Question

Katie's mom here:

Katie has had some random sneezes these past three days.  Not a lot.  Maybe 5, 6 in a day. You don't think the dreaded URI is coming back  do you?

I sure hope not but keep a close watch, I know you will. Also, try whipping her nose with a tissue, sometimes a wee bit of fur you can't see tickles the nose.

Sorry for triple post. Tablet acting up.

It's probably just very dry air. Mine are sneezy too.

MY nose tickles.

I think she'll be a-okay! :-)

But if it's really getting to you, then I suggest you make a trip to the vet. But it's probably just the cold air.

Mike here, I sneeze all the time, but that is normal - for me. I had a good checkup last month. However, if unusual for Katie, then keep a watch on her.

Bujang; yesterday I sneezed twice. My mom was horrified and asked me if I have a cold, like her. I told her it was just the cold in the air. But I was glad she was vigilant and I know she will be on the lookout. I am sure it's ok with Katie as well and we know you will be careful to watch her. You're a good cat mom.

We know you're watching her carefully. Will she take any immune enhancer stuff like l-lysine ??

This may not be significant. I'm sure you will keep a close watch for any other symptoms.

I'm not an expert on this, Mom. We had a cat that sneezed, but it didn't have any special meaning. Miss Katie has had some problems in the past that probably need to be monitored. I send along healthy vibes for her! xo

I'd say just keep an eye on her for now and look for other URI symptoms. Binga has sneezing periods very occasionally, but it only has developed into anything vet-worthy a couple of times in the past 13-odd years.

Adam will have sneezing attacks once in awhile but it is allergies (confirmed by the vet). I have noticed my allergies are acting up on the same days he is sneezing.

Watch her nose and eyes, if you start seeing discharge there then you need to check with the vet.

I sure hope not! Three sneezes isn't a lot really, over a few days time? That could be anything. If they were lots in one day.. I'd start to worry. As everyone has said, keep an eye on her though. hugs and purs!!

What are her eyes and nose looking like? If there is nothing runny, then it may be an allergy to something.

Hopefully just this cold and very dry air....but if Katie shows other signs you'll know what's best!!

Hugs, Pam (and Sam)

If it persists or there are any other symptoms, call your vet. No chances taken with Miss Katie. ~xoxo~

Once inna while, one of us will sneeze several times inna day, but it always stops.

Sami sneezes frequently, I assume from the dry air. I agree if there no other symptoms, runny eyes and nose, she's probably okay. Still doesn't hurt to keep on eye on her.

I hope not! Never heard the dry air theory, but that sure makes mai mom sneeze her flippin' head off. Sometimes she sneezes for ten minutes straight and we all go flying for cover!

Hope you are okay! xxoo Bhu

I sneeze occasionally, myself. Not too often. The air is dry in here, and sometimes it is just a tickle of fur, too. But when my Mommy sneezes it is way too loud and I leave the room, cause she usually will sneeze at least once or twice more--loudly. And every day. I've been here a little more than a year and I still run when she sneezes!
Warm purrs and headbumpies, sweet friend.

A few sneezes could just be dry air. Or dust, if she got into an odd corner that the vacuum doesn't reach well. But keep an eye on her and see if it progresses. We know you'll stay ahead of it if she shows any other symptoms like runny eyes.
