Another feature I have is: I troll the bed at the veriest first light of day checking to see if Mom is conscious. I wait quietly by her face if it is still dark, testing the waters so to speak. I lean in close to see if her eyes are closed and if her breathing indicates sleep or (pump paw in the air) just pretending to sleep.
I feel I got her attention (she did) when I horked on the carpet and when I scratched the same carpet a moment before. Those sounds wake moms up from a sound sleep. Rather like their baby humans once upon a time when they were stirring in a room away...moms can hear everything.
Mom is going to work out this morning so she may as well get in there and make the bed, dress and assemble her face, pretty much in that order.

That is such a great crown Katie. Glad you have got your Mom's number and know just how to get her up. She should consider herself lucky, our person has at least five cats pushing her out of bed. Have a great week end.
Tell your Mama she has it good Katie! There are two dogs and an assortment of cats who consider it their duty to leave an inch on the edge of the bed for the humans every night! It's a wonder the humans can manage their daily animal chores for the lack of sleep!! :)

Horking always wakes up humans! Jenna gets behind my head on the pillow. That pulls my hair and most certainly wakes me up!

I was trying to say Katie that your crown is beautiful; Nellie has exquisite taste... AND I was also trying to say that your mom should slep on the floor; not only does this give you more room on the bed but she can sleep on the "carpet infractions" and never know they are there.

Wow Katie, you are the master of bed hogging. Your mom should be grateful that you allow her to share YOUR bed. If our mama is taking up too much bed space we have learned how to gradually push her to the edge. It is fun and she doesn't suspect a thing. We love your crown.

I'm sure that your Mom doesn't really mind the fact that you only allow her a tiny edge of the bed....by now she knows who's in charge of that bed! It's a good thing I can't get up on my parents bed anymore because of my arthritis because I'd FOR SURE be pushing both my parents to the edges! Love your crown Katie...VERY elegant.
