Adventure is everywhere!

Oh Kitties...last night while mom was in here attending #Nipclub I made a huge sound in the living room it seemed so she got up to see what happened.  I passed her in the hallway flying.  But I thundered back while she stood there trying to figure out the sound (It was me leaping it turns out) and I had a very plump mousie in my mouth.  I put it down.  It staggered around. I picked it up again and then, I laid it down.  Mom stood there like a statue!  Finally she ran to get a broom and dust pan hoping to sandwich the mouse between same so as to take it out doors.

No such luck.  I let it loose again and it skittered across the room.  I followed and it skittered again.  Then, it got behind the couch.  I waited diligently for 3/4th of an hour.  Mom didn't pull the couch out for me.  Finally her eyes were sleepy enough that she was forced to go to bed even knowing that if I caught him, the likelihood of me showing up in the bed with it was huge.  I came in too and we stayed together awhile and then, I left.  Mom was too sleepy to lay there at attention so the rest of the night was spent with one eye open...hers.

Mom is allowed to continue here and tell you that even though I am absent from her not dictating right now..she is to tell you I am zooming up and down the hallway.  She heard a lesser crash and got up immediately just now to investigate.  My mouth is closed with nothing in it.  Yet.

  1. Wow, Katie, that IS adventure! Gee, we hope you catch your tasty little snack. :-)

Our mom says she could not have gone to bed without rescuing the poor thing. LOL. She hopes it escapes your clutches, but you already know we're rooting for you, of course!

  9. I hope you catch the mouse before your mom Katie !
Humans are sooo boring when it comes to mousehunting , they believe that when they have cought the mouse. The only thing to do is throwing it out :(

  17. Hi Katie:

Congrats on catching a nice plump mouse! I have never seen one at our house, but if I did catch one I can tell you NOBODY would get it away from me. Why aren't your peeps more grateful for you catching them?

Good luck for the next one!

  18. Wow, a real live mousie is quite a homecoming present, don't you think? Maybe your momma "planted" him for you?? MOL. I could not go to bed knowing there was a mouse loose, despite also knowing that with three cats in the house he was a goner ... eventually.

Katie, let me tell you that the crunchy heads are the BEST part...eat that first before your Mom gets a hold of that mouse!

It is so important for us to keep our houses vermin free! Someday I shall whisper the story of me and two of my brothers playing mousie-in-the-middle into your shell-like ear."

  21. Katie, if you are trying to teach your Mom to hunt, that won't work...humans just don't hunt like kitties do! It sounds like you have been having a great adventure, although I'm not sure your Mom can fully appreciate this sort of adventure. :-)

  33. Wow, what a FUN adventure! I hope you have finally gotten it, but if not, it is probably on its way to dying and eventually your human will be able to locate it by the smell. They are way better at finding creatures that are dead than live ones.

  34. What fun to have a real live mousie to play with. We sometimes bring them in from outdoors, and we know mum likes it because she shouts with delight. She even tries to catch them for herself when they run under the computer desk.

  35. Katie you are such a brave girl!! I can't even imagine catching a REAL, LIVE MOUSE!! WOW!

My Mom laughed when she read your Mom had one eye open all night, she would do the same!

  36. OMC! A real mousie! We don't have them have. Guess they don't climb to the 4th floor and can't reach the elevator buttons. I keep imagining I see one tho and keep TW loking all over.

  37. Wow! A real mouse?
My cats couldn't catch one even if they wanted to - they are far too lazy to chase things around the house. Hahaha!
