Mommy's Baby

Today is the third anniversary of our Admiral's passing.  I know mom loves her still.  Not even three years have made that love any less strong.  When Admiral guided Mom to me at the Vet rescue, she knew we were made for one another and she took care to have mom know that by having her preserved paw print given to mom the very moment she met ME.  It was her seal of approval.  We two, mom and me, melded together instantly.  It was love at first sight. Smoochies and air biscuits and real biscuits and purrs to match a chain saws when I was placed in mom's arms.

We are commemorating Admiral and mom's great love for her and a celebration of their bond.  Mom misses her so much but I fill that deepest sorrow with love.  That's the way it was meant to be.

  13. Purrs to your human today, Katie. My human still misses the cat before Sparkle, who has been gone for almost 13 years. She will always love her best - even though she loved Sparkle, and loves me dearly, and that is just the way things are.

  26. I think Admiral lives in your belly. Mom's old dog, Smoki lives in my belly. She helped Mom find me and now she helps me be a good girl by living in my belly. Mom kisses her a lot. Don't be surprised if your mom kisses your belly today!

Love and licks and belly kisses,

  31. Katie, that's exactly how we got Peppers. When Torrie went to the Bridge, she led MomKatt to PetSmart and there was Peppers. He was of course a big kitty, like he is now, and they had him in the biggest cage they had, but MomKatt could tell right off that he was miserable and she worried that, confined there much longer, he'd get grouchy and unhappy enough to maybe bite someone. She fell in love with him & told DadKatt Torrie wanted them to take Peppers home - so they did! But like your meowm w/Admiral, MomKatt still mourns Torrie and really can't look at any of her pictures very long. They just tear her to pieces, even after all this time. It was so unfair she got out of PetSmart after MomKatt had been wanting her for so long, only to have heartworms kill her while MomKatt was at work.

Anyway, didn't mean to be such a downer. Admiral was beautiful and both stories show how, when a beloved pet starts their 10th life, there is another pet needing love, just waiting for you to be led to him/her. It's a mark of how much your meowm loved Admiral that she took you to her heart & you both dwell there now.

    Love you guys ...
    Selina

  33. Sweetie, M and I have leaky eyes here today in reading your post and Admiral's bloggy. It's so touching and loving, which is how you, Admiral and mom are. We're so happy Admiral guided mom to you because you were just what mom needed then - someone new to pour her heart and soul into. Losing Admiral was so very decastating for her. She will always love and miss Admiral, but you being there helps her bear the loss.
