On the Other Paw...

Mom said to tell you that though I command that she help me tell you of all my feats at her sleep's expense, I don't always get my way.  Mom calls my knees elbows. But whatever she calls them, they are not allowed to stay in her ear for any longer than it takes for her to reach up and remove them.

I am allowed to lay my side and face next to hers when we go to bed.  BUT, if she needs to turn, I'm afraid she does and I get displaced.  I've tried to bribe her, but it doesn't work usually.  I lay across her head and ooze down onto her forehead and face.  That sleeping place I have just told you about--- the ol' head and face, is a no-go also after a few minutes.  So I don't always get my way.  Usually yes, but not always when it involves breathing and pressure on her neck.  Hey...breathe through your skin!  No need to disturb me for Pete sakes!   My side or shoulder and head are OK next to her head.  She'll fall asleep quickly with that because I purr so much and I'm so warm and exquisitely soft, she can't move.

I'm usually the boss, but I have to throw her a bone sometimes...ya know what I mean?

How could it be that you don't *always* get your way, Katie? It's important to let the humans think they are in charge, though. They like thinking that.

You and your mom certainly have some interesting sleeping arrangements, Katie. ;)

It seems like your human tries to lay down a lot of sleeping rules, Katie!

Nice that you will allow your Mom to BREATHE at night if she truly does find it TOTALLY necessary to do so and disturb YOUR sleep! :)

Yeah, okay, let her think she's in charge sometimes. We know the truth.

Moms always need to breathe for some strange reason! What is it about them? Sometimes when I give Mom too many kisses in a row, she says, "GAH! I NEED AIR!"

Love and licks,

I hate it when Mum has to turn the other side during the night and disrupt my sleep! I use her thigh or leg as a pillow.

Katie, your Mom is so lucky to just have you in the bed at night. On cold nights, there are sometimes 8 or 9 cats in the bed with the Mom here. And believe me, there is NO room for her. Anyway, you all have a great week end.

Katie, we sent a comment earlier, but we went to a white page and it never appeared. Please check spam. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

Since this last comment sowed up, we suspect the original one went poof. Misty May wanted to tell you that she is just like you with Mom and her pillow. She doesn't understand this need for Mom to breathe. Last night we all piled on and around Mom. She says it made it impossible for her to sleep. We don't get it. We all slept great. What do you mean, you don't always get your way, Katie! Surely your mom could hold her breath for a few hours so as not to disturb you! Eric used to lie across the top of my head, and it was not easy to sleep with 23 pounds weighing my head down.

If we only had thumbs Katie...then we'd get our way all the time. Sheldon is helping the mom bean with this, from the top of her shoulder.

Have a great easy Sunday!

Yep your mom needs to learn how to breathe through the skin, for you! :-)

"Breathe through your skin." MOL!

We understand that you have to throw Mom a bone every now and then, Katie. :)

Hugs!

Dearest Katie Isabella,
Yeah, breathing through the skin would be nice...
LOVE your photos here above, such a happy girl - your eyes speak even more than the words.

I mean, YES! What are pores for? Why can't they just *absorb* the oxygen from the room? Surely she could learn. *I* would like to observe all of these comfy sleeping positions. Perhaps I will tippytoe in on tiny cat feet?

I love these pictures of you. In that second shot, it looks like you staked out the one sun puddle and fit into it perfectly.

It's probably best you let her breath even though it is a bit inconvenient for you. It's very generous of you to allow it.

Don't feel bad, Katie...you aren't the only kitty who doesn't get her/his way. :-)

I may have mentioned that my Cammie has taken to following your example, Katie, though not, thank goodness, all night long. She will lie on my head and I will hear her purrs - and also her stomach, digesting food...

The nonsense we have to put up with when we're trying to sleep. Mommy doesn't like it when I step on her trachea - whatever that is. But she says she can't breathe. P.s. We hope our mom was able to help with the commenting thing.

Katie, it's the same here, the P.A. moves and we too get re-zoned - I think we need a new system! MOL XOX

Jan isn't too happy when we try to sleep on her face. She claims she has to breathe too. What is it with humans?

Simba said...

Our Moms are so selfish, Katie. I lie completely on my Mom's pillow so there is hardly any room for her head. She squeezes onto a corner only. Either my floofy tailio is in her face and tickles, or my face is there and my whiskers tickle. Then I commence with the grooming: I lick her hair! And she does not appreciate it! She says my tongue is rough on her scalp and she really doesn't want my slobber through her hair. Silly woman!
