Big Bonanza

So then, there was yesterday meowing when mom was doing alllll she could to get out the door at 0730.  She had been literally fast-walking for an hour trying to get herself ready,  dressed, and more importantly feed me then mash a billion of those little piss ants she calls 'em that have come through the ONE place that wasn't caulked at the window in the kitchen.

She uses masking tape to stick them to the tape and man, she man really pound that stuff down onto the counter and get hundreds within less than a minute.

OK.  Where was I?  Oh yes, it was 0730 and she HAD to get gone to Knoxville THEN.  (Most of the time from 0545 on was mashing ants).  So, shoes on and door open she asked if I wanted a treat.  I said yes, I would.

She reached into the cabinet where they are along with the 3# can of coffee and as she took the coffee out to reach for the treats (Party Mix---grilled) down came the large bag of Party Mix.  And guess what Kitties?  She'd forgotten to press the top to seal the bag.

Oh Kitties, it rained treats all OVER the kitchen counter, floor, trash lid, stove and across the narrow kitchen floor to the sink base.  SO.....we have to scoop them up, sweep, and in general  start late.  Meanwhile I am vacuuming up the treats as fast as I can.

She finally got out, late but out to the car and I had to sit ALLLL day till 1700 by myself.  She and a beloved guest, Brovver, got here, had supper, so did I and the rest was normal.

Sheesh.  All I gotta say.

It sounds like your mom had a more eventful morning than she would have liked. :-)

Even if you had to be by yourself all day, you got to see Brother in the evening.

Raining treats sounds like quite the bonanza to us! Plus that your brovver is visiting which makes it a major bonanza!

We get an ant highway near a window in the spring but Mommy puts a little thingy that has foods for the ants that when they take it back to where they come from, they all die!

You were lucky that bag wasn’t full of ants too. We hate ants and are lucky they don’t take the elevator up to the 4th floor.

Ha ha ha ha ha! That is a really great story, Katie--especially the part where it rained treats like that! You must've thought you'd won the lottery or sumfing!

Oh, and fanks for letting Salem know I don't fake-compliment! ;-) You ought to know, sweet little peach XOXOXO

Oh my. What a day! We had ant invasion a couple of times in the past. I searched web and found cinnamon to be natural repellent. It didn't work at all....They are too powerful to care about some cinnamon.
Rain of snacks sounds good, at least for you :-) Hehehe...

Oh, poor Mom. It is frustrating when you are in a hurry and little things keep coming up! I am sre you didn't mind it raining treats, though! We have spiders coming in, now that autumn is approaching. *augh*

I hate those little ants, we had a lot of them a ouple months back and my hubby had to spray all around outside to stop them from coming inside. One morning, I found them in the Aple Jacks box
:( That was nice of you to "vacuum" up the treats for your mom.

We hope you hid some of those treats for later Katie.

We are sorry your mom had to pound those ants and sweep up treats, but sweet Katie seems you did very well helping get all those treats up. Good job and you deserved them everyone since you had to sit alone until 1700. Hugs and nose kisses

Stuff some steel wool in the place where the ants come in. And then some "plumber's putty". They wont like that AT ALL.
