Kitties! There Mom and I were. Asleep. And it being the middle of the night of course.
She woke..she always does for no reason about 0300. She became aware of a racing heart! Racing like gangbusters! She laid there galvanized at how extreme the heart rate was! She slowly reached one hand to the other hand to feel her wrist and pulse for the zillion bpm heart rate. She never got to her wrist because she became aware of the soft warmth against her head. That was me. I was still parked there from when she turned out the light and we went to sleep.
She lifted her left arm (I sleep on the passenger side of the bed I told ya) and that includes her rather flat (preferred by her--- and me ackshully) pillow. There was plenty of it sticking out to the left, so I occupied it of course. Racing heart continued however and she started to reach again for her wrist and maybe the yelly-o-fone to call for help.
As she was more awake by then, she noticed, or felt the ripple of my six pound body's wee spine pressed hard against her head. She concentrated for a few seconds and only then realized that was ME and MY normal heart rate she was hearing against her head. She has no idea I was pressed hard against her until then! She dared to move her head slightly to the right then. WHEW! OH my GOSH! "What an awful scare thinking my heart was beating that fast" Mom said aloud to the dark room and me!!! How she could think so- when she felt perfectly normal is a mystery to me. I guess it's from being dazed in just woken up sleep.
Not fun. Nope. Sure wasn't. She moved me off the pillow so she could go to sleep without the trip hammer going. There are times I heard her say that a fella wishes they were married. Then she could wake someone else up and scare them to death I guess!
That's my report.

Yikes that was a scary wake up. Glad all is okay.
Have a fabulous day and week, Katie. My best to your mom. ♥
She can divide by two sweet Katie because two hearts beat as one!
That does sound scary. Glad her heart rate was not that fast. XO
That must've been super scary!
Yikes, scary for sure! Kitties and I are glad everything was sorted out fairly quickly! Meows!
Katie Isabella you certainly know how to give your mommy a run for her money don't you. Sticking your heart right in her ear! It's a wonder she didn't have the screaming memes. It's fun to know that donkey went on such a great trip all the way to Canada and back.
WOW......now that whole incident would get ANYBODY'S heart beating triple time! Hopefully both of you have calmed down and all is well. Must have been a bit scary though!!
Huggies, Teddy (and Mom Pam)
Going via my tunnel made it easier...
Java Bean: "Ayyy, sometimes humans are a little silly when they wake up in the middle of the night! We're glad it was your little heart going like that and not your mom's!"
Scary but something to chuckle about - later. The little bug looks like a cartoon character...
KATIE ISABELLA AND CAROLE THAT WAS MOST CERTAINLY A VERY VERY SACARY WAY TO WAKE UP. DID MOM CALL HER DOCTOR?
HUGS CECILIA

Nah, it only took a minute to realize it was me and my little heart beating.
Goodness, Katie! This gave us quite a scare, so we had to skip down quickly to read it was your sweet heart ( you are my Sweetheart) beating, not Mom’s! I know your mom gave a big sigh of relief! You two girls take good care of each other❣️ Kat, Your Loverboy
That would have been shock
I'm sure she was just shocked out of a sound sleep and didn't know what to think at first. I'm glad all was well.
No wonder donkey is exhausted, he sure travelled a LONG way, all the way to ALmost the west coast of Canada! (Our uncle lives there, so we know how far it truly is, 4 1/2 hours from here in a direct jet...)
Did you run with Donkey so that your heart was working overtime, and thus woke up your Mom?
That was a scary moment, but glad it was so easily solved and 'fixed'!
HILARIOUS!..15 pounds on your head could possibly seem like and uh-oh in the night! We kitties really know how to keep you anthros on your toes, haha. Or, uh, pillows….
Well that was a scary way to wake up! Glad your mom figured out quickly that it was you and not her.
