Getting Older it Seems

Kitties, I am getting older it seems though in human years I am like in my 50's I guess.  52 to be exact.  I could be worse off but my git up and go has occasionally disappeared and I have to wait till it reappears.  It always does.

Mom is worried again but not terribly, that I am not eating my wet food as much as I should and she is getting  harder put to find one I will like more than 10 times.  Now I certainly can miss a meal kitties, but I have been horking up some good hairballs and food along with them.  Then of course my tummy is upset so I don't want to eat much for an unspecified time.  Too, they drum it into our parents to be vigilant about our eating and drinking and our box habits.  So what with not as much input...there isn't as much output.  One plus one equals two every time Mommy!

Have a wonderful Sunday Kitties  Mom said it is only 62 degrees this morning so she took 3 turns around the big park early today and more during the rest of the day.  She told me she will head out again tomorrow morning to do the same and every day thereafter that she can.  That makes her happy to come home and play with ME!

  2. Our grandpa bean used to say, "getting old ain't for sissies". Guess that's true for kitties as well as beans. We sure hope your mom bean is able to find a food that you like and won't upset your tummy Katie.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

  4. We know, Katie...we're getting older too. Heck, I'm 13 now. Sometimes I don't feel like eating either. It worries the mom but then things get back to normal. I hope things get back to normal for you too. ~Wally

  5. Too bad you can't have Boodie's appetite, Katie - she wolfs down her own food (totally not picky), and then if not watched, will eat Binga's and/ or mine too! And she's 15. I hope your appetite comes back soon.

  6. Katie, have a problem with food too. TBT gives me less food but more often, (like 6 times a day) and he smears the food around the bowl so I eat less fast. It has helped a LOT!

I used ta have a horking problen every few days and now it only about once a month. ~ IZA

  8. Miss Katie sweetheart, It is the human condition to be in a perPETual state of worry for us furbabies! Sometimes mum says I am very lacklustre, yep my lustre is severely lacking! And then all of a sudden I get the zoomies and she smiles again! When it comes to the noms, I am the King of Picky Eaters! She says she's spent thousands of pounds on stuff I've only eaten once! She could open a store MOL. Never mind, I will be over later for some ...you know ..... some stimulating political discussion and rigorous intellectual exchange ! ;-) ❤️❤️❤️

  9. Moms get worried very easily, KI. Since I have never missed a meal or refused a treat since I moved in here, Mom says if the day ever comes that I don't eat, she will need to be institutionalized from the worry.

  10. Katie, 50 is the new 30! ! ma 16 1/2 which puts me in my 80s in human terms.I am very picky too. My mum says she has probably taken almost as much food to the local shelter as I eat! I find something I like and eat it for a while, then once I have gone off it I don't often eat it again in the future.

  11. We all are fussy about our food too. It is OK Katie if you demand different foods every now and then. After all the humans don't eat the same thing three times a day. You all have a great week end.

  12. It's OK to be picky as long as you do eat some
    We all go through stages.
It's when you stop eating that your mum needs to worry.

  15. Well Katie, you have a long way to go before you are REALLY feeling your age dear girl! Sometimes we just don't FEEL like eating a whole lot - if we're not as active as we used to be we don't NEED as much foodables rattling around in our tummies! #1 is staying healthy because our humans need us so just get lotsa rest and eat good food and the rest will fall into place.

    Love and hugs, Sammy

  17. Well sweet Katie, furst, we's sorry you're havin' trubbles. We'll fur sure keep you in our purrayers. Now dat less in less out thing. Let us tell ya', mommy regularly goes without food fur long periods of time (cuz we don't have money to buy it. anyways) and dat less in less out is a myth. Da body will start eating itself and continue to purrduce stool and urine. It's just a medical fact. Oh initially it will stop, but after a day or two, things will start moving again, it's just things you don't really want movin'. So, purrlease sweet Katie, EAT!!! We's sendin' lots of purrayers.

    Luv ya'

  18. Katie, you are still a pretty young kitty. I hope you feel better soon and start eating more. I know Phoebe is always bugging us for food, but then only eats a little at a time.XO

  19. I'm 70, and am doing okay. Ron, however, has had "stomach flu" (gastroenteritis) for a week. He's 75, so it hits him pretty hard.
Hope you get your food situation sorted out. Maybe your Mom could just do those wet foods in rotation, over and over. :-)

  20. Getting older isn't great, but it happens to all of us and even humans when they get older go off their food at times it is normal but also not so good

  21. We get picky about our foods too Katie. We can like something for breakfast but hate it for lunch but end up liking it again two days later. We're both on the same page with the liking and not liking foods which confuses our Mommy and Daddy. It keeps our peeps on their toes. We do hope you keep eating though Katie. Purrs to you!

  29. My Human says she sympathizes with your Mommy. Even though for all my 12 years I have gone off my foods with some regularity (every 6 or 8 weeks, I have a weird week) she **STILL** doesn't get it that for me it is a normal thing. Honestly, back when I was skinny as a rail, I could almost see why she worried, but I've been a porker for a few years now and honestly, it is MORE than apparent I am not going to starve myself! They worry too much--they need to get lives. I'll be over later and we can complain UTB, ok? XOXOXO

  30. I was much like you Katie about my wet food. And I was up chucking 2-3 times a day. But now that I am eating raw chicken, I never turn down a meal and I only up chuck maybe once every 4-6 weeks! And I do play, but not for as long at a time

  32. Dear Katie, please try to keep your foods down. It worries your Mom and is hard on the carpet. Mickey Mouser never liked the same foods for more than a week. He'd eat it until I was confident enough to order a case, and then no more. He's been very good since Rufus came (knock on wood).
Our go-to brand for Tommie, when he wouldn't eat, were BFF pouches by Weruva.

  37. You're still kittenish, Katie! When you wanna be. Cat's have such a long young adult phase. They're kittens for a bit, and old for a bit, but in between is a long long long (hopefully super long) adulthood.
