The Aftermath on Caturday!

Kitties, I did NOT like the boomers I heard last night and I was under the table facing the wall, away from the boomers that may have come through the windows and grabbed me!!  Mom was reading a magazine and spoke to me from time to time telling me not to be afraid.  I felt some comfort from that or I would have been UTB!!!

Finally she said "Let's go to bed" and I trotted right along side her as we made the rounds to the windows and then to bed.  I was on the bed before she could draw up the sheet to her chin so that my sharpies wouldn't penetrate her furless neck and chest!  She bore the sharpies rather than take a chance on my letting fears of booms make me go UTB if she moved me a bit to get the sheet up.  We passed the night well.  I got up close to her on the outside of the bed edge where she wants to be, and squeezed next to her.  She felt sorry for me so she scooted back to give me more room.  In return, she got to sleep till 6:30!!!

Mom found a whisker this morning.  That is four in total in getting closer to three years (next January).  They are hard to find because they are white and the carpet is off white.  Brother has one, and the other three are taped to the cabinet.

Here is someone that MAY be in the bed.  Maybe.  I don't see anyone but they may be there...

And here is the Admiral where she best loved to be.  Mom's side on mom's pillow.

  6. We read that more pets go missing on 4th July because of the boomers. We're glad you were safe in bed with your mommy.

  7. Safe inside is definitely the best place to be when there are boomers outside. Our Gracie snuggled up with me on the couch, as she regularly does.

  10. Boomies are so loud! Jenna stayed on my pillow last night until the boomies were over--like midnight. She felt brave enough then to take over her watch in front of the patio door.

  12. I love that pic of the Admiral laying like a human. I’m not scared of booms but there was one last night that startled both me and Pop.

  13. Where they fireworks boomers, Katie?

Here, in the late afternoon, we had thunder but it wasn't all that close even though it seemed to go on FOREVER. Then it stopped and sometime in the middle of the night... Arthur arrived. MOUSES!

Neither girls were upset by the boomies going off. Annabelle isn't too frightened of loud noises, but Boo is. Boo got upset after Mom turned off the lights and there was nature's natural light show (thunder and lightening) and she went UTB until both she and I curled up on each side of Momma and slept until oh 5am. 15. Katie, those fireworks sure can be disturbing. We're glad that your Mom was there to reassure you. We love the photo of Admiral on the bed. That's exactly where Ashton loves to hang out, too. Well, Ashton hangs out on our bed, not on your Mom's bed, because that would be just weird.

  16. We are so glad fireworks are illegal here - it doesn't keep them away completely but there are a lot less than where you are! We actually ignore them pretty much.

  17. Our Ashes hated those "boomers," too. Glad you had a good night, Miss Katie. xo

  18. Meow-Me is the only who is noticeably afraid of boomers (fireworks or thunders). I'm not afraid of them but I will run back into the house if I'm at the catio and a large truck or bus drives by.

Stay under that nice comfy blanket, Katie. I'll need just 2 mins to get there and join you. xoxoxo

  22. Awww Katie - those boomers are nasty aren't they. We had some last nite too, but I was quite brave and didn't hide. M dis say we didn't have to hear any of those that rattle the windows tho, so maybe I felt safer that way. The pictures of Admiral are soooooo cute.

  26. Katie, I don't like the fire-boomers either. Last night I tried to crawl underneath the couch when they started. Tonight they're starting up again. I think I'll stay in my room. It's much safer.

  27. You let her sleep as late as 6:30 am!
Wow, that was furry, furry generous of you, Katie!
Still, it's only right and proper to reward the humans when they behave properly. That's what is called Reinforcement Training (mol)

We have boomers almost effurry night from the Arab village that lies opposite our neck of the woods, so we just had to get used to it. Effurrytime there's a wedding there, or any kind of celebration, it's time for boomers. They are furry pretty sometimes, with lots and lots of colours, but they make such a lot of noise.Sometimes, they go on way past midnight.

  34. Aw, Poor Katie! Leo was most bothered by the booms around here.. Star didn't like them, but the new girls hardly seemed to notice! I think Leo would have enjoyed a comforting cuddle if he knew you were afraid too!

  35. That's how I sleep with my Mum too Katie with my head on the pillow - if I feel like a change I get up and move right against her face so she has to move away so she can breathe and I get the pillow all to myself.
