Meowy Monday

Kitties!  It is raining and 47 degrees out there again for the 3rd day.  No sunpuddles for me in DAYS.  Mom brought in her plants except one.  She wants to bring it in too but it has foul smelling flowers on it (smells like rotted meat..supposed to be that way).  The plant belonged to my grandma before she went to the Bridge and mom took it home not knowing about the blooms.  It's a Stapelia.  So mom is waiting till the last second to bring it in because the flowers will fill the house with a horrible odor.  Really.

If you happen to know about mom's own blog, she put a picture of the flower in there and explained why she keeps the plant.   http://www.ramblingon-ramblingon.blogspot.com

Mom is making some chicken as we speak.  I will have to taste test it soon as it is cool.  I told her we needed to make the chicken so that when I have company I can be a gracious hostess.  She agreed so it's in there cooking as we meow. Ummm.

Here I am doing what I do best.  And now I am in my own bed doing it!  I only lie in my own bed when it is cold outside.  Otherwise I am on mom's or the guest bed or the chair or the sofa or anywhere I please.

We think we understand that Brian from Brian's Home feels that if someone will just foster Jamie-- the poor cat who was cruelly dumped and is amongst feral dogs etc. there may be a home for him out west.  But it's imperative that he get out of there like right now before he is taken from us to the Bridge.  Brian is the best one to explain.  I may have it all wrong.  Please go to his page or contact him. I tweeted as did mom and the Admiral as well about Jamie and we put it on mom's Face Book too. Time is almost run out though.

Kitties, I will continue trotting around to see you as I have been doing this morning between naps.  xoxox

  5. It is good to have a bed that helps you to stay cozy on a chilly morning.

I hope that kitty finds a home. I wish that all people treated cats kindly.

  6. Mommy can't take the flowers off. She tried and almost killed the plant. All she did was cut them off (blooms) way before where they attached to the flesh of the plant and it put the plant into a swan dive. Mom had to call an expert on succulents to get help and she was worried for weeks until the baby she finally learned how to root, took hold.

  7. Have your mommy look at this site. It might give her some ideas on how to protect the stinky plant outside until the flowers are gone.

  8. It has been raining hard all day here too, but not as cold as at your end. #1 is pondering when to turn our heating on. Soon, probably , as it's getting damp.

  9. I am so sorry that you have my rain. We still have sunny days. Not normal at all for us. Chilly in the mornings though, so Mere is napping by the heater vent until she gets to go outside.

  10. Sure is a good thing your mom didn't bring in the plant with the stinky flowers before making that delicious smelling chicken she's making. That would have ruined the good smells, don't you think? It's cool here now, too, but the peep has left out her Christmas cactus. I suppose she'll be bringing them in soon along with the fuschias. They're even more tender, I think, but we haven't had frost yet so they're still all outdoors.

  11. mmmmm chick-hen

We don't know nothing about plants, but we don't think having stinky ones in the house is great (though we understand about hanging on to precious things).

We gots our paws crossed for Jamie.

We will be able to get away with sooo much 'cause LP walks like a turtle these days and can't get to us!!

  17. It's now about 56F, but cool inside. Mom put my kitty chick-hen out but she wishes now she had cooked a real chick-hen. Instead she is cooking some Pinto Beans. Enjoy your chick-hen and stay warm, sweet Katie.

  21. Flowers that smell like rotted meat...doesn't sound too bad to me (not Mama!). There are worse smells. You're so lucky your Mom is cooking a chicken!

Mama is going to visit your mom's blog. She didn't know she had one.

  27. it is brilliant sunny weather today where we lif, but pretty darn nippy. the last coupla days haf been rainy an' downright cold, wif frostin' onna leftofurs inna garden. our mommer don't keep flowders acause they haf no moufs to reminder to feed an' water them, an' they allus end up goin' to the big bokay inna sky. flowders is pretty fings, so we's glad to know yer mom takes good care of them!

tell yer mom not to giff up on The Gimp. it was written by people who code with the idea that ofur folks would go mess around an' change the code to suit themselfs, an' that's ackshully good acause there are a lotta improvements made that way. howefur, the coder people don't necessarily use the same sorta logic that artsy folk use to get frum point A to point B, graffikly speakin'. so the documentation is not allus as clear (or even as extant) as she would wish. there's lotsa youtoob viddies, though, that haf helped mommer not haff a conniption fit while tryin' to figger somethin' out;-)

  31. Read the blog CK and you'll see why cutting the bloom can't be done.

  32. We remember when your Mommy posted on her blog about that stinky plant. We hope you figure something out so that it does okay with the cold.

We are purring and praying for Jamie!

  33. Hello, darling one! You are looking extra, extra gorgeous today! Thank you for telling me the story about the Admiral today---I totally identified with her panic!! I did not let the Human come anywhere near me, though once before when I got caught in something I could not get off myself, I did finally let her help, but I moaned and groaned and cried about it, ha ha meow! XOXOXOXOX

  36. Today was our first chilly day, so we are snuggling with the mom. We'll have to check out the stinky plant. It can't be worse than MMM.

  37. Hi Katie, we've never heard of this kinda plant so we don't know how to help your mom. We hope it doesn't get too cold.

  38. It is also my duty to taste the chicken the humans cook, at home. As well as the shrimp and the salmon.

  41. Katie, we have a stapelia too! Fortunately for us, it has never bloomed indoors.

Chicken is good! Ron has made chicken salad for us to have at lunch.

GIMP is not easy to learn, but it does a lot for free. Once I found GIMP, I stopped all thinking about buying Photoshop. One thing GIMP does not do well is add text, but maybe your Mom could investigate PicMonkey or iPiccy for that.

Gracie and Millie are also experts at napping. :-)
