You Know What?

Mom said she could go the entire rest of the year and not get "the usual" in the morning.  We got up...she fed me and prepared her own food.

I ate. The coffee was finished making, and she decided on oatmeal for herself this morning.   It was in the bowl...walnuts added and stirred in.  Coffee was poured--- and as she came down the hallway to the computer room...VOILA!  A HUGE hork at the doorway awaited her.  I was nothing if not impressive with the amount.

Breakfast for her was rapidly cooling as she tried to clean it all up.  I went about my business.  She ate the cooled oatmeal and drank the lukewarm coffee.  That's her lot as a mom.  Tuff, but someone has to  do it.

Sushi and ice cream.  Pawfect for settling my tummy, don't you agree?  Mom took this as an example of my relaxing after all the horking activity that just exhausted me.  Watching her clean up is like watching a whirlwind after I hork all over the carpet.

I'm sure Mom appreciated your help at getting her morning started the 'right' way 'cos if she'd eaten her porridge and drunk her coffee straight away they would have been too hot and she might have burnt her mouth!
Quick finking on your part saved the day...and Mom's mouth!

We find that early morning hoarks wake the Mom up real quick therefore no need for coffee! MOL!

Yeah, this kind of thing happens here too. But all moms know cleaning up after us is in their contract. No whining allowed!

Hmmm, I think I must have been lucky. I rarely had horks to clean up. Eric used to leave me gigantic hair balls now and again but that was about it.

Sorry you had an upset tummy. XO

You are one tuff cookie, Katie. Our mom woulda let the hork harden and eat her breakfast, then clean up the mess. ;)

Katie, if an episode like that happened here, my selfish human would start feeding herself first, then us second! Just in case of a surprise upchuck.

Isabella has never horked and I choose to do it in the middle of the night. No foods get cold plus it's fun watching Mommy try to walk across the room without her glasses trying not to step in my hork! MOL!

Good Heavens, Katie, what a nice gift for your mum… Could you use some hairball medicine? There is some very nice natural medicine that works well. Or some slippery elm? Maybe a regular dose of one of those would keep things going in the right direction, as it were…

Gotta keep the mom bean hopping...it's good exercise. Plus we're pretty sure beans like eating cold fuds. :p

Sounds like your mom is like our dad, Katie. The moment the horking starts, he's ready to clean it up.

Dearest Katie Isabella,
Oh my, a couple of weeks ago I had to clean up lots of big horks and there is no telling if you have six; who got an upset tummy? Sometimes I know, when I see it happen. Not fun!
Hope all is well and that the carpet behaved.
Hugs,
Mariette

Katie, We have had an idea. As well as making sure your Mom doesn't burn her tongue on the hot coffee by horking BEFORE breakfast, why not make sure she works off all those calories by horking right AFTER she finishes breakfast too (heh, heh, heh).

TBT here: If it helps any, I found that a plastic dustpan and a squegee I cut to fit it is the easiest way to clean large horks. It goes into the compost bin (why not?) but liquidy stuff goes in to the garbage disposall as I rinse the dustpan and squegee.

20 years ago, it used to make me gag. Now, I just squegee it up without a second's thought.
