My v-e-t called mom's cell while she was traveling Saturday afternoon and told her my bloods were great but my problem is a UTI. The urine sample was packed with bacteria. How my temp was normal the time I got to see him at 101 degrees when I have an infection, I have no idea.
Mom asked what did she do to cause it and he said nothing and explained how germs/bacteria can travel and perhaps with her having to wait when I had diarrhea 9/2, and no one being able to clean my heiney plus mom not being able to get me an appt. with my v-e-t (boy, was he MAD!) He said a sick cat should never ever be turned away because they are busy. She went to another Vet in the interim and he apologized over and over and said that decision did not come from him. And not being treated in a timely way, that may be the cause. With an uncleaned heiney, bacteria had a chance to travel to the urinary tract. Mom said I was very aromatic.
Meanwhile, I have to go again today! I start a treatment and because of mom's recovery and other considerations about that, he does not want mom scratched or goodness forbid, bitten while she tries pilling me for the first time (I will NOT take pill pockets nor allow evil substances in or on my foods). So he's trying to think of how to treat me for the 10 days I need it without having to come in each day. (I would protest and fight mom probably after a few days of steady going).
We will work it out today.
I heard mom offer to pay a tech to come out each day and pill me. V-e-t may or may not agree. We will find out when mom gathers me up and takes me in.

PEE ESS: I just came back from having the third vial of bloods stolen. I also got my first pill. The tech is coming every day to pill me. WHEW! Mommy is paying $$$ for it but I'm like the commercial goes..I'm worth it.

Aha! Well, we're sorry you have a UTI, but are relieved it's nothing worse. Would you accept flavoured meds in liquid form? If so, the antibiotics could be compounded into something tasty like chicken flavour. Nicki's great with syringed meds, but not Derry! Anyway, lots of healing purrs and paws crossed your mom and your vet figure out the easiest, least stressful way to treat you.
Poor Katie...we're so sorry to hear you are still having problems. We bet your vet was very unhappy! Maybe you can get a long acting antibiotic shot. I agree with Fuzzy Tails...some kitties like compounded meds.
Oh, dear! This sounds complicated, Miss Katie, both for you and Mom! Sending wishes for recovery! xo
Those UTIs are not fun sweetie, no wonder you aren't feeling well. We hope the Tech can stop by and give you your meds, that would be a good solution.
Good luck to your Mom and you getting this all worked out, and hoping you will start to feel a lot better real soon.
You VET sounds like a super nice one. Did he tell you Mom how to insist to get an appointment the same day? Maybe she could say "Please ask Dr Wonderful"?
Purring hard for you.
oh lovely girl.....sounds like you have a good v-e-t and we hope you are back to 100% soon
OH Katie you darling little girl. We are so sorry but glad now you know what is wrong and that you will be good as new in no time. WE know how hard it is to pill and we worry about trying to do that with Annabelle.
Your vet sounds like a very good guy! We are purring hard and praying for you Miss Katie that you will be feeling better very soon ❤️❤️❤️
We hope they can figure out how best to treat you, Katie, so you can feel lots better soon! We are glad that they finally figured out what is going on. Purrs to you, sweet friend. <3
It's a relief to know what is exactly not right about you Katie and that you have a plan of treatment in place. Please don't make it too hard on the mom or the tech when they give you some nasty pill.
Purrs,
Emma and Buster
Of course you are worth it, Miss Katie! And we hope you feel very much better soonest. We are glad the vet tech is coming to do the pilling. Over here, Tama and Da Beebs are easy to pill, Sei-Chan is hard to catch, and Genji is impossible to pill, so it's quite varied.
Purrs,
The Chans
Oh I am so glad the Mom got a tech to come pill you every day. That will be a big help and hopefully you will be all better really soon. Have a great day.
I'm sending you purrs for a quick recovery, Katie! I think it is kind of cool that you get personalized pilling service. Binga is difficult to pill - she takes it just fine... and spits it right out! Sometimes my human does injections instead - she is actually fine with those.
katie...az all wayz de manee blessings oh st francis two ewe; N much as we hate ta say this, stay off fish fora while....we iz glad de ewe noe who iz comin two yur houz...it will amke stuff lotz eazier troo lee....hope ya hada grate visitz with brother ♥♥♥
So glad you and your mommy know what the trouble is and how to fix it. I'm sure you were not happy about another v-e-t visit but if it helps you get better, then you puts your furry chin forward and take your medicine. And yes, you ARE worth it!

