awkward squeezes that Iza knows a lot about. ~ Ayla and Iza

Mom loves you so much, Katie, so that's why she was so worried. We are glad you checked out okay!

Love and hugs to you both.

I'm glad the vet didn't find any problems. Better to be safe than sorry!

I’m sorry you had to go to the vet, Katie, but better safe than sorry. I do dislike not having definite answers, though. In any case, you can bet your mum will be keeping an eye on everything for any more signs out of the ordinary.

Oh my Katie. I haven't ever had to have those glands emptied out but Sage did once, totally not pleasant. I am also gaining weight. mom L threatened a Vet visit for me this morning. I get 3 oz of wet food, half AM and half PM and a scant 1/4 C dry food for 24 hours. I know I don't play like I used to because of my bad knee arthritis, but stil!
