Caturday Kitty

Happy Caturday Kitties!

It's warmer now so I generally sleep at the foot of the bed rather than up against mom as I do when it's cold. (it's not affection as much as I am trying to benefit by her body heat!)

So, having said that I will move to this:  It was the deep dark night night time and I know she felt me walking up to her waist area.  I know because her breathing changed (Mom Here:  I was about to turn over as I do about 4 times per night due to some pain issues- so I was indeed awake).

Here I am, earnestly pleading my case. Would this face lie?

Meanwhile I arrived at the desired location and leaned against her with my sweet warm and softly furred self to take a leisurely bath.  I felt in my bones that mom smiled.  (Mom Here: I did.  But I was having a very real need to TURN OVER and relieve the pain)

Meanwhile, hoping to continue my complaint without her interrupting again...I finished my bath and settled deeply into her waistline to sleep the night away. Mom?  Take it away...I know you want to!!

Mom here:  I had to turn over.  I wanted her to stay where she was but I had to turn over...there was no help for it so, I started over, very slowly I might add, to lie on my back. But NO!  Up she got and ker-thump! onto the floor not to be seen the rest of the night!  Sheesh!

Me again, Katie.  I had to smile though because she laid on the edge of the bed the rest of the night (occasionally turning like she was on a rotisserie as usual!) in the vain hope of my return.  NO way! See you at breakfast mom!

  1. Our Mom does the same to us. She is always turning over but we usually jump back up on the bed. But Katie, it probably is warm enough now that you are cooler sleeping some where else. Hope you two have a great week end.

  2. Such nerve of your Mom to MOVE! Katie, when my Mom rolls over, I switch to the other side of her. She makes sure to have just enough space for me next tot he side of the bed too. I always like to be against her front side, though.

Thanks for all the comments about Audrey's pills. She loves the salmon pill pockets, and although we don't think she is that discerning, at your earlier suggestion we do keep the bag in an extra small zipper bag. The funny thing about the medicine is it seems as if the manufacturer of those small pills is in some sort of trouble for another reason (according to Dad). Mom is thinking of giving Audrey 2 pill pickets, each with a half pill in it.

  3. Yep, those humans do tend to move at the most inconvenient times pretty Katie!

  4. Mom does that too. Doesn't want to make one of us move. Thanks for coming to Yoko's party!

  5. I know when you left the bed that you were just being considerate of mom. I hope she is feeling better this morning. Hugs for you both.

  6. Sometimes the Moms make it difficult for us to get a good night's sleep.

  7. Mom does the same thing to Truffle. Truffle rarely sleeps with Mom Paula, but when she does, it's so hard for Mom Paula to avoid turning over because Truffle goes under the bed for the rest of the night.

  8. Katie, you gotta get to the bed first, claim your space. That's what we do, and we get the best space doing that.

  9. Our Mum turns over sometimes too Katie - Lucy now sleeps on the sofa so she doesn't get disturbed. Hannah stays most of the time but if Mum can't sleep and puts the light on to read (most inconsiderate) she has to get up and sleep elsewhere too!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  11. My human can't lie still either, Katie - it is SO annoying!

  12. Lol! To paraphrase a formerly famous writer, Katie is a harsh catmistress. :-) Even so, she is an adorable one!

  13. Katie you are a wild one.

My Jasmine(snowshoe Siamese)will nap with me on the very edge of the bed. I can't move at all or she runs away. Meredith Ann never comes in my room. She has her own room where she lives away from everyone. She is just a bit shy.

  14. Nice to hear you were thinking about your cleanliness, even in the middle of the night. Good work. I do that too!

  16. Hahaha I feel the pain of your mom! Not the body pain but the pain of not having you with her on bed! It is so cute that she stayed on the edge of bed the rest of night :-) I hope you will stay with her tonight!

  17. Aw, your place got disturbed so you wouldn't go back? That's a shame, because I'm sure there was plenty of warmth, even if it moved occasionally!

  18. The mom has done stuff like that to us too, Katie. We don't understand why humans have to turn when they're sleeping.

  22. It must be a human thing, all that turning over through out the night. When our mama turns over on her back we jump on her tummy. Sometimes she hollers! It's funny.

  25. Dearest Katie, we feel that you were perhaps a teeny, tiny little bit harsh on your Mom. No? It is Mother's Day today...

  26. Poor Katie...well, that's part of the reason I don't sleep with my Mom...she's constantly disturbing my sleep with turning and moving and pulling on the covers...blah, blah, blah. The other reason is I can't jump up onto the bed and refuse (on general principles) to use kitty stairs as an aid. No way. Anywho - I hope you got enough snoozing time in after all!

  29. Must be an pet thing. Oreo does the same thing here, only he takes turns giving us both the pleasure of his body heat. He never leaves the bed though. You should let Mom turn and you can both get snuggled again.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Moosey does that, too, Katie. But he usually comes back up after a patrol around the house. You have quite some willpower. :)

Happy Mother's Day to your Mom!

  31. I never sleep with peeps. That's a job for other cats. My sister, Constance, likes to cuddle in with peep #1... sometimes even sleepin' right on top of her! purrs

  32. Hi Katie! My human can't be still either, so Bubba sleeps on her pillow. Just a thought?

Happy Mothers Day to your mom!!!

  33. Mom gigled coz this describes our sleeping. I jump down if Mom turns. Sometimes she just raises the cover and turns, making it easier on us both.

  38. Aw, how sad you missed each other the rest of the night, but sometimes one just has to turn over. Or so Jan claims. Happy Mother's Day.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hello Katie Darling! I'm so sorry the Human has not been helping me visit as much as I should--I just can't do a thing with her!!! I love your nighttime story but the Human feels just the tiniest but sorry for your Mommy. I am sure you made it up to her today, right? XOXOXOXOXO

  40. We have our mom so well trained she doesn't turn over in her sleep anymore. She will wake up to turn over when her back hurts enough! Happy Mom's Day to your mommy!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Awww Katie! It seems like the humans never really appreciate our help and healing power, do they?
    Purrs

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ack! MomKatt has to do that sometimes when 'Ticia sleeps with her ('cause her arm or hand or whatever part she's lying on is going to sleep, not because of any pain). She ALWAYS feels guilty but usually Morticia puts up with it. MOL

Katie, YOU have a pawsome week my furriend!
