Our Grateful Thanks...Mom Here,-

Kitties and Woofies and Moms and Dads!  Favorite brovver was touched deeply by seeing who all blessed him with purrs and prayers.  I was touched too.  I knew Katie's furriends would be here for her and brovver. And me as well.  We are truly grateful to you for being our loving caring friends.

Today when I got back from having my eye exam, Katie was hungry and had done without me all day till 3:30.  I gave her an early supper and settled into a smoothie I had just made when I heard the horking.  I got up after I swallowed it all down and oh Kitties, there was blood in the hork and when I tried cleaning it up, blood stained the paper towel pink.

Scared me terribly, and I had a hard time dialing her Dr.  I did something I didn't think I would do...  I panicked some.  When I got the number dialed, I said she had an emergency and they took her right away.  She was scheduled to have her senior blood work Monday and a rabies shot.  The Dr. said I will take the blood now and you'll not have to bring her back.  She said re-time the shot since it will make her sick and now isn't the time.  I'll hear about the bloodtest tomorrow afternoon.

Dr. said she didn't see anything in Katie's mouth..and she tried to aspirate through a needle of course, blood from her throat.  There was none.  Her temp was good and the rest of her seemed alright.  We are hoping this is an anomaly.  She got a shot of Pepcid though.  She's been OK since we got home.  No idea in the world what's going on.  Any comments appreciated.

Thank you again with all our hearts for the Power of the Paw, the love, kindness and caring!  We think we felt a few headbonks, even.  💗

This could easily be a one time thing! Irritated stomach or throat lining, something like that. Happened to me once long ago, I'd just thrown up too much and caused the irritation. I know how hard it is to not worry, but since nothing was easily seen, we think there is a good chance it's a one off. Pawhugs to you both, and let us know what the vet says, please.

How terribly frightening! Our mom can certainly relate. We hope it was just a one-off too. Maybe a bone or something in her food poked her on the way down--we hope it's nothing more serious.

Oh sweet Katie, we're sorry you had that problem and we send love and hugs to you and your Mom. Let's all pray it was a one time thing.

We hope it was a one time thing too...and that something irritated her throat or stomach that caused it. The pepcid should help. But if it continues sulcralfate is usually prescribed to clear it up. We’re hoping the blood work is good too. Sending Katie and you lots of purrs.

I hope this is just a one-time thing. Maybe Katie is stressed because you are going through a stressful time - she is really in tune with you. I'm sending BOTH of you purrs.

Carole, someone else might have mentioned this, but sometimes when a cat will break a small blood vessel when throwing up -- happened to Annie a few times, and to Nicki as well. Fingers and paws crossed that's all it was. Continued purrs and purrayers to you all. Hugs and peace.

We are joining in with others who think it may be stress related. Cats are so darn sensitive and pick up on OUR stress so easily. Since the vet didn't find anything of concern we are hoping it was just something stress related or even a little blood vessel breaking. If she seems fine otherwise, then that's probably it. Hopefully you will hear more from the vet. We are sending tons of POTP just in case though.....because you all don't need MORE to worry about for sure!!!!!

Love and Hugs, Teddy AND Mom

OMGoodness, KI. Blood anywhere is always a deal breaker around here and calls for a great deal of panic, phone calling, consulting with Dr. Google on the computer, and fear bordering on maniacal paranoia. We have all good hopes for you, and are sure you are fine. Maybe you will get some pills to take inside some delicious cream cheese. We look forward to hearing the good results.

Love and licks,

Oh, golly, blood in throwup would make my Mom panic also. Really hoping it was an anomaly. Too much medical stuff all at once for your Mom. Do feel better, both of you.

Oh Katie ! Purrayers & POTP ! I would wonder if stress was a factor - including that Mom was gone a long time and supper was off-time.
How good you got in to the doctor right away !

Dearest Katie Isabella & Mom,
Of course we all are very warm, friendly and extremely caring people!
We can lift each other up when needed and we do with all our heart and love.
Let's hope that Katie Isabella's blood will be okay too.
I got a scare as I left this afternoon... our Spunky girl had jumped up on the 'open' garage door. When I tried to close it before I too left, she got stuck between, she jumped off, outside on the driveway but she screamed so loud, it went right though my soul. Hope she has nothing broken but no doubt is being bruised.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
