Industrious Sunday

Kitties!  Here I am being a monorail.  I'm zausted! Mom said I was very industrious all night.  She heard all the running and I hopped up onto the bed on several occasions to announce the goings-on so she'd be up on things. (no pun intended there at all).

I moved my toys into our bedroom!  I thundered around in celebration too.  The main thing was that even though my meow is so tiny, when mom heard me make my announcements thru the night it worried her that I was announcing that I had caught my mousie again.  I got her attention every time I spoke as I will bring all my trophy items straight into the bed.

I think after all of that activity I will have an easy now.  Oh and mom is despairing of finding grain free products that I will eat.  She has spent a lot on things that largely go to waste. We are re-thinking things. Don't know what our next move will be yet.  Every cat likes things their own way and to their individual taste.  No one has liked what Robin loved when she was still here and I don't seem to care for what Admiral had nor the new things.  Three years away from mom must have taken its toll.  Who knows what my former person fed me.

  1. Katie, you are such a clever monorail cat. We wonder what you were so excited about all night. Mommy, maybe you mustn't worry about grain free food. It was a good goal, of course.

Will Katie eat fishy foods? For a while I was only Friskies turkey and gravy and beef and gravy. The meaty bits kind. But now sometimes I really enjoy pate style Sea Captain's choice. But for some funny reason, any catfood with tuna in it, I turn my nose up at it.

    Audrey will eat ANYTHING!

  2. Oh Katie, you are just like the gang around here. We love to get Mom really early. You do look exhausted. We will NOT eat the grain free food either. It is really hard to decide what food to eat. There are just so many kinds out there. See if they make a Natural Balance cat good that is not grain free. It is the one with Limited Ingredients. We haven't tried that one since we don't have a lot of green papers and there are way too many of us that live here. Keep us posted. I would like to know what works.

  3. he he - Katie - I think your mom will have to have a big EASY today too, except she has your ooman brothers coming home, so she can't get too lazy. You are a silly girl - an adorable one, but silly.

  4. Hope you have a great nap.....Mo does that sometimes do - does the warrior cry and brings mom the "dead" toy.

Hopefully your mom can find a food you like soon. Mom has had that problem before with fosters and it can be so frustrating.....

  5. Katie, after all that work you've been doing, you deserve a rest!!

We hope your mom can find a good food for you. One thing to remember, grains aren't bad for cats...what is important is that you find a good quality food to eat. We choose not to eat foods with grains because of Ernie's allergies. But there are lots of good foods out there that might have grains in them.

  6. Oh Katie, we just saw Marg's comments about the Natural Balance foods. Ernie eats the NB limited ingredient foods...he eats venison and peas...it doesn't have grains...they also have duck and chicken flavors too. Both canned and dry (though can foods are better). You can check them out.

  7. She doesn't care for pate foods. Is there anything on the can that says if it's pate or if it's pieces? xox

  8. Hello pretty Katie! I know it sure isn't easy to find just the right food...but I know you will. Enjoy your Easy!

  9. Katie, it is so nice of you to bring your trophies to mom during the night. Bet mom needs an easy day too.

  10. What's up with your mom. A mouse in the bed is a good thing. Hee Hee.. Actually, I think you better rest sometimes when your mom does so you don't wear her out. Sounds like you're having fun though.

Pawhugs from us... Max, Bugsy, Knuckles and HH

  11. I wonder if you will love Tiki Chicken cat food. It it the yummiest stuff and all 9 of us agree on that! It looks like shredded chicken in the can and we all go nutso for it!

    Excellent work on the monorail!

  13. I sure do hope that your mom can find something really tasty for you to eat that your tummy will tolerate well. These things can be difficult but you've got a really smart mom so she'll 'make it happen'. I've got a surprise for you. Check out my blog and you'll see that you've won an award. Yeah!!!

  14. It's a texture thing! My boys don't much care for pate style foods, though they'll eat that before the Wellness pouches with large pieces. They *will* readily eat foods that are not so smooth, like Instinct rabbit, duck or venison. They also like Wellness minced food. Not the slices. All the aforementioned are grain free.

Wish I could send you one or two of each so you don't waste money. :-(

  15. What a great monorail you make Katie and after all that tidying up in the night! We rarely eat all the flavours in one box - Mum says she's feeding all the kitties at the local shelter too!!

  16. No wonder you're exhausted! I'll come over and give you a nice massage to help your muscles relax. *kiss*
Mommy gives us Addiction venison kibbles for breakfast. It's grain free and very delicious. Can your Mom find that in the stores around your area?

    Love, Your Boomie

  17. Well! I'm sure your Mom needs an Easy at least as much as you! :-) Margo & Hemingway used to run around part of the night sometimes...Gracie & Millie don't. In fact, Gracie & Millie have adjusted their schedule to ours to a surprising extent. We have never tried to feed our kitties grain-free foods, so I don't know what to tell you about that. The photo of you is adorable...I hope it appears on Flickr!

Thank Cod you told us it was YOU and not a monorail in that photo. You're looking as beautiful as ever!

