HairBalls and Bomits and Horking, O MY!

Kitties and Woofies!  I started my hairball formula dry fuds day before yesterday.  The two previous days (and nights!!) I had horked up some really juicy good ones.  Yesterday with just 24 hours of the hairball formula under my silken furs, I horked up the mother of all my hairballs!  That sucker was another Vienna sausage sized one filled with furs, on steroids.  (fatter than the sausage).  TMI coming up again but when mom was cleaning my box this morning early she said she saw furs in the solid waste (TeeHee) which means that some furs really ARE making it thru the system.  Mom said not to tell you all over again what she and I have been doing prior to the new fuds. You know.

I have been increasingly naughty with the scratching in all the wrong places again.  Yesterday mom FINALLY reached for the spray bottle.  I did NOT like that ONE single bit.  I took off like my whiskers were on fire.  Thing is, I get away with murder  with it in the deep dark night night times.  She's not awake and she can't stop me.  (Insert childish taunt  sounds here).

Just wanted to say my side of it and let you see my earnest face.  With a face like this, would I fib?

pee ess.  My best bud Sunny is having his 14th Birfday today!  He put on quite a spread for his Pawty.  Go join us.  I'm at the bar having a Niptini.  See ya there.

  1. Hahameow...we hopes we hears less and less about hairballs and horking as the weeks go by (meaning that your new diet is working!). Teri said your mom should try 'Sticky Paws', a double sided tape that works whether she is around or not...

  2. It's the carpet she's clawing unfortunately. (Katie's mom here)

  4. Yes, Katie... under the cover of darkness we kitties can do so much without the peeps ever being any the wiser. Yes, the night belongs to the kitties!

  5. Oh Katie, we sure hope that new diet works for you. Our Missy is having the same problem. We certainly don't think you would Fib Katie. Not a nice girl like you. Take care. We will go check into that parteeee.

  6. We hope those hairball fuds start working some magic real soon, sweet Katie! We don't like the water bottle at all, either.

    Hugs to you and Mommy!

  7. Katie, lay off the carpet! You wouldn't want Mommy to ship you back, would you? Good luck with the hairball food. We know zactly what you are describing both with the sausages and with the hair-in-poop

  8. Hi Katie san. I hope the hairball diet will work for you.
You can be as naughty as you like in the midnight :-) Hehe. Spray bottle won't work for my Goro. He thinks water is fun to play with.
Have a fun weekend, Katie san. Don't drink too much niptini :-)

  10. Great! Hairball formula works. Our human gives us laxatone. We'll try asking for hairball formula kibbles now. Purrs!

  11. Äiti says she totally knows that with such sweet, innocent kitten eyse, you never get told off for long. And we are impressed by the size and frequency of hairballs. Yakkity yak!

  12. Katie, better out than in, we say! Paws crossed the hairball food keeps things movin' on down the road, heh heh. Poor Felix has the same issue only at the other end...his poops get all knitted together and they get...um...stuck and then Mommy has to come to the rescue.

  13. One of my cats worked on the carpet. She now has two cardboard scratchers on the floor: a SuperScratcher and an ESS. She doesn't bother the carpet anymore. My other cat uses a tower scratcher. It had to go on the vinyl floor to be steady enough.

We are so glad the hairball food is working!

  14. Sounds like the new foods is working! We hope to hear in the future that it is. As for the scratching, that sweet face would get away wif alot at our house! HaHaMeow!

  15. My Mom googled around for suggestions for ways to discourage scratching the carpet. Audrey goes for the cardboard scratchers so we keep on in each room. Also one suggestion she read was to buy some of the plastic carpet runner stuff and put it with the pointy side up in the place where she scratches. Home Depot sells it b y the foot or yard. If she has specific spots she goes to, maybe some strategically places squares of that stuff would help. But you may need to do that in conjunction with getting a cat tree for her as an alternative.

  16. Oh dear Katie night time carpet scratching won't make you popular!
Mum says she is lucky that we both use the scratch pole or the fence in the garden!!

