Day Two

Mommy and I are deeply and truly saddened by Russell, of William of Mass Destruction  and Tillie's passing.  TOO many of our dearest furriends are flying away despite our families begging them to please not, to stay a little longer.  Love and comfort and warms hugs to their families.  Mom said she sure knows how they feel as do all the pawrents. Our pawrents love us like the fur babies we are.  And we love our pawrents right back just as much.

Kitties,  I am home still.  Mommy was heartened that I got into bed and slept up against her pajamaed tummy.  I stayed till she had to answer the alarm and get up for Brovver at 0130.  When she got back I had gone elsewhere but eventually I came back to her.

I am sneezy, one eye running and my nose is running like a wee faucet.  That's why I am licking my lips, mom thinks.  My nose is congested.  Mom took your advice and went out and bought a humidifier.  Instead of my thick comfy bed I am in my PTU presently but both bed and PTU are in this computer room so mommy has it running in here.

She called the Vet and drilled and grilled him.  He swears on his Terrier's head that this is all allergy!  I know my mom thinks a cat  cold.  Mom told him what she'd read about colds and cat herpes too and he again swore that I had neither.  Mom says a cold...he says allergies in the worst way.  But if I am not better, back I go after a few days.  If I am holding my own..brovver has a very important appt. Monday to keep with his surgeon.  If need be I will go in Monday later but mom somehow thinks now that I am home and have her to bury into, I will get better.  I DID eat supper, a decent one too, and I drank pretty often.

This morning, I came in all wheezy and snuffly but I did a good job on my stinky goodness and I was having a fresh drink of water right after mom laid it down while still in the bathroom.  (I have two watering holes).

I had lunch too, Kitties!  Pretty decent amount.  I made one pee over night..a big one, and one poo.  Whew.

So, now I wait with my humidifier and hope I eat and drink and cod knows I am resting!!! I had my tail up once.  The rest of the time it's down but mom said she saw it sailing proudly once...cutting the air as I made it into the living room.

xxoo

Miss Katie we are so happy that you have eaten and drank and well done the other things too. All of that is great news. We are sorry you are still feeling puny. But we have high hopes that you will be feeling better soon. We will continue to purr and we are deeply sadden by the recent losses of Tillie, Russell and now today I just saw MamaCat over at Disciplines of Otis. It is too much loss. Time to close the Bridge for repairs.

Sounds like you're on the mend, pretty Miss Katie! This makes all of us in the Catrulers household furry happy.

M says your Mommy should stick to her guns on the issue of allergies versus rhino virus (cold). She says she knows it's hard to push back and that energy for doing so can sometimes be in short supply.

Your Mommy loves you and will do whatever needs doing to make you better. Hugs, sweet sisfur.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of those dear ones. So very sad.

I'm glad you're eating and drinking (and the others too). I am so hoping that you're getting better. Your mom is the best medicine for you for sure. I also hope your brother is getting better.

I am sending more purrs your way, Katie! It does sound like you are better, since you are eating.

And also, I think sometimes a kitty's human knows more about what is going on than the vet does. The vet may have years of training, but he does not live with his patients day in and day out. And they are not infallible.

Ah, the purrs for both of you continue!
I sneezed in sympathy a few hours ago. Drove mommy insane for a while, but it was only once, and just to be sympathetic to your sickies.
I of course got lots of attention for it. *tee hee*

We are happy the "gazinta and gozeouta" are working, and your tail was up...our Mommy thinks this REALLY sounds like an URI; a steroid shot should have taken care of any allergies, right?

Regardless, we're purring hard.

Glad to hear that you are doing a little bit better Katie. It could be a cold or allergies. We just hope you get to feeling better soon. Take good care.

Miss Katie, I don't want to make King Spitty any more jealous than he already is, but I feel the power of the bikini is really starting to work, I really do! Spitty's spitshined furs are pretty healing too, I must admit and I think that between us, instead of smacky paws at dawn, if we work together, we could make you better! Really I do!! Hugs and smoochies xoxoxox

There sure are a lot of kitties with the sniffles an sneezing suddenly! We hope it isnt some new problem going around due ta the pawties lately. And we dont buy the "allergy" idea. Iffen we are remembering right, the kiities we see with sniffles and such are in different places, PLUS, we dont remember all this happening LAST year at this same time...

But, whatever, get better soon and get that tail staying up high!

I know your Mom will take care of you and make sure you’re not in any distress when you wheeze. I’m with you and think it’s a cold. Is there another vet you could call?

Sweet Katie, it sounds like you are starting to get better, and that makes us very happy. We will keep on purring and praying for you, Brovver and Mommy! Big hugs and love to you all.

We're glad to hear that you ate and used the litterbox. Those are both encouraging signs. It certainly does sound like a URI. We hope the humidifier is helping. You mentioned that you're using it in the computer room. Make sure your mommy puts the humidifier on the far end of the room from the computer, since with most humidifiers, the most heavily saturated air falls down within a few feet. It shouldn't damage a computer by them just being in the same room, but we don't want your mom to lose access to the internet so she can keep us posted about you and your brovver. We are purring for both of you.

I am so glad your Mommy bought a humidifier to help you breathe better. :)
It definitely sounds like a cat cold, just like what we all had. Is your Mommy able to give you some lysine? That is supposed to help if you have the herpesvirus and doesn't harm you even if you don't have it.
We are all purring for you to kick the virus out the door quickly and we'll all be saying our purrayers for a good report on your brovver's important Monday appointment.

You keep on eating and drinking and all your potty too, my beautiful Ladycat and I'll see you soon. I miss you so much! xoxo

I've read that respiratory problems can occur when there are head injuries. I know that is a long shot, but has Katie been checked for head injuries? Also, is Katie taking Lysine? From what I've read, that might possibly be useful for Katie's respiratory problems.
