Google Problem on Handheld devices here at my home.

Kitties, not sure what I am going to do.  Mom isn't either.  Lately, when we read your blogs on either the iPhone or the iPad, and we go to comment, a window comes up and tries to force Mom and I into signing up and into "everything Google".  Mom and I do NOT want Google+.  We do not want Google Chrome.  We do NOT want ANY of the games, pictures etc etc and other services Google has with the sole exception of Blogger.  It says "sign in to everything Google and then go to Blogger".

I do NOT like being strong-armed into something I-DO-NOT-WANT.  I have a Mac.  An iMac for the big computer.  I have everything else Mac as well..phone and tablet.  I LOVE Safari for my browser and I have no desire for their Chrome.

I want to be wrong.  Tell me I am wrong and I will be tickled to the ends of the earth.  My human brovver is here and he selected "sign in with another account" and as soon as Mom did, there went that window again, not permitting her to go on without signing up for all the services.

If Google forces me and mom while on our iMac as well, Admiral, me and Mommy will all have to go away and that makes us very sad.  Why will we go away?  Because Google is right now at this time the single most invasive user of your private information in the cyber world.  NORMAL cyber world, not the N*S*A.   Face Book ain't no bowl o' kibble either but Google and their strong armed maneuvers takes the cake.  Again, if Mom has misunderstood or is wrong, she apologizes and she will jump for joy to be wrong.  She'll eat a whole truckload of humble pie.

Mom said she is cutting and pasting this into her human blog.

xxooxx

This is me yesterday after smokin' my nip ceegar!  I licked the brown off it!  It was soaking!

  1. Some other kitty had this problem recently and found an easy fix--I hope they read this and comment. I will try and remember who it is...

Failing everything, Chome isn't evil or anything; I use it as a browser and I love it.

  2. I know it isn't evil, but I love my Safari and have no need for Chrome and most of all, I do NOT want to be forced into it.

  3. I sure hope you don't go away, that would be way to sad.

  4. Mom uses her ipad like now to read and comment but we are going thru Feedly and have no problem with googles. We hope you don't go away. :(

  5. The Human and I would be all sad and weepy if you went away :-(

We had a ton of trouble with youtube and can't post any video from youtube on the blog anymore--not from our SpittyandtheHuman channel or even any other channel. Sigh. I dunno. It's a complicated world.

  6. We would be really sad to see you leave, too, and we hope you don't!

Do we understand that the issue started when you used "sign in with another user"? If so, maybe resetting Safari's cookies and whatnot would help to clear that out.

If that doesn't work, don't leave the blogosphere. There's always Wordpress. We know that it's the minority or the cat blogosphere, but better that than losing you entirely!

  7. I use Firefox as a browser most of the time but have Chrome around for when I need to look up somethin' quickly. I do my blog on IE though. They each have their advantages and I like keepin' my options open. You know, in case I wanna change my mind or something.

  8. We don't have an iPad but we do have an iPhone and iMac. My Mommy hasn't tried commenting with the phone for a little while so I don't know if we'll have the same problem. I hope you don't have to go, cause I'd miss you a lot! I know the other kitties in the blogosphere would too!

  9. We HATE Google+ here too. We had an account and closed it when we discovered you can't delete anything from it, even if you close the account and reopen it. And we hate how you can't click onto kitties blogs from G+ either. We are just a house full of haters, I guess. But we really hope you don't go away.

  10. So far, I have not experienced the problems you have, at least not nearly as often. Once in a while Google tries to get me to sign up for this & that, but not very often. Of course, I'm using Firefox (I had trouble bringing up your blog on Internet Explorer*) and I don't have a blog. Maybe Google doesn't pay as much attention to me because I don't have a blog.

It sure looks like Katie enjoyed her nip cigar!

    * However, I can read Mewsings of Garden Cottage Cats (Angel's blog) okay on Internet Explorer.

  11. Although we have a Google Plus account here - my human uses a lot of Google things like Adsense (their ad network) and I spend a lot of time going through YouTube videos - we are not thrilled with Google either, so I can't say I blame you. I really hope you do not have to go away, though!

  12. Katie, we purr that you and your mom can figure out a solution because we don't want you to go away. We don't like Google+ and don't have an account. But we do use our gmail account to comment on most blogs. We also have a wordpress account and use that too.

  13. we hope you find solution to that nasty problem very soon.

  17. Now see we iz on the other side of the Apple Nazi fence! We use chrome & have the feedly thing for blog readin but what really gets under my furrs is when you see a blog on feedly, you read the post, if you want to comment you first hasta click to open the whole post, then click again to open that person's 'official' blog and then click once more to post a comment. ugh we think alla these things sometimes really bugs the hello kitty outta us!

  18. I will purr and purr that someone is able to help your Mom come to a positive solution. Please don't go away...

  19. Oh we find it scary when google does this "sign once for everything" type rubbish too!

We don't use macs but on the pc - when I log into blogger there is a tick box (it is ticked automatically - it says tick here to sign to all google services or something) so we just untick it and we are no longer signed to all things google, just blogger and youtube.

We hope you find a solution to this google invasion!

    Take care

  20. Poor Katie! Someone is trying to google-ize you and your Mom and you don't want that....you need someone to put a whammy on Google for you. If you need a Sammy Whammy (which is quite powerful) let me know. We have NOTHING Google and like it that way!!

  21. Well we sure hope you don't go away. That would be way too sad. We don't like Google+ either. We joined but didn't put our blog on it. I think that probably what ever you do on the internet, they are going to collect your info. But I don't know that for sure.Hope you can figure it out.

  24. We totally agree with you about Google+ etc. We also do not like being strong-armed into anything. We don't use an iPad or an iPhone and have had no problem with either the desktop or laptop Macs. Let's hope it stays that way.

  25. We hope you enjoyed your nip cigar Katie.
We always use Google on the desktop and our laptop although we do have Wordpress account too and sometimes I do use it but not often. We try to be able to visit friends who went onto Google+ and some we can still visit (if they leave their old sign in there) but many we can't. I am not going to go on to Google+ as I am not going be pushed into something I don't want to do and personally I don't like.

  26. I'm beginning to think that Google abandoned its 'do no evil' philosophy somewhere along the way--they've certainly gotten more invasive. I don't have any Apple products so I don't know how to fix the problem you're having. But don't leave. As others said, if push comes to shove, there's always Wordpress. (My mom has set up several sites using that platform in her work and likes it. She's pretty sure your whole blog could be imported to it.)

  27. I think every Java update says something about google chrome, so we don't update it. ANY site that says something about google chrome we leave alone.
We use firefox and IE. We certainly don't want google plus, too, overtaking everything we have.
    Sneeky creeps us out.
    We feel your pain.
And we like our Bloglovin' It's easy to use!!

  28. That's the way to handle it Katie....let your mom do the figuring out while you enjoy your nip!

  30. Katie, perhaps your mommy would benefit from a nip cigar!??

    Tell her that my mom uses safari on her Apple devices and has no problem. However, she does use Google+ so that might make a difference. Google owns everything now including YouTube. Very soon it will be running the world!!! 8{

  33. Our mom has a Mac, an iPhone and an iPad. She uses Safari on all of them and does not have Google Chrome installed on any of them. She does have a Google account so she can comment on Blogger. We use WordPress to post. She doesn't use Google for anything else and hasn't had any trouble. She would use WordPress to comment as there icon shows up, but hasn't had success doing this. Good luck.
