Why I asked...

Here is why I took a poll yesterday, Kitties. I used to pee two times at least a day.  Sometimes there was a small little one as well..making it like 2 1/4 pees or something like that.  Then I went and had my horrible shots and I started peeing just once a day. Sometimes a bit other added that could be called two times, but not what mom was used to seeing.  So, that ends my conversation about it. Thanks Kitties.

We used regular Fresh Step clumping litter here because it clumps good and well and isn't very stinky. Bit the dust thing is an issue and Mom worries licking traces of it off our fur is not good for us. They have also had use use Wheat litter and that seemed much healthier, but the clumps were soft and it wasn't so good on the smell angle. Maybe we will try your kind.

It is curious why you changed your bathroom habits, but maybe your bladder has just grown a little larger and you can hold more before going. Mom smiled at the idea of your Mom feeling like she was calling the pediatrician about the baby.

Thank u for teh advice. My hoomin wants to adopt a kitteh soon. Dat will be good to remember. :)

We fully sympathize with your Mom's concern. We have felt the same way more than once about our kitties. We tried that litter made from newspaper once and did not like it. Earlier this year we changed from one brand of clumping litter to another one that is better. It doesn't have a strong scent and isn't too dusty. I always take the litter boxes out to the driveway to change the litter. I suppose I could do that to add litter to the box, but I don't like the idea of carrying a box of litter around any more than necessary.

Random Felines ...mom just cares about my well being. She understands you have so many fosters that you can't worry about or even keep up with their plumbing. After having a fatally ill kitty who flew away in December to the Bridge perhaps she is more conscious of changes in me. xxxooo

What a coincidence that we posted today bout our over protective Mommy who calls the Vet efurrytime a hoo-haa gets cross-ways! It just means that your Mommy loves you very much and worries about your health. What a lucky girl you are to have her, Katie Isabella! (and she to have you!) XOXO

I've not heard of Precious Cat. We may have to look for it--I know all about litter dust!

You look adorable with your red flower!

Nice of you to share that information.

My mummy is like that too. She treats me like a human baby but I like it! I know it's because she loves and cares for me lots.

The Cat Guy said...

I can certainly relate. We call the vet when the littlest things happen. We live across the alley from the vet so when they stop taking our calls, we just stop over and pester them with our questions! I don't think asking lots of questions is a bad thing though, they might miss something and having all the information might help make a better diagnosis.

With five indoor cats, it's hard to keep track of which litter box contributions belong to who.

Have you tried to increase her water intake? Maybe sprinkle a little water over the dry? I sometimes rinse a wet food can with water to make a gravy of sorts and then pour that over the dry.

I don´t think we have Precious Cat in Sweden ??
We do have some other kind´s that are good :)
My Mom laughed at the idea of your Mom feeling like she was calling the pediatrician about the baby :)
Have a pawsome weekend !

Sorry I didn't drop by yesterday. TW's eye is bothering her again. Looks like I missed a poll. I go in one corner of the box only and sometimes there appears to be as many as 3 pees in there. Very seldom I'll only have 1 and I don't drink water either. To cut down on the dust, my boxes are hooded. Do you only have 1 box, Katie. I have one at each end of the condo, although I haven't used one in a while cos I don't like the World's Best Cat Litter that's in that one. *scrape scrape*

We've never heard of Precious Cat. Mommy buys the paper pellets for us. :)
We had one kitty stay with us who refused to pee for almost 2 days! Mommy almost took him to the V-E-T when he let it all go...Whew!
We love how Oui Oui added that pretty little flower to your avatar. :)

I haven't heard of Precious Cat. What is it made from? I do like the corn litter but it's not so great on the clumping and my floofy girl always has it stuck to her pantaloons.

If my vet sighed when I wanted information that would help ease my worries, I would get a new one. He doesn't sound very compassionate.

Mom is always innterested in how other kitties pee too coz she's a worrier. And she appreciates all the info she can get. She's gonna check on the 'Precious Cat' litter. Right now she's using 'Arm and Hammer'. It's a good clumper, but dusty as well.

Mom got a good box with sloping sides and it's much easier to clean.

Mommy says she wishes she knew who's whiz was whose around here! Although she would say on average we're twice a day peers.

I read where the avg. kittie urinates 3 times a day; poop, once. let's see, times that by 6 kitties here and I can see why That Woman hazta empty the two boxes twice a day. And that's even after she lets Ms. Stella out in the am (hers has to go pee in the grass, so does Miss Jack). They will even wait on weekends for her to wake up and sometimes I SWEAR you can see tears streaming down their whiskers as they bolt outside. I don't understand it when there are three pristine, cleaned boxes (twice a day) for us to use. I myself love to jump in the box after she's cleaned it and have a good roll around. That Woman just shakes her head and sayz 'Boyz'. Whatever that means.

We think it's a good thing your mom is keeping such good track of you Katie! You are very important so it's a loving thing for her to do to make sure you are always okay. We don't like dust either so we'll have to look for the Precious Cat. We're picky but Mommy is always willing to try something new to see if we like it.

Mom wondered if only going once a day was ummmm normal, because I have been known to do that too and she didn't know. So thank you for asking your Vet. He may have thought your Mom was sensitive but we thought it was a great question.

I have heard about the concentrated pee thing, probably why kitty pees smell so bad! Once a day is better than zero a day for sure! Perhaps you're afraid your mom and the vet are going to try stealing it and you're hoarding it.. MOL
I totally understand about being worried and think your mom shouldnt feel bad about bugging the vet. After all, that's why they went to vet school right? She's just giving them an opportunity to show off how bright they are!

CATachresis said...

Actually Austin’s plumbing seems to be working overnight more than it used to. Poops as well, so am keeping a wary eye on his little person!! Vets are quite used to overly sensitive moms I reckon lol xox

YOU are a precious cat, Miss Katie Isabella!

Pee Ess: Mom just loves coming here so she can wiggle the pointer in place to make a star shower! Shes easily entertained like that.

I think that sometimes vets are too quick to discount something a human is telling them about their cat. That said, it sounds like you are doing fine, Katie. We use World's Best and like it fine, but my human is always willing to try something new (as long as we don't complain), so she may check out the brand you mentioned.

Ellen Whyte said...

We think your mummy is right to ask all those questions because you are a precious kitty. We're going to send you a facebook link for a uni dept for vets so you can get the latest medical info. We don't eat a lot of biscuits; what about a real meat diet? Like roast chicken and raw beef? You could ask the vets too. See you on Facebook! www.facebook.com/ewhyte

Katie, as long as you are peeing, you're okay. Once a day is okay. A lot depends on the type of foods you eat too...if you eat canned foods, you'll probably pee more than if you eat dry foods.

We use Precious Cat too. And we love it because it is pretty dust free and it doesn't smell. Our mom says it's well worth the extra $$$.

Katie, Glogirly is thinking about getting me one of those cat fountains for water. I don't drink much out of my dish, but everytime she goes in the bedroom or bathroom I high tail it into the tub, just waiting for her to turn on the faucet.

We've not heard of Precious Cat...but will check it out. What's good for one Katie....

My Human totally unnerstands 'bowt litter box obsession! I think when the Humans have had an older kitty, especially one who has had a protracted and difficult illness, they become extra-attentive & sensitive to any possible changes.

That doesn't mean *I* don't still think their litter-box fetish is pervy, though. Ha ha meow! XOXOXOXO

Oh Katie, we think you have a terrific Mom that is just concerned about your health and what could be better than that. The litter thing is a problem but we just have to deal with it. Part of having so many cats. Hope all of you have a super week end.