  20. Katie, that's a cute photo of you being a monorail kitty! Every night our mommy throws all of our toys downstairs so we have to bring them up again throughout the night. We usually announce when we bring up the toy mousies just so she has a status update on our progress!

We hope you find a food you like. Our pet food store has free sample packets and we've tried every one and hate them all except Natural Balance but that doesn't stop Mommy from trying to find other foods we'll like.

  21. gosh, we feel exhausted watching you... frenetic kitty! Dear one. Hope you can find food you like. I am trying different things here.. some work for a while and then are rejected. Its not straight forward. Good luck and take care dears... Love Helen, Darcy and Bingley xxx

  22. MOL Katie you do make an excellent monorail. I've been away for a while but have just caught up on all your cuteness, tiny meowing and mighty yakking - you always make me smile :)

  23. Hang on in there with the food and you will find one you like..Hugs GJ xx

  24. Oh Katie, I hope you find a food that you enjoy! I was reading some reviews of some new stuff by Nature's Variety that you sprinkle on top of food. Maybe if your mom sprinkled that on some of the food you already have, you would eat it? We'll eat anything with freeze-dried chicken liver crumbled on top.

  25. Hi Katie :) you make a great monorail.

With regard to the problem of what to eat, Austin only eats fishy food unless it's freshly cooked chicken, preferably off my plate!!! It is always a problem if a cat is a rescue, because you just don't know what they are used to. I hope you can get it sorted soon xox

  26. Star says, "My darling! Sorry I haven't been by but mom has been exhausted with her new bed and getting new glasses. The cans should tell if they are pate or chunks. We're loving the Iams that mom got from Mr. Chewy. It's chicken with gravy. mmmmmmmm You may be able to get a single can at Kroger, if not the PetSmart and PetCo will have it. Then just order it from the interwebz. I'll be right over to groom your gorgeous furs!"

  27. It sounds like you have been very productive, Katie! I too am picky about my food - my roommates get grain-free canned food, but my human gives me whatever I am willing to eat. Usually that is the Nutro Gourmet cans that comes in chunks because I like my food chunky. Occasionally I will eat the Blue Buffalo Wilderness canned food, but not with the same enthusiasm. Sometimes I decide I hate everything!

  28. No wonder you are exhausted Katie. We think your mum might be too.

  29. Our human said to not despair--a name brand food will be fine. Our beloved Tabitha lived 20 years on Fancy Feast and various dry kibble.

  30. Oh, Katie, Simba loves to be a monorail too. It never ceases to crack us all up. You sure were busy last night.

I completely agree with Jenna and Sissy's comment. Even though there is just three of us, Mama finds feeding us (along with litter and vet visits) very expensive. The main thing is a good home and lots of love and you have that down!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I saw your comment. Usually the can will say the type of food. I know for Fancy Feast the pate style is "Classic" but also for most brands there is usually a picture too. Make sure you return the food if you buy the wrong kind and I know PetSmart will take food back if the kitty doesn't like it.

  32. Hi Katie! What a good girl you are, making all that night-time noise and stuff! Gotta keep your Mom informed about all the goings-on. We wouldn't want her to wake up behind the times, now would we?

Oh, the food dramas we have around here! The Human says she has nuffing but sympathy for your Mom. Unlike you, I *only* like the pate kind--I really just do not trust little bits of things in sauce ::shudder:: Sometimes I will eat the good-for-me kind of foods and other times I DEMAND my Whiskas and Fancy Feast. Although the Human does not doubt the wisdom of those who go to a lot of trouble to feed their kitties excellent diets, she does have to say she has raised many kitties on the not-so-perfect for them foods and they have lived long and happy lives. So she does the best she can and it just has to be good enough.

  33. I was thinking the same thing that Daisy mentioned, that is sprinkling something tasty on top. I use a little Fortiflora - an apparently tasty probiotic that gets them eating AND is good for the gut.

Also thought it might be helpful to provide the full name of the Instinct food I keep talking about: it's Nature's Variety Instinct. They have canned food that's not so smooth. Dry grain-free, too.

Whatever cat food she eats, as long as she eats. That's the important thing. I bet your vet would agree >^=^<

    Hugs!

  34. Is yous and Kozmo playing? Loast night he would wait until everybody gots to sleep and then he would thunder round the house like he was chasing somebody. Then he would be quiet and we would goes to sleep and he would do it again. Me thinks yous two is doing your house then teleporting to ours and then back to yours!
Me thinks yous will eat when yous feels like it! That's what me does.
    Kisses

PS my favorite type of food is Kitten foods.

  35. We're so sorry your mom hasn't found what you like yet. Sometimes it takes a kitty a couple weeks to start to like a different food. Our mom is messing with our foods, too, but we like our old foods best.

  36. Nightime is the best time fur play and movin toys around! It does wear a kitteh out, though. You look lovely on red, Katie Isabella. Good luck on the food front. xoxo

  37. Precious Katie, it sounds like you have INDEED been industrious! That's what nighttime is for, isn't it?

We have our paws crossed that you and Mom find just the right fuds for you real soon. Enjoy your easy, dear one!
