Wednesday Whining Maybe?

Kitties, mom does not know how long until a normal stool.  I had that enema with soupy stuff as well at the end, on Monday.

Yesterday I just barely ate or drank. But I did drink enough that I gave the litter box one decent clump.  Does any kitty have experience with this?

Today, I had a decent breakfast and drank two times.  Mom is still waiting on the train to bring the poo.  It may have de-railed because I haven't yet.

Mom just dropped off a note asking the v-e-t how long.  She hates the idea of me going as badly as I do, so I hope I don't get told to go.  I may actually hurt mom with scratches and maybe even a bitey because I am that scared still.

pee ess:  I can't get Savannah's Pawtracks bloggie!  I go there but there is no link.  Did she stop?

  1. Derry had one enema several years ago (3.5) and it probably was a few days before he popped again. His normal, however, is every 2 - 3 days, whereas Nicki's normal is every day to 1.5 days. So not every cat, just like not every human, is meant to go every day like clockwork.

Lots of healing purrs to you, Katie, we hope you're back to normal soon. :-)

  2. Katie we think every being is different but your Mom did the right thing and called the Vet's office to check with them. We are sure everything is going to work out just as nature intended, but we are purring for poop.

  3. Katie, we agree with everyone else. It may take a couple of days to get the poop going. If you ate and drank this morning, that is a great sign. We sure send lots of purrs to you. We have a sick cat too and just got home from the vet. A high temp and is having trouble breathing. You take care and have a great day and eat some more.

  4. Well I give the kitties some lactulose when they can't go. The vet told me to give Megat once a day and he went did his poo usually after 2 days of the lactulose. He was an old cat and didn't drink much water so he had very hard stools that stopped in his intestines.

  8. It's always good to check with the vet, but it's true that sometimes kitties take a while to get back to normal in this department, especially if we have been stressed.

Savannah's blog may have just had a glitch - it shows up for me right now.

  10. It might take you a couple of days, sweet Katie. But your Mommy did the right thing by checking with the v-e-t. Big hugs and purrs to you both.

  11. We're still purring for your trains to get back on track and on schedule.
Our Mommy says she would imagine it would be a day or two after all of that and the trauma. Tell your Mommy we are purring for her too.

  14. Dear Katie, we purr you feel better soon.
Years ago, our Mickey was constipated. After his enemas(he had 3 at the Vets),
it was recommended that he be on Lactulose long term. Now, there are other meds for kitties prone to constipation. We are sure your Vet will guide you.

  17. You should talk to Boris Kitty or Humanz 2. They’ve been through it all with poop. I usually go every day or every other day depending on how active I’ve been and how much I eat. The pumpkin soup helps but sometimes I won’t drink it.

  18. We hope things get back to regular with you. It's good to ask the vet, but if the head peep recalls correctly, after one of the cats who came before had an enema, it was a couple days before he went again, between the stress and his not eating a lot to fill 'er up enough to get things going again.

We see Savannah's blog fine. If you can't see it, maybe try clearing your cache to see if that works like a web browser enema for it?

  19. Katie, relax. Stress only makes this worse, for everyone. Stay in touch with the vet, keep the fluids going, but relax. ~xoxo~

  20. Katie, like others have said, it may take a day or 2 before you poop again. 'Specially since you haven't really eaten a lot.

Did the vet suggest adding any laxative to your foods to help you poop more regular? Zoey gets Miralax in her canned foods.

  21. Hopefully tomorrow you will have a little poop. Sometimes an enema cleans everything out and what is up high has to move down. I think you might have to go on some miralax or lactulose after this to help keep things regular. Can kitties have pumpkin like puppies? Keep us updated please sweetie.

  28. Dearest Katie....I'm purring for your poop-train to begin working right!! I don't go every day - maybe every other day but maybe because of the stress you've had you're just getting back to normal more slowly! I hope you don't have to go back to the vet either but if you do, just be patient because he and your Mom are trying to help you!!!!

Savannah has been posting but less than usual since her new format/mission. No worries!

    Hugs, Sammy

  33. Poor Katie! I'm purring so very anxiously for my dear furriend. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I'm sure your meowm understands that you don't feel good and are scared so I'm sure she doesn't take the bitey too personally. But take care of meowm 'cause she's trying all she can to help you!
