Thanks Given

Kitties, please tell your pawrents thank you from Millie and Gracie's Dad.  Every comment has been read and considered and those that can fit their situation will be tried.  They asked me to say thank you on their behalf as they have no blog.  You have been so kind and wonderfully responsive to this really hard-to-bear-problem.

I feel disrespected Kitties because Monday night I got up behind mom's head and gave her another shampoo and haircut!  For some nutty inexplicable reason, she doesn't like this effort of mine!  NO idea what her problem is.  Then, after I finally stopped due to her flailing arms and mutters I waited a few minutes out of respect to HER and I reached down from my perch behind her head and patted her mouth.  I patted it very gently...maybe 6 times per episode of patting. I spoke quietly and purred very loudly for her listening pleasure.   I was only checking to see if she was awake.  If she was, I was going to ask if I could just give her the haircut then.  No luck.  She smiled.  I could feel it the next set of pats to her mouth, but she pretended to be asleep.

LAST night, I got on up there behind her head and kitties, let me tell you...she had wrapped her whole head in a  soft cotton bandana so I could neither shampoo her hair nor trim off the top hairs to style it. I couldn't believe it! I tried several times more in case *I* was dreaming and thus thought her head was covered! And the bottom line is:
she effectively barred my grooming attempts.  The kindness of my heart was rejected!

And I brought Donkey, Floppy Duckie, TURTLE and Floppy Mousie to the BED, and in it.  She had four of my very own toys and this is the gratitude I don't get!

  13. I cannot believe this, KI. I will never understand moms. Your own beautiful furs are so perfectly neat and lovingly arranged. How can your mom not want her head to look the same?? Humans. Ugh. Go figure....

  14. Poor Katie....your hairdressing attempts were thwarted by the bandana....may I suggest you advertise in your neighborhood "Katie's Kuts" for your hairdressing business and invite others to partake of your styling talents?? I think you could make some treat money!

  17. Bad mommy! How dare she! You were being so sweet to groom her and she's totally having one of it. Humans sure are strange Katie - very strange breed! I'd stop bringing her babies for a couple of weeks. That will fix her cuz she loves it when you bring your babies in to bed.

  19. Katie, our angel sisfur, Thelma, was quite good at the hair trim. For many years, our mom looked as if she had bangs on the back of her head. We cannot believe your mom covered her head. We bet you could get that bandana off with a minimum amount of effort. Sorry we don't get by much. We promise to do better. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo p.s. Sorry you didn't recognize the teaser. Mom made certain recognizable places like the Hotel Roanoke and St. Andrew's were not in the photo.

  20. Oh my, dear Katie, I had no idea that you were such a frustrated beautician!
Your Mommy is very loved. Maybe your Mommy could get a real hair wig to wear at night. But don't get a hairball, Katie!

  23. Katie, we think the Mom is correct in covering her head until you stop with all that grooming. It probably isn't good for you to be licking the hair.

  27. You are such a sweetie, I don't know why your Mom is rejecting your kind efforts. Humans are confusing. XO

  28. Well, Katie, we have to admit that SOMETIMES TBT feels his hair has been licked too much and requests a stopping...

  29. I think that is heinous! HEINOUS! The fact that she spurns your care and ministrations necessitates you moving on to PLAN B! OK!! What's PLAN B you ask? Well PLAN B is where you give her a full face massage with or without claws and kitty spit, it's up to you! I would suggest, as she obviously needs attention, that you start in hard and work your way down! It's the only way! ;-) ❤️❤️

  31. We hope Millie and Gracie can learn to get along better soon. XOXO

Now, for your other situation. It is not acceptable for the Humans to thwart our desires in any way. I have an idea: Perhaps since the fabric of the offending bandana is soft and pliable, it would make a good kneading surface. Just take those 10 little needle-sharp weapons and commence gentle kneading that grows stronger and more insistent over time. Then, when she removes it, you can proceed with your shampooing and styling.

  32. Oh, Katie, that is - well, We don't know HOW to describe it! Her ingratitude leaves Us speechless! Doesn't she realise what an honour you are trying to bestow on her?!
OUR Human loves it when Caspurr gives her a shampoo and head massage, even though She says it tickles. Perhaps you would like to come over here, and open a hairdressing salon with Caspurr, where you would be propurrly appurreciated.

  33. How rude of Mommy to disrespect your hairstyling efforts, Katie!

  34. We are sure that you were very upset over your delightful hair dressing Katie! Make sure that your Mommy can't try to do something awful with your wonderful fur as you could feel embarrassed if it didn't look right.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Poor darling Katie! If you want to be a hair dresser, you should be allowed to pursue your passion! WE never stopped a kitty from messing with hair in OUR house..... So feel free to groom any human here next time you visit Leo!

Leo says: Hear that! An open invitation! And I'm extending an invite too, come over and hang out with me? It's lonely without the mom, I could use a snuggle buddy..

  36. Dearest Katie-Isabella,
Haha, washing your Mom's hair and cutting it sounds different from the hair teasing that our Barty does all the time. No washing though. Speckie does wash my arms or hands but she's not a hairdresser it looks like.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
