Caturday

Kitties, I hadda go to the v-e-t yesterday and you have never heard (mom hasn't) such hissing..then growling with a shout or two.   I was taken back by a sweet girl tech to be weighed and have my royal clars cut.  That's "claws" to you.  Anyway, she even said to mom that she didn't mind that I hissed at her some.  She kept petting my head anyway and mommy fed me treats which I did eat.

She told me as she picked me up..."let's go get your little piggies taken care of" which totally made mommy's day.  That was downright cute!

BUT:  The not too good times ceased to roll.  I was wrapped as a burrito and I did say something about that.  I have never been prepared to eat for supper (burrito) before to get my nails done. I understand though because I was growling.  However, once I started shouting, mom looked through the glass and saw me.  They saw mom looking and I was unwrapped.  Then, my back piggies were done without too much drama except hissing and growling.

I am telling you the total truth.  I N-E-V-E-R ever EVER said a word at all at the Vet's until after that boy mom wrote about back in the Spring.  He handled me too roughly.

I didn't like my claws cut, no, but I NEVER said all that which I said THIS time.  Also, I hissed and growled the entire time I was there even when I was brought back.  Mom gave me treats...I didn't growl during that time.  But as soon as I tossed them down into my 11.9 pound sweet self, I commenced to growling again.  The deed is done.  I got an allergy shot and I had the best rest in weeks.  No constant rubbing onto everything to scratch.

I told the vet about that boy and I have never seen him again.  But the damage is done.

I wanted to say that gift card with my name on it that I showed you a few days ago and gave to mom really came thru the mail to Mommy from her middle son who lives and teaches in NC.  He kindly put my name on it.  I lubs him too.  All three of my brothers are very loved by me.

Tabbies of Trout Town, Admiral, Dude and Sauce work in the kitchens of your restaurant on the Bridge.  They love it.  It's right next to their clouds and convenient to fly over too.  xxooxx

  1. Ouch! That must have been some nightmare the guy gave you if you are so afraid of claw clipping now.

Yes, Admiral working in the kitchen near the bridge preparing fish sounds like the perfect job for her. And she's in good company.

  2. How awful that that terrible tech ruined your trips to the vet clinic. It sounds like the one who took care of you was very nice, but she had to deal with the emotional damage the other one did.

  3. We are so sorry you had a bad experience at the vet. Mum changed vets about 4 years ago because the other ones handled us too roughly.
Please can you email us again. We have misplaced your email for some reason. Mum says she can start your mini after the weekend.
Thanks, Dip Bridge and Elliot x

  4. Oh Katie, sorry you had such rough time at the vets. That is too bad. None of us mind going to the vet at all but the techs are all very nice and the vets are too. They just ignore us when we growl. Hope you can get over that soon. Glad you got your nails done etc. Take care.

  5. It is indeed unfortunate that the one bad experience with the boy has now made vet visits unpleasant. :(
Tutu is in a crazy playful mood today so I'll be a little late coming over. But I'll be there as soon as the little girl is asleep! xoxo

  9. Yes we think that would be a good job for Admiral:-)

We are sorry for your little trip to the vet.

Ps: THANK YOU so much for giving the awardie to Admiral!

  10. It's very unfortunate that the nasty boy turned you against vet trips so much. You may never get over it. Gracie still hates to be picked up, even though we have not had to give her any medication for years.

We bought a soft-sided cat carrier and left it out in the living room for a few weeks, but neither Gracie nor Millie went in it.

    Congratulations on your award!

Margo is the only one who ever made much effort to get us out of bed. If Gracie and/or Millie are up before us, they amuse themselves. However, Millie usually stays in bed until morning treat time.

  14. Oh my gosh, my sweet darling! I can totally understand how you feel about the v-e-t although no one ever treated me bad there or manhandled me. In fact, my v-e-t is the place where I and my siblings were brought and loved on and cared for when I was just a wee boy before the Human came and brought me home with her. But now when I go there I am so insanely wild that they actually have to sedate me in order to do ANYTHING, even look at me. Sigh. I am sorry you had such a bad time. Maybe I should come and bring you some Gerber's tonight after your Mommy is asleeping??? XOXOXOXO

  15. It's so sad to hear that you have such a difficult time at the vet since that one vet tech didn't treat you properly. Techs can make all the difference at a practice -- both in the good and unfortunately bad way. At least you had your allergy shot and are feeling less itchy. Hopefully it will be a long while before you have to go back.

  17. We're sorry that you are afraid to go to the vet now because of that mean vet tech, Katie. But at least you no longer have the itchies and can sleep comfortably now!

  18. We understand why you didn't like going to the vet. We don't like the stress too.
Our human clip our claws at home which could take a couple days if we don't like it or in the mood for it.

  19. I bet you're glad those piggies are DONE for a while. My Mom and Dad do my piggies here at home and I try very hard to cooperate but it's not easy! Don't like my paws pawed over!

  20. Sorry you had to go through all that. Mom makes sure the attendants are gentle with me or else they'll never hear the last of it. That's my mom.

  21. Katie san, I'm so sorry that bad experience with the boy has made you feel so unhappy with the vet visit.
We took Goro for annual exam last weekend. He was hissing and growling so hard. He was wrapped like burrito, too. Poor baby. Your mom must feel terrible and I can totally understand.
The gift card was real card sent from your brofur! It is so sweet of him to put your name :-)

  22. Poor Katie! I don't blame you for hissing and growling. I don't think I would like that either.

  23. Katie our Mom knows and understand what you were saying. She said the same thing happened with Abby when we went to the Specialist. Something happened to Abby in the back and she didn't like it. The very last time we ever had to go there with her, she started meowing up a storm in the lobby and it broke Momma's heart as she wanted to go and back and protect her when that tech came. We will never know what happened or who did what but Abby told us someone did something she did not like and Mom has never forgotten.

  24. We hates having our claws clipped. Mom wants to do it at home, but we don't trust her. Has a tech ever approached you with oven mitts up to the elbows? That's what our past VET had to do with Lily Olivia until they became friends. Glad you are home and all is now well. That was the sweetest thing of your human brothers to do for you and your and their mom. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  26. I understand. Having been a vet tech, I know how damaging thy can be to an animals's sense of well being (any animal). It is hard to undo that damage. I am always very conscious of how my FurKids are treated. I am blessed with a great clinic of great vets and techs...only a couple I had to set straight over the years. ~xo~

  27. Oh, sweet Katie we are so sorry you still remember how that guy treated you so rough and you had to do all that growling and hissing. We hope no one will ever treat you like that again and you will sometime be able to go get your nails clipped and not have to wear yourself out growling, hissing and letting them know what you think. We are happy the allergy shot is helping you to not itch and you can sleep nice and comfy. You and your sweet mommy have a wonderful new week. Hugs and nose kisses
