That Wasn't Very Appreciative Mom

So, I'm laying in bed there last night draped on mom's head.  My arm is firmly plunked down and resting on her cheek. No prob...right?  I can tell she doesn't really feel comfortable though so I am very quiet.

She turned the light out.  I took this as my cue to slide down farther, and I laid my head at rest on her temple.  She said something like it was as heavy as a boulder on her temple ...that regardless of how warm and adorable it was to have my furred chin and neck with the weight of my adorable sweet headie slung across her face and temple,  I was making her miserable and unable to sleep!  The nerve!   I took offense.  She said it hurt.  I said be grateful!  She turned her head and dislodged my headie, and I had to give up.  Kitties, it is hard to bear this meanness from her.  But I soldier on.

She complained that she was burning up from the blanket she put on that very morning to keep her warm.  WELL????? So tonight she will roll the blanket down and use the sheet and me to keep her warm.  Man.  I have to live with this!

The woman can't be pleased.  That's all I got to say about THAT!

Guess I'll sleep HERE then.

  2. Oh, Katie Isabella, I feel your pain! My Mommy complains ALL night that I take up the bed, steal her pillow, don't give her room, etc. etc. And she doesn't appreciate me sleeping on top of her to keep her warm. Humans.

  3. I admit I complain about Derry all night long too, Katie, so it seems to be a human failing. It doesn't help that I've started "night sweats" now, and don't need Derry plastered to my chest or tummy. Maybe that's your mom's problem too?

  8. Katie, you know how moms get trying to deal with this fickle sleeping weather at this time of year. You should probably resign yourself to sleeping near her instead of on her for a while.

  9. Yup, the kitties are truly good at keeping the humans warm. But the Mom shouldn't complain about you Katie, there are usually six or more of us on the bed with our Mom.

  10. Yep, sometimes the mom bean is a true pain to sleep with...tossing, turning, flipping pillows and sometimes kitties too.

We all find some place else to sleep those nights.

  12. I have to say that my mommy is ecstatic that I sleep cuddled up under her chin and agiainst her chest now. When I first moved in with her I was scared and slept about 10” away from her legs. But now I trust her and even let her kiss my tummy and only grab her arms and hands with no claws if she rubs my tummy. Before I was all “Rowwrr, bitey, scratchy with her hands”. I don’t understand why your mommy would be upset when you give her precious night-time attenshuns.

  14. I hear you, Katie. I have the same problem with #1 who complains when I drape myself over her and dig in my claws as she is trying to work at her computer. I just don't get it.

  15. Katie, We know EXACTLY how you feel! When Mummy goes to bed, She calls to Us and invites Us to come and snuggle up with her. But as soon as We settle down and get comfortable, one on her legs and one on each arm or maybe on her tummy, She starts moving around and disturbing Us, complaining that We are squishing her. So then We leave and go into another room and then She starts complaining We don't love her! Honestly! Humans!

  16. Dearest Katie Isabella,
Oh my, our kitties can be very controlling in the way they want and need to love us! We have to let them and appreciate their treatment at any time.
Sending you hugs for the weekend.

  17. I don't think a cardboard box can ever be as comfortable as your mom's head and face, KI. I hope she'll come around and appreciate your warm sweetness.

    Love and licks,
