Feline Friday

Kitties!  I have been playing this morning instead of staying on my tree.  Of course, mom being mom, she hopes I will still use my tree.  One other good thing has happened with the advent of the cat tree...I have not clawed carpet that mom can tell.  One thing is, I am not down on it as much AND I can claw the cat tree which is carpeted.

To Terri who comes to see my adventures,  thank you so much for the suggestions. I eat hairball formula foods and bomit anyway, and mom can't cover the carpet where I scratch because the entire house is carpeted except the kitchen and bathroom.  That makes it hard on mom, MOL. She never had another kitty like me who loves carpet.  Her other kitties all clawed sisal rope posts.  She also said to mention that she has 4 scratching posts, 1 scratching mat and 3 scratch pads.  BUT while I use those, I STILL claw the carpet.  Guess that's part of having a most excellent beautymous Tuxie like me..

We are playing with my red tissue paper and the fishing pole with a denim bow on the end that looks like a moth.  I LOVE that thing and it's a pass-down from as far back as Robin, mom's kitty who flew way 16 years ago.  Mom, for a change up from the usual fishing with me will put the tip of the fishing rod under the tissue paper and I attack with the ferocity of a mountain lion.

Ah..I am demanding attention..see you laters.

  4. Oh Katie - It's good to hear you are back to playing with mom again. I know you will still use the cat tree when you want to be up high. What kitty doesn't like to be up high,

  5. You came down the tree to entertain your Mom, didn't you Katie? She must have felt very lonely with you on the tree. You're such a thoughtful Tuxiegirl.
Boomie is busy packing his bags for his overnight trip at your place. He can't wait to see you!

  7. Katie, it sounds to me like you are just a kitty with a lot of energy and playfulness! Some kitties are just restless and do things like claw the rug, no matter what, like my roommate Boodie. She's 11, so she sleeps more than you do, but when she is up she is pretty nutty!

  15. Katie, Katie...you scratch all over the carpet? My cow cat had a few favorite spots. The carpet still has the scars to show for it, too.

We'll have to try the tissue paper with the fishing pole. The girls might like that.

  20. Maybe if you don't scratch the carpet in once spot no one will notice. It's when you pull up pieces of the carpet by going to the same spot that it becomes un-hideable and you just have to rely on your cuteness to get out of any trouble!

  21. Katie it's the tuxie thing...but also I think it's a Katie thing. I've got a love affair going on with our new area rugs. I know it's wrong, I know it drives the girl crazy...but I can't help myself. Besides, I'm certain I look really cute doing it.

  22. Kate and Mom, my Mom remembers us reading on Herman's blog about how Karen Jo would reward him somehow with treats for scratching on his scratching post/tree. Not quite sure how to get that idea ross but maybe something like that could work for you too.

The yacht is arriving at the pier quite soon, we believe.

  25. Our mom figures if you share your life with small lions, you have to expect some small mammal damage. She tries not to get too upset about stuff like that.

  26. Hmmm, I find that overall-wearing kitty strangely disturbing. It's as though someone attempted to make a Kitteh-Human hybrid and improved the Human but worsened teh kitteh! (Ha ha meow--the Human says that is some kind of Mark Twain quote but she totally has it mis-worded somehow!)

  27. I think I'm all caught up on your posts! I'm so glad you got a tree! And totally understand your mom's issues with the carpet scratching.. My kitties want to do that, but luckily when they cat get at them, they prefer the welcome mat shaped like a butterfly or the cardboard scratchies..
Hope she gets her camera back soon!
