Ginger Man

Oh noes....but oh yes.  HE showed up again today.  I asked mom to open the front door way early.  It was like 0830 and usually she won't that early as it is asking for trouble due to wandering felines.  WHY did she open it knowing full well there might be be trouble, no one knows.  But open it she did and I saw....Ginger Cat!

Mom heard me starting to get agitated so she leapt into the entryway and saw me puffed three times my normal size and starting to hiss and growl.  Somehow she got the door shut without having to spray me with water to do it.  I growled, ran from window to window, hissed and growled some more, stayed puffed. Mom went into the computer room for a bit.  When she emerged she asked me of I wanted a treat?  I allowed that I would, so I had some treats in the kitchen and after that she actually tempted me into my play area  with more treats as I was calmer (but not decompressed)   She gave me some more treats and then, full of good stuff and calmer, I decided I would just lay in the window waiting for him to dare show up again.  Mom told me he took off at a run as soon as I started fighting instead of staying this time.   So, I did far better than the first time.

Here I am practicing yoga last night.  I may need to do that again tonight to relax after getting all agitated earlier.

  3. My poor furriend ... I'd swat him for ya if I was there & tell him to go annoy someone else.

Unless you're strangely attracted to him ... I really think that's what's driving Sasha & Peppers here at my house. She hisses at him but she's really crazy about him ... MOL

  12. Your Mom is so very smart Katie. She defused that situation very nicely. Glad that boy ran when he heard you being very bossy which is the thing to do. Hope you have a great evening.

  13. I think that ginger cat is learning not to mess with you, Katie! Maybe your human can combine the calming and treats by getting you some "calming treats" (my human has seen them at the pet store) in case this happens again. Although hopefully it won't.

  15. You are very ferocious to introoders Katie. We are the same. A few weeks ago an introoder managed to get over our purrison fence. (The horizontal timber is on the outside so we can't use it to escape, but the introoder used it to get in.)Mum heard lots of yowling and screaming and ran in the garden with her torch and we had the introoder backed into a corner. She yelled at us to get indoors and he leapt from standing right to the top of our 8 feet high fence. We don't want him in our garden, but we think that was a gold medal performance for the high jump.

  16. YAY Katie - M and I are so proud of you and your mom on how you handled the situation. Now since you showed him who was boss at your house, hoopefully he won't be back again - ever!

  30. When any of our neighbour cats come too close to our run, #1 says I scream like a banshee and can be heard a mile away... It's the only way to go!

  31. Katie, my Human thinks that Ginger Cat is really sweet on you, only he won't admit it. That's why he keeps coming back, even though you've made it plain you aren't interested.
Purr-haps you should change tactics. Show him he hasn't got a chance because you are My Girl...

  32. We would also love to see a picture of you all puffed up to scare the ginger kitty away. But it seems his visits are random and not so frequent. Hope he stays away for a while again.

  36. I'm glad the Ginger Cat left so quickly. It's unfortunate that you get so agitated.

Speaking of visitors, we actually had a brand new visitor to our patio and the Cat Memorial Watering Pan. He or she was all black (as far as we could see) and rather large, with very pretty green eyes. The kitty was not hostile, and fortunately, Gracie did not get really upset. She went to the door and watched the new kitty very carefully, but Gracie did not growl or hiss. We are sure the new kitty is not a stray or feral because he or she looks like someone takes care of him/her.
