Ooopsy Daisy

Kitties!  Mom wants to know if anyone can answer her here.

Since I got back from the v-e-t visit, mom has tried to do as the v-e-t said and she has managed to smear a dab (not the recommended inch of product, just 1/4 maybe) of hairball gel on my paw for three days.  Last night I had a hairball only throw up.  Is that OK?  Oh there was a LOT of fur and no fuds.  Maybe this IS helping me.  Is this the way the product works?  Both ends or one end?  I am using Laxatone.   I have a poo every day.  Mom said she hasn't been in there yet to check for the 24 hrs. ending at 7 today.

I am eating well so far, especially my horrifyingly expensive Royal Canin.  $1.52 a small can hurts but I don't throw it up.  I like the even bitey good texture too.

Guess what Kittiea!!??  Last night a first.  Instead of bringing my toys to the bedroom (I have resumed that; when I was sick, I had quit).  I brought DONKEY right up to her midriff and laid him there!  Once I tried and he dropped out of my mouth at the bottom of the bed between bed and and mattress. And once I brought a live mouse into the bed and chased him all over till mom turned on the light and found blood everywhere.  She said that was NOT funs.  Her bad, not mine.

Lion is still languishing on the floor in the living room, still hoping for a chance.

Three pats with my pads to the face is always wake up call and it worked.  I have eaten and now on patrol.  Oh, and I lean hard with my side against her too.  If neither work, it's time for the rear up on my legs and come crashing down with my front paws into tender areas.

Did you see that precious Coral, that tiny jewel of a baby, flew away from her mommy last night?  Broke mine and many other hearts of mommy's and kitties everywhere.  Please go see her mom.

  1. We are so very sad to hear about lovely Coral :(

Yes, hairballs with no food are good! They are not only easier to clean up, but they also mean you are getting all of your nutrition :-)

  2. That is fine that you threw up the hairball. That probably was already formed by the time you put the Laxatone on your Paw Katie.
We were so sad about Coral. Poor little thing but Jeanne did her very best to help her.

  3. Niko tends to get constipated (maybe partially due to hairball) and we sometimes use Laxatone, too. Tiny bit and it works for him :-)
I think just haiball with no food is good! Means you are getting rid of only unnecessary stuff.

I'm so sorry to read about Coral. Too young to run to rainbow bridge..

  4. Yes, the hairball only is a good thing pretty Katie! We were very sad to see that little Coral had to leave.

  5. I agree with the others that a furball-only throw-up is probably good thing...doesn't indicate any food problems. I left a message for Coral's Mom.

  6. We mostly eat Royal Canin mum says ouch when she pays for it at the supermarket but the only other one we'll eat is Sheba! Mum tries to give us a small amount of katalax every couple of weeks on our paws and it seems to work as we don't have fur balls very often.

  7. My kitties with the long furs never want anything to do with the hairball goop. I smear it on their paw, they give me the evil eye and smear it around the house on the furniture. No way they are licking that nasty stuff off! Makes a big mess everywhere! I started mixing it in wet food and they google it right up. I figure it don't matter how it gets to their tummy, just needs to get there.

A live mouse????!!!! How exciting! We don't get toys like that around here. You're one lucky kitty. Willow would love nothing more than a live mouse to hunt.

I'm sads too about precious Coral. So sad,but I know her mommy did everything possible for her.

  8. The hairball remedy seems like it is working. Yea! It sounds like you are retaining the food, and thus the nutrition. The remedy can also keep your digestion flowing, so no constipation (because no hair in the tummy, etc.). This is great news!
That is sweet to take toys to Mom, but leave the real mice alone! They aren't good for you, or Mom!

  10. Myst has done wonderfully on expensive hills feline ID. no more asthma or vomiting. If katie wont eat the laxitone , vaseline is just as good. You can smear the laxitone on the upper arm to keep it off furniture and litterbox. it is supposed to allow the hair to pass through the intestines.

  11. We are also sad about Coral.
We are happy that you are doing well though :) Sounds like things are working and we see some good advice given in the comments.
Julie caught a tiny mouse, but Mom took it away and set it free!

  12. Miss Katie, maybe Mommy needs a night light to watch for live gifts like a mouse.

  13. It sounds like you are doing well, Katie - I am not sure how the hairball stuff works, though. A straight hairball without food is not bad, but I think the gel should help it actually move through your system.

  14. We are happy you is doing better so the mom bean doesn't worry so much.

Great work with the live mousie. That would have freaked out our mom bean too!

We is furry sad too about little Coral. Mom beans eyes were leaking last night.

  15. Yakking up a hair ball is fine. Eric used to get Katalax to keep the fur moving through his intestines, but he still used to yak up lots of big hair balls.
I was very sad to hear about little Coral.

  18. A hairball without food is good, Katie. The hairball medicine will help keep you from having hairballs too...so we think it is still working. Tell your mom to keep giving it to you.

  19. The only bad thing about a hairball with no foods is that it makes a much less spectacular pile for the Human staff to clean up, hee hee.

Darling, I am so pleased you are better! But the Human says if I ever bring a live mousie into *her* bed, I will never be allowed in the bedroom again!!! Her nerves are still shot from the B**B** experience. She can hardly bring herself to type the words. XOXOXOXO

  22. I'm pretty sure if I pushed on Mom's face to wake her up, she'd die of a heart attack. I think you are lots of fun, KI. I'm happy you are eating and feeling better.

  26. Katie Mom could not get any of us to lick that off of our paws. When Abby was here She had constipation issues and Mom added organic pumpkin to her food everyday. We are glad you are feeling better. And we too are very sad about Coral.

  27. Being a human I have never had a hairball but they don't sound nice......

  28. Nicky used to LOVE Laxatone. He licked it like candy. TW had to stop him after he licked an inch. He had a bad constipation problem but in those days TW didn’t know about anal expressions and stuff. Glad you’re feeling better.

  29. Yes, we think hairball only yak is a good thing, Katie and Mommy. :)

Katie, it is so nice to hear you're feeling so much better, even enough to bring Mommy presents in the night. :)

    Hugs!

  30. You brought a live mouse right into bed with you? MOUSES!

Yeah, I can kinda see how that might not have gone over all that well. Just kinda, mind you. Just kinda...

  32. Hello dear Katie Isabella! So glad that things are doing what they should for you. As above, hairball without food is normal so don't be worried. I see your litter box habits are back to normal too! Went by and left Coral's Mom a message. So very sad for her.
