Nurse

Kitties!  We are such excellent nurses that I think we should be employed in hospitals and nursing homes.  At least three kitties per floor in small hospital and more in large medical centers.  We should be paid with fuds and treats.  The loving we get will be a good salary.  Come and go as we please but available on request too.  Sleeping the night with patients will be by a fair system as many will want us to sleep with them too if they are able.  Mom is OK, by the way.  I was just saying kitties should be employed as nurses.

I have been roosting on mom's chesticles these past six or so nights as I love to do that.  I love snuggling into her chest and tum  too, but lying atop is so warm and I like her breathing motion. As always, I get off after a few minutes only to return making my usual announcement all the way down the hall and into bed.  I bring my favorite babies in for us to play with.  Last night, when mom was growing a bit weary of my coming and going, I made my last trip for the night up to the bed.  I settled by her side, took a full bath and went to sleep and finally she got to sleep too.  This morning, she looked to her side and Donkey was there!  He was!  And floppy mousie was between the foot board and mattress and red heart mousie was on the floor.  Mommy said if you could hear how I sound with my special "I brought you my best gifts, momma" voice that I only use when bringing gifts to her, you might smile.  I know she sure does.

Here is Donkey... and on her pillow is my gift of furs to help her know I am always here to keep watch.

Donkey

Furs just for her...

  3. You take very good care of your mom. We're certain that kittehs deployed in hospitals would be very beneficial.

  4. You do take good care of your mom, Katie. For some reason, our human gets super-cranky at being woken up all through the night for cuddles (by Derry), though. Maybe he just doesn't have your touch!

  10. Dearest Katie Isabella,
That is very sweet and oh so true.
Kitties are the very best nurses, when I got home from the hospital all three times, I had my very special nurse Barty.
He too leaves furs on 'his' pillow, the one below mine and sticking out so he can lie there as a halo around my head.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

  13. Aw Katie, you are a wonderful nurse for your Mommy. And you're right; wouldn't it be great if we cats were on staff at nursing homes and hospitals?

  14. We agree.....kitties are excellent human caretakers and should be employed in hospitals and nursing homes to help out. I think it's so sweet how you keep your Mommy safe and secure at night sleeping with her and sharing your favorite toys. You're a sweet girl.

  18. Katie, you are so precious to bring Mom toys in the night. I sure wish I could hear those announcements. Yes, we agree that kitties should be allowed in Nursing Homes. We live in an Independent/Assisted Living Home now in our own apartment, and they allow kitties and small dogs. We can't roam around tho, but stay in our owners apartment. That's why M & D chose this place cuz I could come along.

  19. Katie Isabella, you are the matron of all nurses! I think you should bring everything onto the bed and place them around her a bit like a shroud!! Very pretty! MOL I don't bring toys to The Staff, but the other day I brought two dead baby mousies and a pile of bomit to the step just outside the back door! She was everso pleased :-) ❤️❤️❤️

I would love to have some furs on my pillow, too! Your mom is so lucky to have such a sweet girl :-) Kisses xoxo

  22. Every patient who wants a kitty should have one. There are a lot of caged kitties in the world. Supply should meet demand somehow!

  25. That warms my heart. Tommie used to bring gifts overnight too. He'd come up the stairs announcing the delivery making weird merrrowy noises (because his mouth was full of toys) and then I'd hear a little CLUNK noise when the toy hit the floor by the bed. I'd go to sleep with a smile on my face. Now a days, when I wake up I find several toys strewn around the bedroom by Rufus the Red. All kitties are different and wonderful.
    Thank you for reminding me!

  28. Your Mommie is soooooo lucky Miss Katie! She is so loved by you! Ralphie brings his fleece on a stick up to bed every night singing his song to while Mom calls his name back. He was very excited last night because he found one that had been "lost" in the basement and brought it quite proudly!
