Working on It. By Mommy & Me Both

Katie says:  Wowzers, mom has been to the doctor and in desperation because of the pain in her lowest back to a chiropractor as well for the first time in her life.  Two times there, but the second time she almost could not make it to the car for the pain.

Now, it is Mommy here:  It is not the practitioner's fault.   This is more a medical doctor problem right now rather than adjustments and etc.  They were very kind in the office I chose and down the road, I will return while I am healthy to try to prevent problems.  But  for now..I went back to the doctor and to my first physical therapy.  Ultra sound, stretching and moist heat (OH that was surprisingly nice!) with electrical stim pads on my back.

I came home and for a good 5 hours I felt better.  Lots of pain but not at practically a 1level 10 the way it was for a week.  More like 8.  The  timing of the pain med was changed too, to one every 4 hours or 5 hrs if I could wait,  instead of the 2 pills I had when I rose at 6 and 2 more when I went to bed at 11.  That was 16+ hours between doses and I was in agony.  SO,  the plan is I go back 3 times a week for a while to see what happens. No one knows if it's sciatica or not but it may not be if the therapy helped that much for awhile. I have taken enough  space on her bloggie.  But and thanks for the chance to say what's happening. PLEASE help the helpless and innocent.  AND tell other cat parents to spay and neuter their pets!

KITTIES!  WOOFIES!!  She's a hog for taking all that space.  It's National Feral Cat Day.  Thank heaven she got us back here to SAY so.  Sheesh.  She hired someone to go to the grocery store  for us...man, mom can't walk 25 feet without doubling over and complaining as though the world was crashing!  I'm tired of it and I hope to pity sake she gets better.  I have to have my brushies on the dining table!  My human sisfur will come over wif Sticky One next Tuesday and take me to get my lethal claws cut off and THREE!  COUNT 'EM...THREE MATS cut out.  Where's good help when you need it?  It sure ain't here! I think I'll scratch her.  Right now!  *reaches out arm*

Bye.  We're finished complaining.  Maybe.  xxoo

  8. Oh, poor Katie's mom! My mom suffered terribly with a back issue about 5 years ago where she too couldn't walk sometimes, the pain was so bad. There were days when she couldn't even get dressed! (Pantyhose? Fuggetaboutit!) It was fun for us having her home but not fun for her at all. We did all we could to help her heal and we know you'll do the same.

  14. Oh, Katie, we just love you. Your mommy having to hire some to do the grocery shopping made us sad. We sincerely hope the PT and medicines will help and that the pain will abate. The lady will pray!

  15. Oh Katie love, I feel your pain sweetie, but in all honesty, you mom deserves a break right now. When our humans are in pain, we suffer. So you want her to get well quick so she can get back to normal and do all the special things for you that she should do. So give mommy some head bumps and extra kisses. We hope she gets well soon. Smooch for your sweetie.

  18. Whoa! Tell your Mom to suck it up like I tell my peeps. Pop won’t even take any pain meds. TW is whining all over the place because of her thumb. We don’t complain like that. BTW, tell your Mom not to go the epidoural route cos it only works 5% of the time. Sending your Mom healing purrz.

  20. Dearest Katie Isabella,
That sounds dead serious and I know too well what you're living through. It was the fall of 2009 that I got on opiates for excruciating back pain. Had an expensive MRI done and even hurt my knee that it got so swollen and I had to move around on crutches. Till in January I completely got paralyzed. Opiates could not subdue the pain and if someone had offered me a shot for ending the pain I would have wanted to...
Thanks to Prednisone I got back to moving again and it was a very rare auto immune disease where the body attacks itself. Weird at times but aside from some sciatica bouts I've not had the same problems.
Hoping that yours will sooth away soon as well. If you lived through some rainy days that also helps! We must dress well, wearing some layers out of protection and staying alert.
Big hugs to you and wishing all of you well.
    Mariette

  23. What a bummer for you and your mom, KI. Mom is a huge believer in physical therapy since her knee surgery, so we're hopeful that you mom will be up and around and playing with you soon. We will say prayers for her recovery ....and for your mats. xoxo

  26. Sis,Do hope you continue to find some relief and it can be managed. I also have had that pain and know how hard it is to deal with. I went to an ortho chiropractor for 13 years on and off in Ca. and it was a Godsend. Wish I lived closer I would be there in a second to help you out. Continuing the prayers for you daily. XOXO <3

  27. Oh sweet Katie, weez know what yous mommy be goin' fwu. Our mommy has those bad pains all da time too. Sum days she walks wound all hunched over cuz she can't even stand up stwaight. It's much worse in da winter or when it rains cuz as they get older, their pains get worse. So cut hers a little slack. And tell hers dat ifin hers weally like da lectwode therapy to have hers doctor write hers a scwipt fur a TENS unit so she can do it at home too. Sumtimes it helps mommy and sumtimes it dusn't, but hey, least it's anuvver tool in da awrsenal. Cuz OMC 16 hours between meds is ridiculous. pain meds typically only work fur 4-6 hours, even da extended release kind. Don;t know what she be takin' but just watch out fur rebound headaches. At da furst sign of them, get to da doctor to change meds. Those awe actually worse than da udder pain. Anyways, ifin yous mommy wants to talk to mommy y'all can send us a email. Weez sowry yous have mats but weez glad yous gunna get 'em taken care of. Sendin' purrayers.

    Luv ya'

    Dezi and Lexi

  28. We have grocery delivery here, so Mommy can not be so tired. And it doesn't even cost that many green papers and some say if you order so much it is free (like 50 green papers, which is easy to shop). Maybe you have this?
You both are in our prayers.

  29. OH poor mom-san :-( Back pain is the worst! I've been to therapy and got that electrical pad thing, too...that felt so good. But the therapy itself didn't work for me. I hope your mom gets better soon xoxo

  31. Oh poor Mommy! It's been a tough year for her! I bet she will glad to see the backside of 2015, for sure!

It is, however, an OUTRAGE that she has summoned someone to haul you off to be manhandled by people at the stabby place! How dare she!

We do offer Mommy our biggest simpafeez though--the only pain the Human ever hadded like that (maybe) was that kidney stone a few years ago, and that only lasted for one night. If she had something that wented on and on, you could prolly hear her screamin, all the way from here to your house. We hope your poor Mommy gets some relief very soon. Maybe you better not slash her right now. OMG--I can't believe I said that!

  34. Oh, we're so sorry your mommy is suffering from such horrible pain! We sure hope the doctor is able to help and get to the bottom of things. Glogirly has had good luck with a chiropractor for some minor things, but the big stuff has needed a medical doctor first.
Please give her a big hug for us.

  41. Aw, sweet Katie, try to be a good nurse for your mommy! She needs you!
I had the electro thingie when I was in rehab and when I had PT at home they got me my very own TENS unit. It's not as good, but I can wear it anytime I want for how long I want and it does help. We're purring and praying for you both!
