The Day After

Kitties and woofies, I want to thank you all for coming to my Pawty.  I had the best of times.  Mom tried to help by serving the noms. Mario took care of the bar and CK, Stunning Keisha came over without my even meowing and played some tunes for us.  Oh My Cat...it can't get any better.  It was a day to remember.

I have one more thing for you all to see.  A special Gotcha Day came yesterday by Feline Post.  A First Day Issue.  I will save it always. LOOK at the STAMP! My mustache! Never mind the postmark.  Thank you Benedict.

Kitties, I had to slip out to keep an appointment during the Pawty.  No one noticed which was my intent.  I got back quickly-- but I had an appointment at the v-e-t. One, I found I am still 11.5 pounds, and I had a needed pawdicure while there.  But there was a revelation that was a shock to my Katie system.  (I changed v-e-t's after I had that horrible URI- as my previous one did not tell me what I had when I was so sick and mom had to go elsewhere to get the help I needed).

Moving on, I will say my paperwork was faxed over and it seems I am 7 years old, not the age  they told mommy I was at my old Vet's office. Why they told mommy I was 4 at the very most when I adopted her as mom,  I do not know.  That is likely a guesstimate by them as well, but they are pretty good at that.  But they didn't want mom to know my real age cause she asked and asked and asked some more because my behavior is so kittenish.  She thought I was 3.  Closed issue now though. She loves me.

Thank you over and again for attending my Pawty and thank you to all who made it a success.  I love you all too.

  2. Sounds like you have a good vet now, still sorry you had to see him in the middle of your party! Age doesnt matter to kitties, does it? some play up into way old age, and some mostly stop when they're way young. Star plays more than Leo sometimes, and she plays harder for sure! She's a serious attacker and Leo is a lazy player, MOL

Leo says: I thought I lost sight of you for a while.. not that I was stalking you or anything! I mean.. it was your party after all, I just wanted to make sure you were having fun at it! Yeah, that's all! Um, anyway, thanks for the good time at yer party!

  8. Great pawty. Glad I could help. My original vet kept giving the peeps different birthdays and years for my age. They would ax each time I went. Even now, they don’t know if I’m 9 or 10 or older. My 8th Gotcha Day is coming up in 2 weeks and I haven’t slowed one bit. I still love to run and play.

  9. We had a fun time at your party sweetie! And seven is a lucky number ...so lucky you! :) The fact that you are so playful at lucky seven, means you have a lot of years left in you yet :)

The different vets mentioned different ages for my boys, too. We adopted the 1st guess. But age sure doesn't change how much your mom loves you :-)

  11. I'm glad you had such a splendid Gotcha Day, Katie. And i love the beautiful card from Benedict! :)

So happy your Mom found a better vet to take care of you after that fiasco with the other one. How did he not diagnose a URI?? Those are awful for kitties.. my Tortie had one a year ago, but it was made better really soon!

You have a lovely weekend Katie, and hugs. xx

  20. It was a fun pawty Katie and we wouldn't have missed it for anything. Wow - you is middle age just like me. But you still look like a kitten and certainly act like one so that's the important issue.

  21. Katie, it's great that you have a new vet who treats you and your Mom with the kind of respect you deserve. 7 is a great age, though that must have been quite a surprise to hear!

  22. Katie, rescues and shelters sometimes drop a few years off a kitty's age because they think humans prefer younger cats. Which shows that the human's worship of youth culture is pretty pointless.

  25. Age is just a number Katie. I will be 14 in April and I still play like a kitten.

  26. We loved your pawty and we love you sweet Katie! Hey, Vet, smet, you're not a day over five. Since I am a tabby they just count the rings on my tail to see how old I am!

  30. Dearest Katie - we are SO SORRY we missed your pawty! We were a little distracted because we are a bit worried about Trixie, who seems to have forgotten that her ladycat parts were stolen last April and is acting furry oddly!
    Belated Happy Gotcha Day anyway!

  31. So happy you enjoyed your pawty....it was truly awesome just like YOU.....happy to hear you have a new vet after the MESS of dealing with that last one. Most of all I want to say it doesn't matter HOW old you are because you're beautiful and happy and your Mom will always think of you as her "kitten" just like my Mom does with me!!

    Love, Sammy

  33. Great party, dear Katie. I am glad your appointment went well. As for your age, you are timeless & ageless. As long as you are healthy and feel well, that is the important thing. ~xo~
