My goodness..mom took me to the v-e-t and here it is one week to the day that I was brought here to my forever home. There I was..back.
Mom noticed that I started kind of winding down in energy after a very strong beginning, just a tad each day and she saw ever so small a bit of the third eyelid. (nictitating membrane) and I seemed itchy despite all mom did to help. I threw up every bit of my supper within minutes last night. Mom had a scramble trying to get it up off the couch and cover.
Today, I seemed whiny when she needed to get up and I was on her and that did it. She hauled me off and got even more worried when I didn't struggle or say a word. Dr. looked and saw all the itchy spots that mom didn't even know about and said those are allergic dermatitis. He felt the throw up was a fluke but all the other things mom mentioned were brought about by dermatitis. I got just a half a shot of steroid.
I came home, ate my full supper and I am asleep now till mom gets back in there where she belongs.
Dr. was not concerned with that small a showing of membrane and said he wanted me to call by the time a week is up to say how I am.
It scared mommy, kitties. She is still very very sad about Admiral and as she took me to the Vet today she was afraid for me as she already loves me very much.
OH! My human brother was here and I even went in and slept on HIS bed last night! I love him as he was here in the house when I first came home last Monday. Mom missed me on hers despite the fact she complains about me taking the entire bed.

We hope that shot stops your itchies. I have to have a shot every 3 months or so because I get the itchies too and dig my face raw and then I feel yucky.
Eric
I hope you feel better soon... really, really soon. Have a good night's sleep filled with lots of wonderful dreams.
Oh Katie and Mommy, we are sorry for the worry and all. Purring that everything will go well now. Try not to scarf your din din down, katie - it just bounces back up if you do that. Today I had a smaller throw up with a small hairball. Whether it is me or Audrey, throw up is a regular thing around here. But we usually get down and do it on the rug, not the couch!!!

Sorry you are feeling a bit poorly, Katie. I wonder why you got allergic dermatitis? Do you think you could be allergic to your food? I hope you are all better soon!
I hope the shot helps you feel better, Katie! I wonder what is causing the allergic reaction you had. I am purring that your human finds out!
Awww, poor Katie and poor Mom! This must have been a very bad scare. I hope you get better very quickly!
Oh my goodness!! Me and Charlie just popped over to say hi to you gorgeous Katie Isabella! Oh my stars! We are so sorry you've had to return to the vets with this nasty dermatitis! We hope it goes away asap! We are sending you lots of purrs and hugs!! And to your mum too!
You both need lots of cuddles and treats after such a fright! Take care
x
It's good your mommy took you in today sweetie. I'm happy it wasn't any more serious than dermatitis as that can make one miserable enough. Dat was so sweet dat you snuggled with your ooman brother last night. Mommy has you all to herself most of the time, so she can share when he visits.
Oh Katie, like Spitty said (bet that comment made Carole smile) please don't scare the mom to death. Poor thing. Maybe she is just adjusting to the change in food and place to live. It probably is nothing. Sending tons of purrs that the shot will help you Katie. Take care Katie and get all better.
Katie
Your Mom did the right thing and we are glad the Vet was able to reassure her that all is well with you. We hope that shot helps you so that you won't itch and we are so glad you are so well cared for.
You are loved.

Oh, Katie san. I'm sorry you were not well and your mom had to go through such scary time! I hope the shot works for you and you get well soon. Your mom loves you so much that It's too hard for her to see you become sick.
But I'm glad you love your human brother!
I hope you feel better soon, Katie san.
Katie Katie, I don't know what we're gonna do about you. That was a good start frowing up on the couch—only if you're not sick. Hope you're not not allergic to the scents the Admiral left behind.
Don't worry, sweet Katie Isabella, we here on the CB, haf got the market cornered on purrs and purrayers. We'll be revvin our engines fur you. Feel better soon. xoxo
Sending healing purrrrayers to you Katie. We hope this is nothing serious.