I am glad that they know what is wrong with you now. When I had the UTI, my temperature was normal too. I hope those pills soon clear it up.
Katie, we are glad that this is something treatable. And no vet office should ever turn away a sick or injured animal - you find the time to see them. PS: when I went through some UTI issues awhile back, the vet told Mom then that sometimes the bacteria is stubborn and hangs on, so you may need more than one round of ebil pills.
Treasure is our pill hater(or any other treatment)
He sees mom and starts running!
We purr you get your meds(sorry, but they are good for you) and
start feeling better soon Katie!
Purrs Georgia and Julie,

Hi Sweetness. I'm sorry about the UTI but I am also glad you got answers. I hope all goes well with the treatment. I hope you and your mommy are doing well.
Dear Katie,
I'm sorry you are having this nasty infection. It's too bad that you don't like the pill pockets. No one likes them here either! Everycat has liked the Whisker Lickin's soft treats - chicken not salmon - and I am able to squish the pill in the treat, as long as the pill isn't too big.
We sympathize, as our new boy Rufus the Red had coccidia and has now tested positive for roundworm! He is an adorable sweet parasite magnet.
xxoo

Oh, poor Katie! But you'll be better soon in no time. And we're glad your mom was able to get some help, too.
Hi Katie!

Oh Katie san, I'm sorry you've got UTI. But glad vet found the cause of you not feeling well and you are getting the proper treatment. How sweet of your mom to make arrangement for vet tech to come visit. I hope you feel better soon, Katie san. Sending purrs and lots of love xoxo
We hope you start feeling better soon. UTIs are no fun! Do you have a cat sitter you trust? Or one your human trusts.... since after this cat sitter tries to give you a pill, you'll never trust them again! Some cat sitters have a lot of experience giving pills and stuff, and that might be more cost-effective than paying a tech to come out.
The mom says she wishes she lived closer to you, Katie, because she would come and pill you for free. Trust us, she's really really good at pilling a cat. We sure hope you are feeling better soon.
I am sorry you has the sick, my little darling, but I am still hee hee heeing at how much trouble you are going to be giving your daily visitor after one or two days! I hope you start feeling better RIGHT AWAY. I can come over and check, if you'd like?
Dearest Katie Isabella,
What a fate... and let's hope that pilling will be over with soon.
I've never seen any kitten that loved taking meds.
Get well in a hurry.
Hugs,
Mariette
I didn't know you were anti-pill, KI. What a smart idea to have a tech come and help out. Mom doesn't even have to hide my pills when I need them. (But I like when she does. Yum...) I eat anything, no questions asked.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Oh Katie! So sorry you have a UTI - NOT FUN!!! Also more bloods stolen and pills to take - it's not easy being you is it?! Well I'm sending POTP and I hope that the tech that's pilling you every day is at least NICE and you will cooperate.
You'll be better soon I'm sure............
Love, Sammy
So happy Mum got it all sorted out. Wow she is lucky that a vet tech will even do that paying or not! Praying you are on the mend as we speak!
xoxo

I bet that vet gave his staff or whoever told you they were too busy THE BUSINESS! Poor Katie. I hope you get well soon and it sounds like all is at least sorted out. I hate pills, too.
Healing purrz my dear furriend!
Selina
Katie we are so sorry that you have a UTI and hope you will start to feel much better very soon.

It helps get da pill faw nuff back cuz sissy dusn't like pill pawckets eever. Course she dusn't have teefies so wha'd'ya' spect. MOL Hope all goes well.
Luv ya'
Dezi and Lexi
You are worth it indeed. I wish I lived near you , I would pill you for free and not even get mad if you scratched me. I am glad the vet apologized because that is wrong. The place I go always fits me in which is why I never get mad when I am there and have to wait longer. I will keep praying for you for a speedy recovery. Thank you and your Mom for the very sweet sympathy card you sent us - love and hugs to you both.
We are so happy to hear the vet figured out what was wrong and you can get the meds to make you better. Sorry you has to be pilled, that doesn't sound like a lot of fun. (Nor does having to pay to have someone come in and do it but I totally understand that part - Mom bean)
Feel better soon Katie!
Sasha, Sami, & Saku
Did you get a pill today? I hope you were a good girl!
No my tree is elektrissity-free....thankfully. Unless you mean like a warming pad or something! XOXOXO
After all is said and done, being professionally pilled is probably best. Otherwise, Mom's hospital bills could be substantial...
Well, Miss Katie, we are glad that the v-e-t was able to figure things out, and that you'll be right as rain soon. Sorry to hear you have to take those pills, and that you don't like pill pockets (we do not like them, either, if it makes you and Mommy feel any better). We love you, sweet girl. Feel better, okay?
Hugs,
Moosey, Gracie and Zoe
Katie, I'm so happy your mom was finally able to get someone to listen to her and get a handle on why you were not feeling well. Thankfully now you are getting medicine and are on the road to recovery. Keep getting better sweetie.
We are happy that you will get good treatment for the illness. It is not nice to be sick. Your Mom is very devoted to you.