  17. Katie dear...I'm sorry I've not been around but Mommy's been *yellow* all weekend.
I hope the new food will help with the hair balls... and there'll be less bomits and horking in the days to come.
I HATE the spray bottle too! Now, we KNOW the voice Mommy uses before the spray bottle appears so we usually stop what we're doing immediately.
I'll join you for a Niptini at Sunny's pawty. :)

  18. Star says, "I'll be there in a minute love! I just need to make sure mom stays in and doesn't go out and do too much. ::glares at mom:: Has your mom tried putting valerian on your scratchy places yet? Mom put some on one of my scratchy places and it smells soooooo good that I can make it move all around the living room!!"

  19. Mom used to use the Furminator on us but we don't have long, pretty furs like you do. It works real well - better than the wire brush, which is all we really need. Should Mom send you the Furminator?

If your Mom gets you those claw covers, do you promise to keep them on? If so, you won't damage the carpet and your Mom won't have to use the spray bottle. Win-win!

  20. Such a blog entry title for a beautiful lady!

Uh oh, the dreaded water bottle. I am a big fan of the water bottle for letting kitties know they are being naughty.

PS, my kitties have less hairballs now that I give them coconut oil. It looks like crisco almost so I just put some in a few randomly placed bowls. Yates who use to york up all the time almost never throws up now.

  21. Katie good to know your new food is doing its job.....Now for the inappropriate scratching...Mom may not see but Santa Claws sees everything so you best behave.

  24. I hope you get all of the stray fur out of your system soon, Katie. I'm sure it isn't good for you to have it stay in there. You should probably expect your Mom to start using the water bottle more often, naghty kitty! :-) Gracie and Millie sleep most of the night.

  25. Me and mom hope that this new food will continue to work for you Katie Isabella !
Me and mom have not the same opinion about the scratching you are up to.
Me I think you should just go on with it and my mom say´s that should stop with it this instant minute !

  26. Well putting the hairball issue aside for now, I must say that Austin has started the carpet ripping ploy big time! I'm wondering if it something to do with spring??

Katie, honey you are right to proud of your hairball evacuation prowess! :)

  27. Katie - that is a bootiful picture of you and if you look like that all the time no wonder your mama has trouble making you behave. he he - you are just too sweet looking. Yikes - the dreaded squirt bottle. I haven't had that happen to me in a couple of years. hmmnnnm guess I've been a good boy.

  28. It is a good thing you are so adorable, Katie! But then, ALL us kitties are! You should see some of the things Binga gets away with! I hope this hairball formula works and your throwing up starts to abate - I can't imagine it is any fun, as gratifying as it is to create more work for your human.

  30. We hope that hairball stuff werks soon, Katie.

We have 3 floor type scratchers, and there is lots of posts wrapped in sisal rope on the cat trees, so we have OK places ta scratch. TBT suggests that Mom get a carpet-style indoor mat an rub catnip into it (or use a spray) to attract your scratchin there. Then put a box scratchpad on it after a while.

  35. Kataie, I'm shocked. I thought Mario was your bestest furrend. Hope that humongous hairball was the rest of what's left inside you and your intestines are now clean. Good work on the carpet. You Mom should buy you a cat tree with carpet. I love mine and love scratching it.

  36. I'm really disappointed there are no pictures of the Giant Life-Size Fat Sausage hairballs to look at. I for one would really have appreciated that.

The SPRAY BOTTLE? How DARE she? This calls for Rebellion in the ranks.

  39. Did you mom put your scratching post loaded with nip on the place you are scratching? That's how we get our mom to put our posts where we want them.

  40. Hey Katie!
Me has been a wild scratch-er forever! No Matter what Mommy and Daddy does, me scratches. me has scratched my way through 2 sofas (and almost a 3rd) in my 14 years. Me has destroyed the 4 chairs that was covered with vinyl, 4 boxsprings (2 of which me is still working on) and carpets! Me thinks all the scratching posts and cardboard things is ok and me scratches them when Mommy and Daddy is up, but as soon as it gets night....

  44. You and Meredith Ann. The long furs throw up Queens. Only Meredith is doing well on her sticky meds and dry food.

Meredith likes to scratch things too but I yell at her when she does it. She just looks at me like what. I pick her up and put her by her cardboard box. I have several of those around the house just for her.