VET ? I don't think this suit you, My sweet Katie !!! I'm sure nothing serious about it but just in case, I paws crossed and purrs for you
xoxo
Miss Katie, you had us worried. We hope the steroid shot helps.
Mom Paula understands your mom being overly cautious and worried. When Truffle first came to live with her, Mom Paula rushed her to the vet for every little thing. She's a little less nervous with Brulee, but she still watches us like a hawk.
Feel better soon Katie.
xoxo
Wow, I wonder what it is that is making her sick. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe it was the the flea meds. Take care dear Katie.
We hope that fixes your itches. Mica Minnie Moo has some steroid pills she is taking for that too. She is so embarrassed cause she has a couple bald patches and looks like an alien.
Whew!!!!!!! We are glad that it was not too serious !!! We purr you keep feeling better and everything gets back to normal :) Sleep with your Mom tonight, it will make her happy ;) heehee
Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
Tiger,Treasure and JJ
Oh Katie! We're sorry you are so itchy. Ernie gets itchy like that sometimes. When it gets really bad, he gets one of those shots like you got. We hope you don't yak anymore...that's no fun at all! Feel better!!
I wonder if you're allergic to the flea treatment, sweet Katie. It was so sweet fur you to sleep with your hooman Brother. I bet Mom missed you too. I hope the V-E-T gets rid of the itches fur you. I'll be purring fur you, sweet Katie.
xoxo Kassey
We hope this is just some allergic reaction that you can avoid in future, and then no more vet visits and scaring your Mom. They get really protective of us. Which is nice - unless it means being taken to the vet!
Miss Katie, we all hope you feel better soon! Rupert says he will fix you some special crabmeat canapes that will set you straight. Yup, he's cooking with gas again!
Purrs from all of us and a *smooch* from Mommy.
Oh sure, here's Rutabaga right on time, moving in when he thinks I am not paying attention, wooing you with crab canapes. As if your affections could be purchased so cheaply.
Oh, boy! Please be all better very soon. :)
oh my, that's scary. I hope the shot does the trick and there be no more scary stuffs.
Well, we are glad it wasn't serious! Hopefully, the itchies will stop.
Drat. This time zone thing is just too much. By the time I wake up, that Rupert and Spitty are already all over you.
By golly, Katie, you wait till I get there with our hammock. Laying together in the hammock with a milktini under the moonlit sky is just what you need.
PAWS OFF, Rupert AND Spitty!
Love, Boomie
We hope that shot makes your itches go away and stay away Katie.
We're sorry you were sick after your dinner - Lucy is sometimes but after an hour or two she's back for more food. Mum puts it down to her being a bit of a piggy.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
I wonder what you could be allergic to? I hope it's not Momma!!!!? Maybe you had too many fleas and they left a deposit?
Anyway Katie, stop scaring your mom. She's a delicate flower and needs a bit of TLC xox
Hi Katie..we are so glad your Mom got you to the Vet and was able to get immediate help for your dermatis...I hate being itchy..
Of course you may come share my activity enrichment center!!
Hugs Madi
Beautiful Katie Isabella! Hope your itchies are gone soon and your Mom can relax.
Oh Katie Isabella!!! We do hope that steroid shot will stop your itchies. Me (Clarissa) will over groom my tummy and chew spots. Every now and then I get a steroid shot to help my own itchy issues.
p.s. We already love you, too!!!!
san has just got back from vacation and so we are posting furry late. yOu have steroid injecksions too? I just had mine and san says it is working well on me - at least i am not biting myself furry much. You are shure purty Ms Katie Isabella.
Ms Akira
Yikes - no more scarin' the mom like that - she can't take it. We hope they can figure out what is making you itchy - that can't be any fun!!
Poor Mom, I just bet she was scared. Hope this problem is just a small thing and easily taken care of.

Oh, sweet mom Carole and sweet Katie we are so happy this all turned out good. We hope that dermatitis goes away and stays away sweet Katie. We are happy you ate and enjoyed the visit with and sleeping with your human brother. Hugs and nose kisses
Aww I'm so happy you found a forever home with our good buddy, she's a most excellent mom so don't you fret, all will be fantastic!! xxoo
Star looks sternly at Katie, "Darling! You mustn't worry your mom!! But it will be fine. We had a sister who was allergic. The shots helped her for a long time and I don't think you're going to be as allergic as she was. Are you eating the same food that you have always eaten? I'm sure the first thing your mom will try is a trial diet. I'll be right over to groom you gently and soothe those itchy spots!"
I wonder if it's a tuxie thing. Miss Jack gets those under her chin sometimes & she gets all itchy. Switching to the grain free foodz is supposed to help but sadly, we switched to 'healthy bladder' food & the itchy came back with a vengance. So, now it's grain free dry & fancy feast wet. She seems to be a bit better. I look forward to seeing how Miss Katie comes along. Hope the one shot will do it. xoxo
That Woman
Dear Katie, Welcome to your new home. I am glad the dermatitis can be treated so easily. But shame on you for scaring The Mommeh! Princess Treasure
Oh we're so glad you have your own bloggie now! (sorry we're late to the party!) We hope that shot is the end to your troubles!
I was wondering about the flea stuff. she might be allergic to it..
hopefully you are feeding her good,corn-free food..
A steroid shot just masks the problem and doesn't answer what the cause is.
what was she eating before?
could be allergic to FF (yuck)
I truly understand panicking after losing a friend.. <3
That would scare your Mama something awful Katie! The good news is...your Mama loves you a whole bunch already :p
We had a foster cat who had skin issues that were food related. When we switched her to a grain free diet the condition disappeared. My sister's cat had a bad reaction to a topical flea medication... so there is that too as a possibility if she is on flea medication! Hopefully the vet will pin it down or the condition will disappear on its' own.Feel better soon Katie :)
the critters in The Cottage xo
Sending lots of purrs to you and your mom!
Katie, this only showed up a moment ago in our Google Reader! Bad Google!
We're sorry we're late, but we're here with purrs anyway and hoping you're fine now! Any idea what's causing the allergic reaction? Food?
(((Hugs))) to your mom!
Be good to your mummy, Katie. She's had a rough time.
After 18 and 19 years of Caesar and Prinnie, mom is always freaking out about me and Miles....
I am glad you are feeling better Missie Katieblossom
